please house ave gat an issue.I graduated with second upper which my certificate already holds, i went to my school recently to apply for both official and student copy of my transcript to my greatest surprise there was a typo error on my copy saying i graduated with second class lower and i no it will still reflect on my official transcript. Is there a problem with this? should i go back to my school for them to make corrections?
Of course there is a problem, you don't want to go back? You are contented with the second class lower that is reflecting? if truly you graduated with second class upper go to your department and/or student records to correct the discrepancy, You don't want your transcript to under-sell you to the admission committee.

Not advisable and a very long process ........ In many cases you have to pay for a lawyer and all that stress .
Best to always get the appropriate visa from beginning
Hello MA, my name is precious, pls I sent you a question to your mail, I hope you saw it, I will really appreciate your contributions and opinion.

Wes evaluation is required.. you must upload your personal copy along with your normal undergrad transcript on the application. Both would be unofficial. You can send Wes official after acceptance.
thanks when you say normal undergraduate transcript do you mean the one we normally record on our cgpa score sheet every semester?

You have a good WAEC result. Since you're going for bsc, you also need to take the SAT exam. The next SAT exam comes up in March so you have to register as soon as possible. If not for admission purposes, it is useful for you at the embassy.

Add these three schools to your application list: Texas A&M University at Commerce and Kingsville and Troy University Alabama.

Apply first and get your admission then worry about covering your educational gap later.

Cheers.

Hello... How about toefl.... Wont it help also??
I'm considering taking toefl Against fall2018 ... Not sat.

Most schools have April 1 deadline. You may be late for priority deadline(for funding), but you can still meet up with Fall 2018.

Aitonline:
Good day all.

From your experiences, can I still meet up with Fall 2018 admission, despite I've not taken my GRE and TOEFL?

Correct such errors on academic documents as soon as you notice them. I had errors on my transcripts that were sent to multiple schools. Luckily I also requested for a personal copy. I made the errors were corrected, and the updated copies were sent to the schools again. Thankful, the school borne the cost of sending the update copies via courier.

Means your transcript before evaluation plus transcript after evaluation are required but you’re allowed to upload them on the application

No he can not meet up. There is no point rushing and failing. Funding deadline has passed in 99% of the schools if not all. I am not sure he has registered for the exams yet, he needs to gets lor, write sop..All these things don't happen in a day. He needs proper planning and not rush, very few graduate programs admit for summer, very few. In-fact the probability of getting a school that offers construction management in summer is low if not close to 0. Aitonline, plan towards Spring or Fall 2019

I was in a similar situation, I wrote my exams & had full scholarship to study here. Not everyone gets funding while in Nigeria; not everyone needs funding & that's the bitter truth. At the end of the day, it all boils down to the circumstances we're in & our individual strengths.

For example, igbonerd got funding after he got his visa, two days before he travelled. Many of my friends got funding only after they resumed. At times, we think we know but we don't.

Yes not everybody needs funding but this person we are talking about needs funding. Because it worked for you does not mean it will work for someone else. Your friends that got funding is just a fraction of the total numbers of Nigerian students in the US who were fortunate. A fraction has also fallen out of status due to inability to pay tuition. Just like you mentioned your friends, some of my friends too had to go find there way with marriage because they could not pay tuition and they fell out of status. Some are begging friends to use there credit cards to pay tuition, and when you ask them why they left Nigeria without any means of paying for their fees, they tell you they didnt know this is how it's going to turnout. For once we shouldn't encourage people to rush without proper planning, the other side is not always green

And because it didn't work for someone else doesn't mean it won't work for him.

Does he stand a better chance preparing for the standardized exams & gathering his documents against Fall 2019? YES!

Can he still be admitted for Fall 2018 by some schools? YES! Only with much less probability. The earlier, the better. Not the end.

A lot can happen in one year, much more one year & 7 months! If he is really serious about coming here, can ace the standardized exams in few weeks, then I see no reason why he shouldn't give it a shot.

At the end of the day, we're solely responsible for our actions and inactions. I just want the man to reach a final resolve being aware that Fall 2018 is still possible. Inadequate financial planning is a totally different argument.

It depends n the school you applied to. If you meet the deadline, you will be admitted provided you meet the requirements. Assistantship may depend on availability at this period. If not, you will need to spend your money and apply next Spring/Fall for GA/TA.

No..provided he/she's profile is above the average of the applicants pool, there are many factors.. You can meet requirements and not get admitted

Request for your transcript from your school, collect it sealed and post it alongside your certificate to wes. If your school doesn't issue transcript by hand, then you just print d transcript request form on wes website and submit to d school for appropriate correspondence with wes.
hi dear i am about sending my sealed official transcript to wes please i need more clarification from you i have sent a pm already.

Your school suppose to do this officially and if you are doing it on your own to make the sending fast then notify your school because WES will contact your school for the authentication of the transcript .

but western Illinois university don't accept unofficial copy of the undergraduate transcript for admission review safe from WES or ETX-NG. I'm just surprised by you saying unofficial copy is accepted.

You sound like the guy's mum..lol. There are few schools with Fall deadlines up to April. It's up to him to look for those schools and decide if he likes them.

Hello to the great folks in this house, I want to ask those who have been living in the US about buying a car. I saw one Ad on facebook for a 2003 Nissan Murano going for $2500 with mileage of 198k. The owner says the only repair issues i need to do is a tune up and new tires.

Do you think it will be wise to go for such?

Thanks

If you have a mechanic around that you know, go with him to inspect the car and then make your decision. Nissan, Honda and Toyota are known to last beyond 200k if properly maintained. You can request the carfax report too from the seller to see if the car has some hidden issues. I bought my first car off craigslist and it did about 20k miles before getting rid of it. That being said, negotiate! The $2500 I'm sure excludes registration.

Please gurus in the house I need your advice. I intent to apply to UTK for PhD in Data Science and Engineering, I have mailed the coordinator several times and she is helpful but she has so far refused to answer my question regarding the number of applicants they normally have per year. Further search shows that the program is new, it was just started last year. All she keeps telling me is that about 50% of applicants are admitted. My question is, is this course really worth it considering it is a new course, currently the course is not even ranked and how about job prospect after completion.

I have already applied to other good school but for PhD in Electrical Engineering. My profile is decent; 4.26/5 UG, 3.5/4 MSc, 322 GRE, 105 TOEFL, I have 5 publications.

Please gurus I need your advice.

Both are good fields. If you like to go into big data stuff, go for it-there are opportunities out there.
