Dear Client/Reader, Global Economy - Movements in global equities markets were broadly bearish, with performance influenced by monetary policy statements (U.S Federal reserve- maintained the target range for the federal funds rate at 1.25% to 1.50%), macroeconomic data, slump in oil prices on the back of a surge in US output coupled with the rise in Treasury yields. In the U.S., Trading activities largely reflected investors’ reaction to (1) Rise in treasury yields (2) Federal Reserve policy action which kept interest rates unchanged. Overall, the DJIA and S&P depreciated by 4.12% W-o-W and 3.85% W-o-W to close at 25,520.96 pts and 2,762.13 pts respectively. Equities Market- The equities market rebounded to close positive, as investors took positions in value stocks. The NSE ASI appreciated by 1.98% w/w as it closed at 44,639.99 points, equating to MtD and YtD returns of 16.73% and 16.73% respectively. The current low valuations of stocks still provide good buying opportunities in the market. Some of our recommended stocks are mentioned below; FLOURMILL- Flourmill maintained its strong performance in its recently released 9M’17 results as it recorded a revenue growth 0f 9% y/y from N389 bn to N428 bn which we link to the strong growth in its food business (where revenue grew +15% y/y). EBIT also increased by 62% y/y from N27 bn in 9M’16 to N44 bn. PAT also rose significantly by 79% y/y to N13.3 billion from N7.4 bn in 9M’16. EPS also grew remarkably to N4.56 from N2.50 in 9M’16 while Shareholders funds improved to N112 bn from N102 bn in 9M’16. In 2018, we expect improved consumer spending and the deleveraging of its balance sheet with the proceeds of its proposed rights issue to positively impact its earnings. With a fair Value of N47.96, we recommend a medium to long term “BUY”. DANGSUGAR- Dangsugar consolidated on its strong performance as recorded revenue of N163 bn in 9M’17, representing a growth of 41% y/y when compared to the N115 billion recorded in 9M-2016. Gross profit also grew by 118% y/y from N19bn in 9M’16 to N41bn as the strong sales growth completely offset the increase in cost of sales which grew by 26% y/y. PBT also improved by 156% y/y, while profit after tax grew remarkably by 162% y/y from N10 bn in 9M’16 to N26 bn. EPS also increased significantly by 163% y/y from N0.84 in 9M’16 to N2.21 in 9M’17. In 2018, we expect the company to benefit from improved domestic demand while the greater growth strategy implemented by the management is expected further improve its cash flows. With a target price of N27.54, we place a medium to long term “BUY”. Please find attached our Stock Recommendation for this week, ending 9th February, 2018. Thank you. So our dear Mr CAVERTON has started out his full bid exclusive journey again. ...Its alright. over 6 million bid and not a single offer for a coy that before now can barely do over 200,000 units in a day. I recall advising my brother Loco to key into this coy after he admitted to 'ejaculating quite early on the skye'. ...Then Mr CAVERTON was still selling for N1.31, but instead he 'chose to dance to the nefarious reggae of oando before sleeping at their market square' It is well. ...for Mr OANDO will still give some returns, but only when 'Mr TIME puts off the reggae sound' (...we hope to be there before then). But I am sure our dear loco will agree that he did not effectively utilize his time value for money. ...however, I still wish him well. For now Mr CAVERTON shall continue to do the SPEED LANE. ...and I am not surprise at all. ...for the recent 'closed door meeting' with our foreign hot money brothers turned out very well. ...Our destination shall without a doubt surprise a lot of folks !! #THE4.5BOULEVARD #BELIEVE 2 Likes |
