It's not about pride but cultural differences or rather "cultural shock" to be precise. I've been reading through the threads & found out some shocking revelations about what widows go through. That could never be me lol.

I'd advise you to drop the shallow minded approach if you're really interested in her. Xhosa women are not in awe of men. They get attention effortlessly because they're not the shy type. They go for what they want, no time for beating around the bush. Plus most are good looking. It's a fact grin But the thing is finding the right man. They have a reputation as man-eaters & golddiggers because it's a shallow world, most guys are about the looks. So they often use that to their advantage by playing the field, until they can find that rare gem of a man that's worth settling down for.

funny i had a different view to the bolded while i was in Jburg/Capetown on vacation. I made friends with a few and they seemed nice, not gold diggers. They lamented about the lack of great nice guys and they honestly had a liking for nigerian guys. This interest in Nigerian guys also didnt seem about gold digging

Trust me, it's about money. It is well known that Nigerian guys like to spend money on women.
Anyway, why would anyone target a specific group if they're really searching for love?

Look, I know my people lol. There's nothing you can tell me about them. We like money. They don't say "A man's good looks are found in his livestock" for nothing grin

LMAO. Love for who?

I mean at a young age you can date guys without money because you're still learning & having fun. But at a certain age, when you're looking to settle down, you need the financial stability & security. In fact, it becomes an obsession. You can't be wasting any more time on broke guys & love alone. An adult life has too many responsibilities. Love is awesome, but you cannot pay the bills with it. That is an undisputed fact. Everyone is out for number one. Poverty is a disease abeg grin
