You just took the words out of my mouth. Transport business that I have invested in for many years before Uber ever dream of writing one line of code.
All these early investors and newbie greedy drivers who don’t know sh$t about this terrain all hyped up about 40k delivery, and comparing transport business with hotel business.
Very soon the thing go go skraaaaaaaa for una ears.

The hotel analysis weak me, shebi hotel get engine and wheels, àbí owner no go hold anyone responsible if fire just break out or part of the hotel collapse.

The solution to all these driver and partner issues is HIRE PURCHASE. investor should get a good corolla at range of 1.6 to 1.8m. Release it to a driver at 3m to be paid back in 18months. Investor would have his money back in a year and profit in the other 6months.
If the driver mess up, collect ur car na hin loose.
Soon it will be difficult for partners to see drivers driving their cars coz a serious driver should be able to get his own vehicle within two years of driving.

Why is he selling the car as scrap. With comprehensive insurance, his car would be fixed and back on road.
Comprehensive insurance does not cover any fix if it’s not an accident.

who dash monkey banana??drivers lie alot....if Ogunvic had 5personal cars,he won't promise 50k weekly, becos he will know it isn't possible in the long run.......**truth hurts**
50k might be possible, even if uber increase their fare. The bottom line is no drivers will want to do profit sharing. The extra money the driver is making he will now be sharing it. For what. Most rather just pay their agreed rental and be done. Any extra from that they smart ones will save and others will squander it

So easy to say. Alot of cars on Uber don't have comprehensive insurance, you are aware of that.

Some people bought cars with their last cash, they don't even have money to put plate number, talk less of doing comprehensive.

Let's change that narrative, let's talk about owners lost, and risk in his investment.

It boils down to how owners manage their cars. Go back to my thread during Ogunvic41 days. People were giving out cars left and right coz they want make money. If you are passionate about your investment you will not let it get to the point that your car will be devalued. Put some checks and balance in place. Hire good team around you. I do inspection every two weeks on my cars. Take the business seriously and hopefully you will reduce you risk of not breaken even. And hopefully with a little luck you be fine.

I fully agree to an extent. It is so crazy to see and hear drivers that wants to make more than owners by force. These drivers have to understand that it is not by force to make more than owners. When in essence the drivers didn't put a dime to buy the vehicle. They came in with zero capital and they want to double what they didn't invest in.

Comprehensive insurance takes care of accidents to a large extent.

Driver puts life on the line
Carry owner puts money on the line.
All nah risk, but a contented, relaxed and careful driver reduces the risk.

I have not seen owners cry about their investment, when they lost money, because of drivers recklessness.

I have been a victim, dru23 and many more others have been a victim.

We move on, you guys are here making alot of noise, about ur risk. If u can't face the hussle, quit that damn job and stop this stupid complain.

The fall of Ogunvic41 and Romeo3 has given all these boys mouth.

The fall of Ogunvic41 is not bc of 50k rental.

And they are taking advantage of the situation, telling owners, is bc of 50k.

Yes am in the states. And have been doing the business for 7months exact as of yesterday. The issue with parts, if you read my previous thread about elantra.
At the start parts were change. Same parts were change after less than few months. We change mechanic, than we change to a new manager. So far so good, also I decided to import the major parts that are needed in the car that will last longer.
I went on eBay, eBay is your friend o. I bought shocks for$100 both back and front. Ball joints, two scanner , stabiliser links. At a good price. Those items am putting it inside the booth of my next car. Disengage the booth , a friend of mine did the same thing and nothing happens to the stuff inside the car.
I am not worried about the value of the car . My landing cost is very OK. After year or more I sell the cars. Worse comes to worse. Instead of selling the car, I will reconditioned the car over and put it back on the road. Business is all about strategy and everyone has a method to their madness. You can't compare my method to some. I have advantage my cars are tokunbo and my landing cost is almost the cost of buying very good or Grade A Nigerian used cars.

No, but that won't happen if the owner is actively involved in the maintenance of his vehicle by the use of OEM items.

You are being emotional sir, I'll reply you with a previous post...

timifakay:
I am neither a car owner nor driver on any e-hailing platform and have no intentions of being either.
All this driver must have take home that's greater than what he remits to car owner or fleet manager is greed.
How many people here who work for companies/organizations (whether big or small) can confidently say their monthly income is greater than 50% of what they make for their employers?
The only reason people are thinking and coming out to say the driver should earn more money than car owner is because he has total access all resources in the business.
In every situation I know or have heard of, investor/ employer/business owner makes more money than any employee.
Every driver that wants to take the same amount of money home with car owner is directly setting himself up for failure because that means he has to make atleast three times the amount he remits; with each third going into car running/maintenance, car owner ROI and driver income.
Example: Weekly delivery of 25k, shared maintenance or repair clause and driver wants to earn atleast 25k too means.
Weekly remit =25k
Car running/ maintenance contribution= 25k
Driver take home =25k+X
Total = 75k+X
After 3 months max one of car or driver or both will be unavailable for a greater part of a week and driver won't be able to meet up for with that week's payment and this will be commencement of problem because owner thinks his remit his small and he shouldn't have any complain, driver will think owner is inconsiderate due to his sense of entitlement which in the first place led him to believe he should earn more than car owner.
Driver will eventually suffer greatest loss because he will lose car - source of income, which will lead him to signing a worse contract on next offer.
Vehicle owner still has his car, in a worst case scenerio of car total loss he gets compensation, if driver dies he may still be the one to get claim for driver's life and pass whatever he wants on to driver's family.

Any driver who thinks the value on his life his greater than the cost price of vehicle invested by car owner should claim he has terminal disease or was kidnapped for his family members and see how much they will raise within a week if it is more than the cost of the car take it and go and buy car, then become a driver partner. If not, be humble and contented with a reasonable amount that you can easily replicate monthly.

I am not jollof, I can't make everyone happy.

It was bought as a tokunbo solely for the purpose of Uber Services, and has been used for less than 5 months on Nigerian road, u can verify the custom papers, date of registration etc...
i can sell it off for a minimum of N1 million, which gives you a savings of N300k.
if you are interested, send ur whatsapp or telephone number or send email to enlightbookstore@ gmail.com. Alternatively a generous car hire purchase or rental option is also available for a given amount of initial deposit.

I hope you know not everything on eBay is OEM, some sellers source from Chinese stores like Alibaba, taobao and the likes... So quality isn't guaranteed, except you are buying used parts or you are sure the person you are patronizing won't do such.
If you have a fleet of cars with fitting parts, you can just salvage parts from accidented vehicles you buy and dismantle.
