house of representative or senate can not override a bill relative to security because it does not fall into their jurisdiction. the federal republic can not approve and bill on the issue of Nigeria. it does not fall into their jurisdiction.

I can't believe these law makers understand the financial implication of what they are doing. It is not about setting them up. They should be looking at sustainability. Even the police has received approval for the recruitment of additional men but that had to be spread over a period due to funding considerations.

How willing will these law makers be to shed their budgets to enhance efficiency and job creation in the economy?

Override the presidents assent to set up a paramilitary outfit that would be paid by the same fed. Govt ? Is this some joke of some sort. Honestly there’s nothing wrong in believing you’re right but there is also something called facts which must always be considered. We need jobs yes but what the fvck is Peace Corps!!!! We have police! if indeed the youths want to serve there country as security personnel I think it would be wise to join existing forces. We barely have it right with the Nigerian police and their methods and some unwise people think it’s wise to add something new that duplicates an existing commission it makes no sense to me. Grow and improve the Nigerian police with the available resources and also equip and educate them. The Nigerian police have a long way to go so please there is no need to make it longer focus on what we have grow and strengthen it, but if the National Assembly thinks otherwise then maybe they can show passion by offering a part of their salaries towards the Peace Corps then and just maybe then I might feel their sentiment

Everybody saying no need for peace corps. Peace corps exist in other countries and besides its a uniform youth organization under youth and sport ministry not under interior. The truth be told, the police can't provide adequate security and our border and villages are porous to insecurity. In this villages and small towns you need to drive for at least 30 mins on full speed to get to the police station. Sign the bill and let them police the villages and let the police take charge of cities and metropolis. Community clashes and land dispute can easily be settled before crime is committed. Police will only come and pack dead bodies as usual and instead of restoring peace will leave this villages to another p. We need the Peace corps and it will not cost the FG like police and the rest. Peace corps will generate revenue for the government in nation building activities.
