With trembling hands and a bleeding heart, I woke drunk Toshiba who was snoring his life away and obviously dreaming of a nice time he would have the next day. He didn't wake, so I called Jennifer with my number.

She explained to me that she has been in the village with Toshiba and that she was surprised to hear from me cause she knew I was in Lagos. She apologized and said she was letting go for good this time that Toshiba was such a great liar.

I was frustrated, here I was mourning my baby and he was happily frolicking with a girl he knows cheated on him. I woke him up angrily and was like, "So it's Jennifer's matriculation you wanted to attend and you lied to me?" He acted very sleepy like he didn't hear me but I was convinced his defense mechanism was already fully awake at the mention of Jennifer and matric.

"Honim why are you doing this to me, why" I said and started crying, he didn't pity me instead he stood up, carried the bedsheet and went to the parlour to lay down. I followed him and was hoping a bit of my tears would get to him but I was wrong. Instead, he bounced on me and started hitting me like I was his punching doll. He slapped me severally that I almost lost an eye.

When he was satisfied with the condition he left me, he went into another room locked it and slept off. I forgot I was crying for infidelity cause my left eye was just blank. All I saw with my left eye was darkness. I prayed to God to at least let me see and I would leave the marriage for good.

In the morning, I was grateful all I had was swollen eyes that could see. He woke up and started preparation to embark on his Journey and I just couldn't say a word. While he was bathing, I called his Father and told him everything and how he hit me soo hard because I confronted him.

He seemed to be a very obedient boy to his parents, so as soon as he got the call from his father, he mellowed like a wet mice. I don't know what they might has discussed but he came to me, knelt down and started apologizing to me. He said he acted under the influence of alcohol and then I asked him why he lied to me, of course he started blabbing.

He said he was the one who encouraged Jennifer to enter the University so it would have been nice if he was there on her matriculation to cheer her on. Again,I bought the lie and they lie that Jennifer was just lying to me about their being together. He gave me his phone to make a call or text Jennifer anything I wanted. My heart wanted to type "baby am sorry, can we meet later after the matriculation, my wife just found out about you" but my hand typed "bitch stare clear off my me, else you wouldn't like what I would do to you". She replied immediately "stop chasing me allover and face your damn wife".

Then again, he laughed and said she was such a joker. He helped me massage my eye lumps with hot water and then he took me to an eatery where he got me chicken and a bottle of coke, to say am sorry, with my money.

Chapter Fifteen

Money kept going off my account and I just wouldn't have it. I kept dying in silence cause I didn't want my parents to interfer in my young home. Each time I confronted him about the way he makes withdrawal and yet he comes home empty handed saying no one came to punt, he would get sooo angry and start giving me the silent treatment so I stopped asking.

One-day, while I was making dinner, I noticed he was engrossed with a chat he was having with someone called Tochi. Whether he noticed I was in his back or not, I couldn't tell but he asked her how her boyfriend was doing and she said "hmmmm fine." And then he was like "you love this your boo o" babe was like "lol" and he said "e suppose br like that nah".

Then he turned around, saw me and asked if I had been there all along and I said no. He told me to come lay on his chest and I happily did. He continued the chat but this time he just rushed the discussion and was like talk to you later. I lay on his chest memorizing the number cause to me, I knew something wasn't right and I had to dig everything all up even though it kills me.

In the morning, I made a very delicious Vegetable noodles which fetched me a million praises and then he dressed up and headed to his Soo called bet shop. My phone as at then was faulty and cause of the poor my network in his village, and in a bid to be a faithful devoted wife, I never bothered to get it fixed.

So I noticed he left his browsing phone at home and I was like why would he forget such. He told me the password to his phone after the first beating I got so I had my way around his browsing phone. Anytime I wanted to check his phone secretly, I observed he was faster than me so I never caught anything that would warrant I raised an eyebrow.

So, I turned his phone on and quickly activated his network just so I could get Whatsapp messages but none was forthcoming. I was tempted to call him a saint till I went directly to the whatsapp and saw that his whatsapp application has expired.

I texted the Tochi girl and asked her if she was aware that the person she was chatting with was married and she quickly texted back "Jesus Christ!!!!!". She called me almost immediately and said she don't believe me that it was her boyfriend I was talking about here.

Then I knew I was been played the previous night when he was purposely asking her about her boyfriend. She doubted me and demanded for proof else she calls her boyfriend to report me to him. I had no choice than to renew his whatsapp which took very long to download cause of poor Network.

I finally did send her our wedding pictures and she was shocked. She said I should hold on for a second, then she did a conference call and connected Toshiba on the line. She asked him about his marital status and right to my ears, Toshiba denied ever been married.

The girl told him that the news was allover school and he replied that it was all fallacy. I was already crying on the phone and I guessed Tochi heard me, cause she quickly dropped the call and called me personally. She consoled me and told me I had to be strong for my home. Then she asked me if I knew Toshiba's where about and I told her he went to the shop. She started laughing uncontrollably.

"Toshiba shop?" She asked then she hived a sigh and said "go and check if your husband is in the shop o" she told me they booked an appointment in Owerri that day but she couldn't make it and she tried telling him o. Whatsapp but he wasn't online. She told me that my husband was probably in Owerri chilling as we spoke.

I called Toshiba after speaking with Tochi and he picked and was like "my pretty wife how are you doing?". Hmmmm I was speechless but after about a second, I started pouring out my heart to him. I told him everything he said on the phone with Tochi and this time he was speechless then he started.

"You are mad! Very stupid and crazy!, Who is feeding you those lies?" He said he was going to deal with me once he got home. I didn't need a soothsayer to tell me to run, run as far as my legs could carry me..

If Sapphire truly valued herself, she wouldn't have gotten lost loving a useless man. It's even beginning to annoy me the way she always cries after one discovery, and the stupid fool always taking advantage of that to blow her head off with more lies.

No one is supposed to be this weak. If you can't be strong for yourself to know when to walk away, then you must hold the world's record of the weakest of all times!
