Amen God will prove himself once more.
onegentleguy:

I had a lengthy chat with him ealier today.
Its not been easy but the search for his daughter Chibugo is still on. ...while also exploiting other avenues that might be of help.

U did well by saying a prayer for her. ...pls lets all continue to pray fervently for the release and safe return of that innocent girl.
We can also help keep up the spread of the news or support her search in any way we can.
...like I said before, God can use one of us here to save that innocent child.

In all, I have total faith and strongly believe that she will return home to them hale and hearty !!
FOR OUR GOD ALMIGHTY WILL PROVE THAT HE IS GOD. ...HE HAS DONE IT MANY TIMES IN THE PAST, AND WILL SURELY DO IT AGAIN !!

IT IS WELL.

The National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) on Thursday took over UNIC Insurance Plc.
The take over is coming on the heels of the Commission’s drive to sanitise the sector and ensure safety of policyholders investment in the sector.
Although, UNIC Insurance has been unable to pay claims to policyholders and had weak financial result, the Commission is yet to state its reasons for taking over the firm. Sources within the sector said the board of the firm has been sacked while a four man interim board to pilot the affairs of the company for the next six months has been contituted.
The interim board is chaired by NAICOM’s former Director of Finance and Accounts, Chief Samuel Ordu while Theophilus Eke will serve as its interim Managing Director. Other members are Ifeyinwa Ann Momah and Nicholas Shaiyen. The interim board has an initial period of six months to do a forensic audit on the firm’s financial position as well as point out the corporate governance failures observed in the course of reviewing the financial statements of the company.
It was also learnt that the Commission is prepared to intervene in more companies. Few days ago, the Commissioner for Insurance, Mohammed Kari said there is an urgent need for consolidation between the firms. He said aside the underwriters, all other insurance operators especially brokers would also need to consolidate.
Kari said the resolution to consolidate was reached and agreed upon by the regulator and operators at the Insurers Retreat held recently in Abeokuta, Ogun State. He further advised operators who are seeking or may want to seek for a new operating license to acquire some of the existing weak companies. He said consolidation will enable the companies to strengthen themselves financially.
He stressed that the Commission found that out of 27 companies, only 6 or 7 have paid dividend in last 3 years.

Next action is forceful takeover by a new investor.

More confusion!!!!

I thought what is listed now on the NSE is UNIC Holdings?

Is NAICOM taking over UNIC Holdings or UNIC Insurance? Is NAICOM taking over the ownership or only sacking the management?

I guess it will only be the insurance arm but this will have a significant effect on the entire holdings. If I might ask what is/are the business of the holdings, what impact do the other arms have on their financial results, can the other arms come to the rescue of their main arm UNIC just as the other arms of FBNH rescued FBN?

You are spot-on on the bolded part...Obviously, no corporate governance and too risky to play long term with the stock. This was part of the issues the financial reporting council code of corporate governance developed by the brilliant Jim Obazie was supposed to address before powerful forces killed it.

Though won't be bad for JIJO anyways.... grin wink

MSCI ADDITION FOR 8 MARCH 2018/GENERAL MARKET COMMENT

Selling continue. Of particular interest is the selling of UBA, the fund seems to be selling at a loss. What this implies is that the fund will continue selling and may not add new units of this stock at least for now.

Caution: This is for information purpose only. Data used are assumed to be correct. However, you may want to verify the data from an appropriate source.

Since our market operates T+3 then I guess those who bought into UCAP today might not be qualified.

That is why registers are closed for 3 to 5 days after mark down.

If you are just buying. N15 could be expensive. Such a stock should be bought at (50-60)% of 52 weeks high.

I am more stubborn. It's not a do or die affair for me. It's either it comes down for me to buy or others will buy at this price or higher.

On the 23rd of February 2018, total released it's result with DY similar to what NASCON is paying. Price pulled back immediately by 5% and gained as much as 17% right afterwards.

I have seen this same pattern over and over and it keeps repeating itself. Investors behave in very similar ways, and someone who can patiently study how they behave and react to situations does not need to have any special knowledge of FA or TA before making money from the market.

Matter of fact, it's the "science" behind TA

My brother not a trader. but an investor, other things count, and everything fit together before trigger is put.
noting certain, I go for a profit of 100%. Patience is golden. More so reversal is not same thing as re-tracement.

I mostly concern myself with the short term, and my post was directed at those who trade. Essentially, I expect a slight pull back in price from yesterday's close followed by a short term rally.

I could be wrong though as mendes will say cheesy

If you bought at average price of N5 and still holding like bigjay, you don't need to fear. Because this will give you a Yield on cost of 30%.

However your post shows that you are waiting for 100%. Meaning that at the current price, your 100% has not been achieved.

Godspeed.
