My Nonimmigrant visa interview was on the 13th of February which was approved. The consulate officer gave my the visa collection form and asked me to pick up my visa in 3-4days. At about 4:24pm I was called on phone to scan and send her the supporting documents I presented during my interview and that my visa may take longer than 4days as I was told during my interview.

After a week, I started following up with calls and email to know the status of my visa. 2 weeks it changed to DOCUMENT DELIVERY INFORMATION . I allowed it for 3 days then call the visa section and was told my visa is undergoing administrative processing. It been 24 days now since my visa was approved and passport never delivered for collect. I sent many emails and calls cos I work in Dubai and needed to return to work and also my program in the US is coming up in week time but all their responses was for m to have patience and wait.

Has anyone here experience this kind of frustrating and mysterious process before and what was the outcome?

I was the guy that missed his appointment yesterday because my ds-160 form did not match with my appointment letter.

The story goes thus, the man helping me out was not an agent and we’re both doing the registration together cuz i don’t want story that touches. I was initially using his friend’s home address on New Orleans as the place i will be staying if i eventually get the visa.

But things went south when he submitted my ds-160 a day before the interview which made me got mad at and never said anything. He collected 10k for scheduling of appointment, after i was turned back yesterday, I got infuriated and told him i knew everything from onset from the 10k and all that.

He got angry and had to cancel all the conference payment he did, told his friend am not coming and decided to leave me all alone. Now I’m dumbfounded cuz i don’t know where to start from. He gave me the email which he used to book the appointment and told me to do it on my own since i know about it. I’m confused now, i don’t want to loose my visa fee payment, am just sad and don’t want to beg him cuz i felt he shouldn’t have collected 10k for appointment. The conference is coming up by April 21-24.

I told him he can do it himself and wanted to guide him through but the username and password for booking appointment is an issue. The agent created an email address for him and used it during the last appliance my friend has no access to the email address and password neither the username for booking an appointment. How do we resolve this issue to.ensure he reapplies without going through this agent?

He claims he feel insulted and his not even charging me for anything but i guess his extorting me stylishly. I was actually thinking of giving him a very huge sum after the whole process. That’s all that transpired between us.

Why will you stay at his friend's place (is this what you filled in your DS160?) while attending a conference? Why not use hotel reservation?

Yes, I will be staying at his friend’s place throughout the conference. He said he paid for the conference but i didn’t see any proof of payment.

it can not be done... unless you want to fill another form from your submitted form.

Research the step for ammending the ds 160. The first page of this thread has it.
Research the steps for booking / changing dates. The US website has it. Stated in very simple terms.

His an elderly man, he works with the Federal Government, all his family are in UK. He came back from UK recently and we video chat for proof while he was away. So i never thought he could have or will do anything to misled me cuz he has his own money too. The $400 is meant for the conference. I did not pay him aside from the 10k and $400 for the conference.

Agent are not poor and if he's honest with you he will give you a copy of the payment receipts at the end of day...this is something you can do yourself.

He can call the embassy and tell them he can't get access to this profile that he want to open another one... it may take time but they will do it for him.
