Overdose ke? Nigga has always been an irony and the exact opposite of his name. He had potentials but when you check out his discography, you're left with a nigga who should have gone by the stage name "underdose".

Oga, you know you're not suppose to be on this thread abi? We're talking about rappers, not cars oh!

Let me check if there's another OD that raps in Naija, Because I'm not sure you know the real one.

Will jealousy allow M.I Ababa include Olamide and other prominent Nigerian rappers? When it come to Africa rapping , I think Sasha still remain one of the best, but she has disappeared to God no where.

Lol. If you knew me on Nairaland from way back, you'd know I used to be very active on the music/radio section, before I moved into auto biz. I know OD well but I must tell you he had the potentials to be a microphone wrecker, and weight-in as a pound-for-pound punchliner but he just didn't live up to expectations. How many OD songs can you list? Let's start from there.

Mr Incredible is right, this people he listed are more of rappers than olamide mixed genres of music, today's he's a "local" rapper tommorow he's into something else, no consistency. While his beef if I'm to say with vector is cos, since vector started singing instead of doing more of rappers he's gotten off MI's list of Rappers. If Gino were to be consistent that guy would have been my number 1 naija rapper. He's NO BE GOD still sounds fresh and good
My guy, Na these guys dey sell o. Being versatile is more profitable in the music industry

This is why I don't like it when RAP is tendered in public for discussion. Every single dick will want to talk even when they know nothing.

You and the person you quoted are BIG fools, what do you know about rap young man? And when did you started listening to rap music

Vector is of no match to MI in any level..Mention MI works and Vector's.....!

You think is about throwing nursery school rhymes.

MI is a complete poet and...

Go and check M's discocraphy before you spit thrash.

From Illegal Music 1 -An artistic definition dope

To

Talk About It- which still holds the record for Album with the fastest and highest number of sales. 30,000 copies in 30 minutes

To

The Movie- which further Completely uplifted the rap scene back then and paved way for this genre to get attention in the industry.

To

Illegal Music 2- One of the sickest mixtape a true lover of rap will listen to

To

Chairman- All versatile album that shows that MI is a genuis.

To

Ilegal Music 3- A classic.

Now

Rendevouz- spontaneous display of success and what it means to blend into the times

Together with other singles, tracks, series of features , accolaades and host of protege MI no be vector mate in anyway you grab..

This is why he is the most successful rapper so far. You think it's easy to record such success with genre like Rap most especially when you did not sell out to singing..

Now mention just 5 Vector songs with good raps, just his tracks not works.. feel free to ad king kong grin lol

E just de pain me say I have to make this reply..
No single rap head who have followed the works of both artist overtime will dare compare both.

Everyone knows Vector is good. But don't come close to M.

Oya run comot for here before I wipe you this tennis batt!

Bless you, your head is there ni

everytin in nigeria is profit profit that's why nigeria has lost it's standing musically and foreign labels left the country in droves
even mumble rappers abroad actually RAP
this is not about who is richer
dr dre and diddy are richer than kendrick lamar yet kendrick just won 5 grammys(which i don't use in rating musicians esp rappers) and is far and above a better rapper

In my own opinion which I deem generally fit for any true hip hop head. For the AT M.I needs to substitute that ghost guy for any of the ones I mentioned and for his RN kaligraph and Ghost should be far off the list... Its not all about jiggling rhymes or whatever ,its all about the impact and what you've done for the culture. There's more to rap than tangling words to make them rhyme. Hip hop heads should know what am talking about.
It seems like you don't know much about "show dem camp" go and look for their album and listen you will see their contributions to the culture and you will understand why he selected ghost.I've watch a freestyle session of Mi and ghost and some other artist in the studio and ghost killed it...But for kaligraph I don't know much about him so I won't say.

The truth is, all the SA rappers are american wannabe!
They wantvto be like the Americans. even cassper confessed to this on sway in a freestyle. A very poooooor freestyle. and AkA pls! That is a drake wannabe. he wants to sing like him gets accolades like him.

Only Nasty C and kwesta moves me In SA.

And for M.I , who made him the judge and jury
I can only have one M.I track (money) the rest are just pain to the ears, the albatross of his music is always trying to rhyme every last word!!!

come on, rap is art and more. story telling, metaphor, punchline, wordplay, rhyme, delivery, tongue twisters etc.

Now M.I should stop blaming the Nigerian rappers, rap died around 2011 but buried 2012. the fans have moved to afrobeat, everybody want to dance the stress away, too drained mentally to decrypt allegories in beautiful crafted lyrics.

So what do you expect from these rappers? continue rapping? hope you know about hunger will turn rappers to singers. if piracy wasn't a thing, atleast the rappers will keep making money from album sales from core rap fans and these rappers won't be swayed to change genre.

Rappers in Nigeria are endangered species. SA rappers can't clean the feet of a typical Naija rapper if not for hunger.

example of what I'm talking about, Ace producers will rather produce for a davido before Jesse jagz e.g Donjazzy.

Show promoters will headline a davido instead of vector , example is davido and wizkid headlining a Jcole show when he visit Naija soon.

In SA a rapper can fill up a done because they have a rap culture. but in Naija only an afropop singer can fill up such because that's what the fans listen to in their respective countries.

So these rappers are helpless, so it is disgusting to think M.I can feed his ego at the disadvantage of other rappers efforts. blame the industry, blame the fans, blame piracy, blame the promoters. blame me and you that only talking about rap on Nairaland Alone but not supporting it.

U deserve a statue in imo

boss, Boogie still an upcoming, he hasn't done half of the things Yung Denzl metioned up there.. Boogie is good no doubt about that. But he still needs time.. LadiPoe is awesomely good, even Don Jazzy that doesn't even like Rap music had to sign him

The Nigerian market is not just for boogey's style. That's why he's trying to diversify by jumping on beats like maradona and the likes. Apart from the sad truth that he's not popular and rich He deserves to be in the top five. His wordplays, punchlines, rhymes, flow and poetry are exceptional.
