Dear LagosNIV/AbujaNIV,

It's me again. I on behalf of my boss, would like to use this medium to thank you for your kind consideration. He was in the US recently on invitation in Washington DC to a gathering where President Obama delivered a keynote Address. Thank you very much for granting the waiver. He told me earlier today in the office that he had also emailed your esteemed office in appreciation of your kind heart. Cheers!

Hello Lagos NIV

I submitted via dropbox since 27th Feb 2018 and was given a 221G to schedule an interview. However i could not do as asked because my CGI portal was not comming up with any date.

Iv seen your advise on this thread to people in similar situation and iv followed same by mailing Lagosniv.gov, wherein they replied that i am to schedule a follow up appointment and in case of any difficulty to contact ustraveldoc.

Iv mailed ustraveldoc severally and did not receive ANY reply. Iv also called their number severally and all they told me is to wait patiently that they could not help.

My travel date is fast aproaching and its scary seeing people in my situation still on waitlist after 3months.

Can i pay for another MRV and apply for expedited appointment?

I am applying on medical ground and judging by those iv seen in similar situation, it may be too late.

Thank you.

I applied for a B1/B2 Visa in 2015 with my daughters who are both minors. We have since visited and returned to Nigeria, but wish to renew the Visa for one of kids who will be travelling with her grandfather in June.

My question is:

1) why the CGI site not allow her have a separate profile from mine now that she is traveling without me. As the visa fee and receipt is in her name, can I submit it still with I as the primary applicant even though I did not renew.

2) What is the procedure for minor to use the Dropbox?

There have been several posts recently asking for advice as to how to present an application. Please remember the ground rules for this thread.
This thread and our FMJ thread were created so that we can provide accurate information about (1) US visa policy and (2) US visa application procedures, and dispel the many myths that seem to arise about our laws. We will answer questions relating to those topics. We will not answer questions about your individual cases, nor offer advice as to what the “chances” are that your application will be approved. We will not offer advice as to how to present your application. We will not answer abusive or insulting posts. Please post your questions in the appropriate thread, as questions posted in the wrong thread will not be answered. Posts which violate these ground rules will be deleted without a reply.

Hello olumig –

You are not required to attend. If you wish, you may send your passport containing your valid visa or a copy of your visa with your wife to her interview. This is also not required.

Hello tosinajib –

The application process for interview waiver begins in the same manner as your previous application. Visit www.ustraveldocs.com/ng and follow the instructions there. If you are eligible for interview waiver you will be given instructions on how to submit your passport and application. If your visa has been expired for more than 1 year or you are otherwise ineligible for interview waiver, you will be given instructions on how to schedule another interview.

Hello james87871 –

You should answer all questions on the DS-160 fully and honestly. If the individual to whom you are referring is a relative of yours, you should indicate that you do have a relative in the US. If you have no relatives in the US, you should answer that question accordingly.

Hello olaniyiko –

If your visa has been revoked you will need to apply for and be found qualified for a new visa. The application process is the same as the one you went through previously. Begin at www.ustraveldocs.com/ng. Any time you have had involvement with a court, either an arrest or a conviction, it is a good idea to bring copies of the relevant court records with you to your interview, as they may be asked for by the Consular Officer.

Dear Abuja NIV,

I am trying to book an appointment for a non-immigrant visa in Abuja but the earliest appointment date I saw was July 17, 2018 while the event I am supposed to attend in the United States would hold in June 2018. I scheduled the July 17, 2018 appointment date with the hope that someone would cancel his or her appointment that is sometime in May 2018 so that I can reschedule for May 2018. If someone cancels an appointment for May 2018 and its becomes free is it possible for me to reschedule to May 2018 if it becomes available later?

Dear LagosNIV/AbujaNIV,
please I have an issue with the payment category for my visa application.
According to my bank teller, i requested that i would like to pay for the F(student academic) category but the bank cashier made a mistake and paid for the B(business/tourist category).
I logged a complaint but the cashier told me it doesn't matter as both categories required same amount.
Please i would like to confirm this information and the next step to take in order to correct this if necessary.
Thank you.
