1.can I reapply this month

Hi, please how long after your delivery did you get your bill from Pediatrix? I have called over 4 times since the 20th when i had my baby and they don't have my billing information yet. They said it can take up to 30 days. I asked why it would take 30 days when they offer a prompt payment discount thats only valid for 30 days after delivery and they said they'd still honour the discount. I need to settle my bills before i leave in 2 weeks.

Also which paediatrician did you use please? My first visit alone was 120 usd.

Chinemeze17:
Hello naira landers,
Finally my missionary journey came to an end three weeks ago. I had posted my POE Waka earlier on. I used Hnwmc and Dr xydas and the bills breakdown are
Dr 2000$
Hospital 2200$ (the 200$ fee was for an observation before LO came)
Collected the non indebtedness letter from financial counselor and a zero balance but no itemized statement, I'm hoping to get that too.
Pediatricians 728$ after an initial bill of almost 1500. I called them and stated I was given a quote for healthy baby package which should be applied and honored, eventually they did and I paid over the phone and my statement and zero balance came in the mail.
Follow up pediatrician visit 69$ each visit
Pathology 179$
Birth certificate 75$ paid for expedited services

Used Qatar airways and added baby ticket for 145$
Got a same day expedited passport 165$ and applied for visa on arrival which was approved after 24hours and sent to my email, Paid 190$ in lagos
It all ended in praise, and the boot has been hung finally

Hi Adedoyin. First of all your post has been so helpful in getting all the paperwork together so big thanks to you. Please how long did it take to get your bill from Pediatrix? Its over 2 weeks since i had my baby and they don't have my billing information yet. I'd like to settle all my bills before i leave and i have just 2 weeks left. Did you do anything to fast track?

Adedoyin2108:
Good afternoon ladies

Baby girl arrived on the 3rd of January 2018 at Houston Northwest Medical Center through vaginal delivery.
Breakdown of cost:
Dr Xydas: 2000
Hospital: 2000
Induction: 200*
Stress test: 200*
Epidural: 650*
Hospital peadiatrician: 675 (the normal fee is much higher, this is the The Healthy Baby Package rate)
Pathology: 97 (after discount)
Peadiatrician(after discharge): 75
Birth certificate: 75 (plus delivery charge)
Passport: 160 (expedited)
Visa on arrival 190
*these are optional

I got baby's birth certificate 18 days after birth, 22/1; it was delayed cos of the adverse weather. It's 23 per copy but I paid 75 because I ordered it online (http://houstontx.gov/health/BirthCert/) and it was delivered to me next business day. To save time, I booked my appointment at the passport agency while waiting for the birth certificate. I booked two appointments actually, with different email addresses just in case [(https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/apply-renew-passport/hurry.html)
When booking the appointment, it's important to indicate that you need the passport same day in order to obtain a visa. After I got the birth certificate, I went for the passport interview the next day, 23/1. My husband wasn't present for the interview, but he was around for the baby's birth so we notarised in the US. If your husband isn't coming to the US, it's best to notarise the document at the US embassy before travelling to the US, notarising at a Nigerian notary public is no longer accepted. I got the US passport same day and sent the email for visa on arrival that night, got approval on Thursday 25/1 (https://immigration.gov.ng/visa-on-arrival/) and travelled on Monday 29/1 via Lufthansa. I had called Lufthansa customer care a day earlier to book a bassinet seat.
I got to Lagos on the 30th, straight to visa on arrival office, presented the approval and other docs, filled a form, paid the fee and baby was stamped in for a month.

NB: Got the Social security number in less than 2 weeks

Thanks to everyone for sharing info on this thread, God bless you all mightily!. To God be the glory!

I did at 36 weeks went with fit to fly from my ANC Dr. Port health fit to fly was not requested. Go to the airport of choice for location of port health there.
It is also quite easy to get ticket for baby.
Finally check their website for the most up to date information and possibly print it and take along on date of travel.

Do you need a Schengen visa to fly Air France?

Hello fam! Mine's a bit complicated though I've read through the entire thread but wish to state my specific situation for more clarity.

I & my family were issued US tourists visas in 2016 that are due to expire this October and we're planning to use them this month before Dropbox. But the issue is I just discovered I'm a few weeks pregnant please note: this wasn't planned at all. However, we've decided to keep it & have baby in the States which I'm due in November.
Please what is the safest option for my situation? My plan is to return to Nigeria this April & do a Dropbox in may and email the embassy a 'letter of change of intent'
Please throw more light and suggestions.... Sorry for the long epistle.
Thanks

You don't need a Schengen visa if you're only transiting through France.

The front agents are clueless about self pay patients. Ask to speak to Mary in Central Billing and give her your baby’s last name and first name (Not your name) to trace your account then you can make payments over the phone. Also look out in your mail for your Pediatrix account information, Mine came in about 2 weeks after I had my baby.

You hardly have done @the bolded, really. Your narration isn't peculiar, the thread is replete with similar cases....

Change of intent letter after Dropbox when you were already pregnant before doing the Dropbox? Issorai!

Your pregnancy is yet young if I got you right, why not just do things right? Pick the B2 option when filling your DS160, pick an option that points in the direction of "I want to birth in the US" as you move along filling the form, and apply for Dropbox. Gather and perfect your burden of proof in preparation for a call up to a follow-up interview just in case. Regards

Thank you for your response.
If I understand you well you said I should go on with the Dropbox while filling the DS160 B2 option and submit it alongside then wait to be called for interview? And yes I'm due this November? Please bear in mind that I'd be renewing together with hubby & my 2 kids. Thanks

You may not be called in for an interview, I just talked of a worse-case scenario. Key here is to gather and have a tight burden of proof and point towards "I'm planning to birth in the US" as you fill your form.

You can use the opportunity of this your upcoming visit to the US to gather part of your burden of proof if you can, that's doctor/hospital correspondence, accommodation, etc. Then your financials, perfect it.

@cookies...OmoBendel has said it all....just thought i might suggest another option that is similar.....maybe do Dropbox for your husband and 2 kids but for yourself waive the Dropbox option and just attend an interview. I'm suggesting it because some mamas after applying for Dropbox were called for interviews and these interviews cannot be expedited unlike the regular interviews.

And the time as come for Oakbend to join others.

I can authoritatively confirm that Oakbend has increased its fees by about 100% if you register and pay before the 36th week and even higher if you pay after 36th week. Epidural fees are nt optional again but however refundable for vaginal birth if not used. Hearing test is COMPULSORY now and included in their fee.

Thank God for the opportunity to have had 2 Oakbend born babies before this 'heart-paining" increase.

For more info, check Oakbend's website or ask your doctor.

Hi everyone. I am a silent reader on this thread and just thought to share my POE experience. I arrived Miami Florida yesterday via Virgin atlantic from lagos to London and London to Miami. My final destination was tampa though so i flew American airlines to tampa from Miami.

I used virgin because i wanted to break the journey and have a long wait so that i can go into london and rest for the night. So we arrived London 4.30pm and i went straight to immigration and used my existing uk visa to gain entry. The officer just asked how long i intended staying in the UK and i said 1 night cus am just transiting. He stamped me in and didn't ask any further question.

I checked into a hotel close to the airport and terminal 3 which is virgin atlantic terminal and rested for the night as my next leg of travel was the next day at 11.35. I left the hotel the next day ay 8am and got to the airport in 6mins using the Heathrow hoppa bus. I went straight to the counter to get my boarding pass as my bags were already checked in from lagos directly to Miami.

The journey to miami from london was 9 hours which was smooth. I arrived Miami at about 3.50pm US time, i went directly to the immigration but was advised to use the self service, i used the machine and printed out the receipt which was successful, then queued to see an immigration officer, it got to my turn and i was asked if i was in the US for business and i said NO that i was here to have my baby, he said how long do i intend to stay and i said 2 months. He said goodluck and stamped me in. It was so smooth that i cldn't believe it myself as i had prepared all the documents of life.

I went straight to the belt and my bags were already waiting, i didnt declare anything and i had lots of foodstuff like garri, beans, egusi, ogbono, green indomie, knorr maggi cubes, pepper, black fish, grinded crayfish and pepper soup ingredients. I just went ahead, picked my bags and that was it.

My doctors appointment is tommorrow and i will update u guys on cost and hospital shortly.

Thank u and i wish myself a successful and stressless delivery!

Please I am bit confused after reading your POE experience based on the general advise I had already gone through. So if the CBP officer does not ask you 'basic info' you don't have to tell them your reason for visiting is 'child birth'??

Please if anyone can also clarify this for me, I will appreciate it

& secondly since you didn't state your intentions to the CBP as you were not asked, were you still stamped in for 6months (as per the trend I have seen on here) or

its not a rule of thumb

I wasn’t asked and I didn’t bother saying anything because he stamped my passport almost immediately and yes I was stamped in for 6 months

MamaOO:

I ended up getting three. I got the Clek Foonf for my car, the Peg Perego Primo Viaggio for my husband’s car and the Evenflo Tribute LX for my sister’s car because she sometimes helps me pick him up from preschool or babysit him.

The Clek and the Peg Perego are expensive tho, both ran me about $850 before taxes but I decided on them because of reviews and the fact that they have very high weight limits than their competitors and can be converted to a booster seat after a while. Both the Foonf and the Viaggio also looked so cool (I’m a sucker for pretty baby gear)

The Evenflo costed me about $65 I believe, cos it’s for my sister’s car. There’s also Britax Boulevard and Marathon, Chicco Nexfit and also Diono Radian. I decided against the Chicco and Britax cos everybody’s kids use them (too common) and the Diono was too tall (I felt it will block my rear view) and because it was ugly. Lol.

Check out Safety First Alpha Elite too.
smiley cheesy wow!
I guess its hard to runaway from buying more than one.
About Chicco & Britax, smiley I know right...that's what everyone keeps recommending.
I'll look into these.
Thanks so much, I do appreciate.
