Please house, I have few qtns:
1. Do one need to make hotel bookings since we plan spending 2 nights outside our contact persons domain? We intend visiting a tourist attraction in the bodering state to my aunt who is our contact person and would not be back that day.
2. We are staying in my aunt's place so she is our contact person. Based on US & DS-160 standard, does she falls as our relative?
Thanks.

Sorry, 15th of July not possible. (It's a Sunday.)
5 days difference will not affect the visa approval, but approved visas need 3 working days minimum and you are advised not to buy the ticket until you get the visa. (You may just find that fares are too high at two days notice, or you may be extremely lucky to find a rock bottom price that close.)
Thanks

Yes, do the hotel booking, that's if that's where you will be going first before your aunt's.

Your aunt of course is your relative oh....

We are planning to go straight to my aunt in Phoenix, but our poe will be Los Angeles, CA. and on the last few days of our trip in USA. We will visit the two other listed tourist attractions in Los Angeles and catch our flight back to Lagos. Now. Do we need to state the details of the hotel we would be staying for the two nights?
Will I state in my own ds160 that my marternal aunt is my relative? What about my husband?
Also, the time lag between our proposed date of arrival in US and date of interview is 66 days. Is the interview not coming too early?

Thanks

Use the address you will be spending most of your time in the US and will help your cause, and that in this case is your aunt's if she is in right standing with the US authorities, this helps save cost as you aren't using hotel and reduce expectations of your Trip's cost in the VO's eyes, you can easily explain what you intend to do in LA and your accommodation plans for it if asked during interview.

She's your aunt and your hubby's in-law, so she's a relative to you both. No the interview date isn't coming too early, it's in fact the best approach to visa pursuit.

No, you don't have to pay ahead, look for hotels with no prepayment option.

I have a concern. I went for a US tourist visa interview 9 days ago and was granted visa. However, when I wanted to track the passport yesterday, I found out that I had filled in the previous passport's number on my ds160 form instead of the new one which was issued to me since July last year. I have not been contacted by the embassy in this regard and the passport is still with them. I'm a bit worried cos I don't know what could be the outcome of my mistake. Please does anyone have an idea of what to expect or do?

Has your US visa expired and you are being lazy to renew it? Do you intend to apply for a US visa soon? You have from now till Friday to pay the old visa fee of 64k. From 26th March, US visa fees will be 110k. Don't say I did not warn you.

Your stammering was your undoing as it calls for suspicion. You were even lucy to have a visa officer that disclosed the reason for your denial because they seldom do that

An Education Officer is on GL 08, of which the monthly salary is about 50k per month in the state with best salary structure. This is just 600k per annum.

If you're honest with yourself, someone earning less than 600k in a year won't spend a year salary on holiday.

She should factor in how to convert the "unlikely" to "certainly". It may help, but still not an assurance of visa approval. How old is the daughter?

Peeps with that kind of salary still get visas, depend on how one presents the case.. maybe the aunt is the sponsor

Worst case scenario: get a new passport and pay a new visa fee. Have you filled the form? (Hint: if you go through the thread, you will be able to see whether an applicable solution has been suggested in the past.)

You can go to check whether your passport is ready for collection. You can wait to see what happens eventually. You can write the embassy. (Perhaps you printed out now, an old DS160 form.

Both the confirmation page and appointment confirmation have your passport number. The passport number on your confirmation page is derived directly from the DS160 form, upon submission. I think that if it were incorrect, you should have been turned back at the take-in before entering the consulate. (Gurus, am I right to think this way?)

I agree with you, and in addition the old passport would have been CANCELLED WITHOUT PREJUDICE by the Nigeria Immigration Service. So it couldn't have been presented to the VO without him noticing that.
