1) Within 90 days before the start day on your i20, for example if the start date on your i20 is August 30, you can go to the embassy anytime between June 1 and August 25.
2) No its not, that is a red flag. What matters is good inflow and outflow of cash and not a huge lump sum.
3) Choose one and decline the others except you have plans of transferring to any other schools
Thanks boss

I believe if your resumption date is on the 25th of August, you can have your interview anytime from early May. I believe the rule is 120 days before resumption date and not 90 days.

For Fall 2018? Fall is in August and we are in April now and having in mind you don't have any standardized tests yet. Additionally, make up yor mind on what you want to study, both course you listed up there don't require the same requirements for Admision. Just plan towards Fall 2019 or Spring 2019, no point rushing and end up wasting money

Please who is this VO and how do I reach him directly. Alternatively, can you just post the thread on here. Thanks in anticipation.
LagosismyHome:

There is another tread where VO addresses questions. It might be best to ask the VO if a visa given in December 2016 can still be used almost 2 years later

I know if you defer within a year but 2 years seems like a lot. Make sure this confirmed with a VO or if you see the rules online in order not to run into denial at POE.

Regarding 3 months... that a big no. It 30 days to be resumption

Thank you Femi, so it’s late to apply to any school for fall? And does all schools require any means of standardized test before admission can be issued ?

Technically yes for students outside the US, before you start application, write statement of purpose, get LOR etc..we will be in july and you will end up just rushing and settle for less.Take your time and make proper planning. No not all schools require standardized tests but it advisable you avoid some schools that don't, no point going to a one building school. Start by reading this thread from page 0, you wont regret it

This may be helpful for those seeking GA in Urban design and planning:
VT’s Urban Affairs and planning program in the National Capital Region is pleased to announce several graduate assistantships for students interested in urban design. Assistantships cover up to full tuition and a monthly stipend.

Fall 2018 applications are accepted on a rolling basis, but since assistantships are competitive apply as soon as possible to be considered!

Simply check ceac.state.gov to have an idea of the current state of your application. All the best.

Alright. Start from Google first. Type google.com on your Web browser, then go to the search box and enter US schools without GRE test for graduate physics program. Follow the link and thank me later.

But when you are ready to take GRE, you can click on this link for physics graduate program. www.gradschoolshopper.com

Visa interview last week March 19
This was how it went

VO: good morning
Me: good mornings
VO: what are you going to do in the US
ME: to pursue my degree in computer science in the university of central Missouri
VO: what are your post graduate plans
ME: come back to Nigeria immediately, I have many opportunities, work with the federal government and taking over my parents business
VO: what's your parent business?
ME: cocoa merchant, they have a lot of lands in the southwest area with cocoa cultivations on it
VO: good
VO: how does this course help your parent business?
Me: they do sell the cocoa seeds to various customers which the use of computer is very essential for some transactions, so with that I'll be of great help
VO: how many schools did you apply for
ME: 3
VO: name the other 2
ME: eastern Illinois university and university of Memphis
V:O have you travelled before
ME: yes
VO: where?
ME: Ghana and Togo

He nodded his head throughout which shows cool

He sha kept typing for long that was where I knew something is happening

VO:He just suddenly said I'm sorry you don't have the requirements
He returned my stuffs

Guys where is my error

Sorry for your ill experience. Your response to the emboldened was rather too hasty, not precise but vague, had no correlation with your said program of study and lacked professionalism.
Something like;
"I plan to work with XYZ company as a data/resource analyst while handling part of my parents' business due to their old age" would have sufficed. Again, saying computer science will be used in sales sounded so absurd; if you can't relate how your program will help your parents' business or any other plan you have, please do not include such in the discussion.
Always remember that whatever answer you give must have a correlation with your program and your passion for it must be seen in the discussion. Many blessings!

Hello guys, am new here. Read a lot on this thread though. Please i need your help.

- I studied Theatre Arts and presently working as a customer care representative. I want to study Digital marketing- need your advice on this.

- I finished secondary school in 2003 and university in 2010. Do I stand a chance in doing a graduate course or do i just go for Masters.

Thank you for your answers. Please am in a desperate need of help.

Hello! If you're going for a masters degree in Digital Marketing, I doubt the VO will grant you a visa as that program doesn't relate to your Theatre Arts Bachelors. Furthermore, if you're going for a fresh undergraduate degree in Digital Marketing, it's 50/50 considering when you finished secondary school and your age.
I'm wondering, why not do a masters in any arts related field? It'll help you much at the interview.
Just a suggestion. Bless you sir

Being that this is part 13 of the thread, I know this questions would have been asked and answered, but because I lack the keywords to search it out. Please you can either refer me to the page for comprehensive response or provide me with fresh detailed answers.
Question 1:
I was admitted to Missouri S and T (to resume spring, January 2017) and given visa December 2016. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, this was deferred till Fall, September 2017. But still could not travel. I was then advised by the school to move the admission to this session, which I did and was given admission to resume Fall, 2018. Prior to this, my previous visa is still valid till December 2018.
Based on the foregoing, Can I still travel with the previous visa for this present admission taken into consideration that I am aware I need to get a new I20, which I am working on already.

Please gurus in the house, help a brother in need! Biko

Question 2:
Assuming I can travel with the previous visa with this present admission. Can I travel to the US 3 months to resumption without having problems at the Port of Entry.

Please do not travel with that visa as those immigration officers may stop you at the port of entry. Get a new visa before you travel and then again, travel only when it's close to your resumption date, say a week to resumption. Travelling three months to resumption will arouse unwarranted suspicion from the immigration officials at the POE and this may cause them to package you back to Nigeria. Blessings!
