It seems there's market sentiment against Lasaco 'cos it declared 4k dividend, almost equivalent to what Aiico declared, yet the share price is still being punished. So also contiinsure.
Imagine Sterling with just 2k dividend as well. angry
Anyway, waiting patiently for Mr. Time to do something about it. smiley

After the in-house gimmicks, there shall be a lot of Lamentation especially from those who have falling to the well plotted trap of selling now.
From what we hear and continue to hear, DF and DS are a clear make-up to be a part of 'in the NSE room'.

The pastor colleague who was invited by my big boss to a departmental party gave this out which almost attracted the prying attention of Nollywood! Midway into the party, he emptied a half bottle of brandy into his glass, when told that this brandy contains alcohol, he said 'oh I wont drink it, I will only take the glass close to my nose because I truly enjoy the aroma'. 99% of wine in Israel till date contains alcohol. Now those who were born in Agege and schooled in Ojota will argue this because they believe they are well travelled. Why wont they think so. A friend was boasting the other day 'I have been to China, Singapore, Newzealand, Port Harcourt, etc' Moved by what appeared to be an unparalleled expedition his listening friend exclaimed 'Oh boy it means you know Geographyooooo! The boasting mumu also claimed that he has been to Geography too grin grin grin grin The truth became manifest almost immediately cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy

THE VIRTUE OF INNOCENCE

God's inspired word says at Psalms 104:14, 15: "He is making grass grow for the cattle, And vegetation for mankind's use, To grow food from the land, And wine that makes man's heart rejoice, Oil that makes the face shine, and bread that sustains the heart of mortal man.'

The above Scripture is not subject to interpretation. Most of the medications prescribed today by doctors for the treatment of certain ailments contain some measure of some weeds that are easily condemned today. Some carry the condemnation to the far extreme such that they do not hesitate to say it was God himself that condemned it. Our daft congregate would not question why God would create what he would sooner condemn! But a keen observer of nature would easily understand that what is condemned is the abuse and misuse of same and not the substance itself. Every creature has a value unique for its existence.

Even the NSE has a mix of intelligent investors and the unintelligent ones who will happen to turn a difficult year into a bumper harvest, because he did not anoint his eyes to see what the so-called intelligent investors who are crippled by analysis paralysis see! My best years in NSE were the days I didn't know anything about EPS, PE Ratio, DY etc cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy undecided undecided undecided Today, that 'knowledge' has trapped me in some stocks whose existence belongs to the ancient records, thus converting me into an interesting POET. Yari' are you therehuh

No Dangote Sugar hasn't been marked down.
But I understand why ur worried though.
Qualification date was last Friday 13th, and so that should've been followed up with the markdown of its N1.25k dividend today but that was'nt the case.
A cursory look at the opening and closing prices of DS since Friday lays credence to this.
last Friday it opened at N21.90 from a previous(Thursdays) close of N22.10. ...with a day high of N22.25 and a low of N21.90 before closing at the high of N22.25.
While today it opened at N22.20 from Fridays close of N22.25. ...after making a day high of N22.25 and a low of N22.20 before finally closing unchanged at N22.25.
So it's clear that the share price hasn't been marked down for any dividend payout.

However, as I did mention here in the past, the act of marking down a coys share price following a dividend declaration, is part of the process of updating the coys database, which is the closure of register.
So aside the usual tradition of effecting the markdown the day or after the QUALIFICATION DATE, the share price can also be marked down anyday within the range of days of the closure of register.
...and if we are to go by that, then DS can still be marked down any day from today the 16th until Friday the 20th of April. (...which is their closure of register)

The most important thing however is to ensure u met the QUALIFICATION DATE. ...as I've repeatedly highlighted here, just concern urself with the QUALIFICATION DATE, which was Friday the 13th. ...for that's all u need as an Investor.
...and as long as ur eligible, then just leave the small matter of when its gonna be marked down for the company and their registrars to handle.

Regards !!

Yes its best to be behind him.
But with certain coys, been behind him means keying in on time and holding on before he arrives !!
More than anything else, it involves having some 'precious gem stocks' in ur investment portfolio and not ur trading portfolio.
Otherwise u just might miss out on been inside the moment Mr TIME unexpectedly arrives and shuts the entrance door !! wink cheesy
...because then, ones state of mind would usually travel thru the route of CONFUSION and then eventually become friends with Mr LAMENTATION !! wink cheesy

So if I buy today and I know I will not qualify for dividend and the stock will soon be marked down by N1.25. Who does that kind of investment.. What I see is that the qualification date has automatically change to the date it will be marked down
