Hi guys, its been a while. Wanted to give a little update, I waited for 3 weeks to get my SSN but it didn't come through so I went to their office to apply again. You can verify the address they have of you at the port of entry so you would be sure they have the right address to mail your social security number to.

As regards medicals, if you dont have immunisation records they would charge you for that depending on the hospital its mandatory.

I know its a long wait, but just be a patience my people it would all be worth it. As per career you can start looking at what you would like to do while you wait. For me I switched to I.T and it payed off cos its in high demand here so put that in mind while you wait.

I concluded my medicals last week at Qlife. I paid N78125 including the immunization. Although the last shot of one of the vaccines which should be taken in a month's time wasn't included in the bill. They will advise you to take the last shot elsewhere but if u desire to come back to them for it, then u have to pay about 19k.
I went twice and waisted my flight and accommodation because the radiographer who was to take my chest x-ray didn't come to work because of family emergency and there was no one to deputize. My second visit to Lagos last weekend was Smooth as I had my x-ray in less than 10minutes.The result comes out in 10 working days.
My sister and her kids had theirs in Abuja and the result came out in 3 working days. Her kids paid less than 40k each whereas she paid 82k.
When I called the children's practice prior to my medicals at q-life, they told me 82k excluding immunization.

I don't know cos he said he used The children's practice and he paid 110k. Don't know why he paid that much cos the children's practice told me adult medicals is 100k when I called.. Even me I don't have immunization records. I've misplaced that of my 2boys. Its only their baby brothers own I have now, cos he's a few months Old.
But my friend told me its not a big deal if you don't have immunization records.

You welcome. One more thing, you mentioned your sis and her kids, she's also on F2B right? Which means she is Unmarried? How old are her kids. Are you both having your interview the same day? If yes to all, would love to know how her interview went. Cos I hear sometimes the V.O's ask children questions too. My first son is 5 and the other is 2, if the V.O's do ask the kids questions sometimes, especially the older kids, I no fear @ all. My little man is capable by his grace. That boy is eager to join his grandma.

Your Brother still has like 3yrs more. As at now, $445 for each applicant + medical fees for each person depending on d hospital of ur choice. u will have to wait for like a year max to get a visa after receiving welcome letter.

Yes my sister is also on F2B. We were all on F1 but when I noticed sometime last year that F1 was behind F2B by wide margin, I triggered the opt out clause and we were all returned to F2B. My sister's interview is on 8th May and she will be going with her kids. Her first child is 5years old too.

There is a particular paragraph that explains how the piority date system works it states that for example, if the monthly target is 3000 applicants and the demand is 8000 applicants, they would establish a cut off date so that only 3000numbers would be allocated. So the cutoff would be the piority date of the 3001st applicant. I guessthis explains why you havent received your IL. Hang in there, u will definitely receive your IL EARLY next month.

Thank u my Sister. I've got no choice than to wait patiently since I'm already at the end of the tunnel. The funny thing is that I got a case complete since last year September but since my PD wasn't current then, NVC had to keep it till it gets current recently. We shall all get there someday, It's just a matter of time. F1 used to be the fastest , only God knows why it started moving slowly lately.

U argued with me sometimes ago that from the period one gets a welcome letter to when one gets a visa does not exceed a year. If I get my IL next month, that means I already exceeded a year cos I got my welcome letter last year May. Except if u meant from welcome letter to when one gets IL...

Got my welcome letter in September, filled my forms with nvc in October and in December I was sent a mail that all requested documents have been received by NVC and that I am now in queue awaiting an appointment with the embassay, don't know if that is what you mean by case complete.

My mum recently called NVC to find out what's up, and to ask questions on how things are done. I also got my case completed in September, but cos I had another baby, we had to include also to the case. She asked them to explain better what they mean by cases expiring after 1yr when its still at NVC. They told her once a case is complete and already in line for an interview, it doesn't expire. It is when a case is still with the owners and not complete before a period of 1yr passes, they will start the case afresh with fresh payments.

U can start the filing process right away. As an unmarried adult child of a USC, u fall under the F1 category and it takes approximately 7 years for u to get a visa. Just ask ur parents to visit uscis.gov, file an I-130 form for u and pay the necessary fees. Thousands of people file everyday, so u need to act now to get on d queue fast.

That's a CR1 or IR1 visa category depending on the years of marriage. It takes like a year or more from approval to Interview.

There is no wait time for spouse of U.S. citizens. Once approved case moves to NVC. It takes approx 1yr, depending on how fast you get ur docs submitted. Once there are no mistakes, cos mistakes causes delay.

Why did your folks have to wait till they became citizens to file for you. They would have filed as LPR's. The sooner they file, the better. You just have to wait.
