No, some people just have a really "stiff" tongue. The ones I know, the grammar is almost always impeccable, which tells me that they did go to school, they just struggle with pronunciation for whatever reason. I remember a friend some years ago. She couldn't say words correctly if two words starting with "Th" & " D" followed each other. A simple sentence like, "The dog..." became "De thog". She really struggled. I tried to help her out, in between fits of laughter. I really found it funny. We were kids though.
But now as an adult, I find it extremely unattractive.

it is a big deal because of the way some of your languages down south are spoken. We have ours in Nigeria as well e.g. Yorubas are known to drag words, hausa are known to substitute F for p and ibos are known to substitute P for B.

I usually relish some of those misspoken words down south though, particularly with the letter "B" common among Zulus. Some can't actually say bye bye probably but will rather say "pye pye".


Here in Nigerian though, Some people may actually falsify twisted tongue to sound foreign and to create an image of affluence

I don't think that's the case, because why others who speak the same language, are able to pronounce all the words without a problem? My belief is that it's an individual thing. I speak the same language as the friend I mentioned, but I don't say "Thog". LOL! In my own language, certain letters are more pronounced as well, like the "R". Our "R" is very strong & drawn out. It's "Rrrrrr". That even myself I can't change. I often find myself going extra hard on the "R" even when I'm speaking in English because I'm used to saying it like in my mother tongue. I can't help it Other than that, my tongue is fluid.
Zulu people also have an issue with "R", some substitute it with "L", because apparently there's no "R" in their language. So it's not uncommon to hear some of them say things like "Land" instead of "Rand". Others can pronounce "R" though, which is why I believe some people are just too stiff in the mouth.
