This is very simple. You know the answer yourself. You can't touch the money you fixed for a certain period. Will the maturity be before you start your program? You need to answer this when you are asked about it. The only money available for your use is the one in the savings account. Is this sufficient for the first year? Only you can answer this. So do the calculation.

Thanks so much , the money was fixed in match for 3 months and my program start in July so that answers it.

The reply to that question comes naturally. No one except yourself can say why exactly you like the school. It could be the program courses, the city, prominent alumni the school has produced, cost (affordable or expensive), reputation etc. 1001 reasons exist but only you certainly can genuinely say why you picked the school

Very solid advice. I read somewhere Homeland security will start checking phones, social media etc of incoming travelers. I know it is not finalized but its better to be safe than sorry. Also its very important as you highlighted not to watch over or leave your luggage with someone especially if you plan to use the restroom or fall asleep. Trust NO ONE. Great advice from OP
abeeolars:
All the best to those students resuming this summer. Do have a safe trip...... Few things to remember, clear any unnecessary and implicating documents, images, videos (delete all forms of militants, boko haram, videos relating to terrorist attacks or other forms of killings that you may have received through broadcast), discussionss. Confirm if you have accomodation (if you have a long night stop over), take thick clothes for airplane and arrival, the weather is warm in most states now but just to be double safe. Travel light; dont carry too much luggage, dont help or assist anyone to carry or keep their luggage and dont give anyone yours to hold for you. Double check your admission date and ensure you are not travelling rather too early before your resumption)

I wish you all a wonderful time here in the Usa. For those coming to Texas, you can pc me to link up sometimes.

How about you do undergrad in Nigeria and pursue Masters abroad? Come to think of it, when you calculate the costs of visa fees and all the expenses for visa interview, it runs into thousands of naira. You probably need to consider other options. Ghana , Nigeria or SA.

I totally agree with you on this. Their is a quota for visas allocated per year or whatever the case. There are cases whereby people feel they did and said everything right but still got denied. Favor plays a big part in this sort of situations. Some people dont believe in favor but it sure works. I got my Graduate Assistantship after the person who got picked declined the job. I was offered the position 3 weeks later, (after I had gotten a 'Thank you for applying but you were not picked blah blah' and I had even forgotten about it). I advice people to put in their best effort in getting prepared and leaving the rest to God
Lovelywings:

Honestly I don't think there is much one can even learn from the OPs experience. The VO was just looking for a reason to deny you - probably because in general America is being more stringent now. Any school's website contains thousands of data. How would you know which to memorise overnight? What if your favourite professor died and they updated the info. What if instead of changing the data overnight the IT guy happened to be awake and decided to do it at 6am west Africa time when you're in traffic?

By all means verify as much as you can. But we need to accept that luck (or bad luck) also plays a role and it doesn't follow that just because you were denied you deserved to be denied. I assure you that same VO when they were being interviewed for the job made some mistake. Yet she got the job. But because the demand for US visa exceeds supply, she/he gets to pretend that the reason for denial is because of something you did wrong, as opposed to prejudice or her having a stomach ache. What if she just didn't like the style of clothes you were, saw them as outdated and judged you for that? We can ever know so we can't control everything.

I say all this as someone who was never denied a US visa. Prepare, but pray and hope.

I think you need to complain to the school regarding your course, i was in dis shoe sometimes last year i applied 4 mech engr CSU offered general studies, the young guy who interviewed me made me realise US schools don't gv u course u dnt apply 4, ah was trying 2 let him undastand but he stood on his words. My advice for u is to let the school knw about dis and get a major course, dah general studies looks like 1 has no dream. Sorry 4 the delay.

Yeah, I think you could use the school's address if that's where you intend to stay...

Please here is my new proposed transcript for the second time.. I’m reapplying..
VO: what has changed on your profile??
Me: I added my present school (that is I’m in one of the Nigerian universities)
VO: what do you study in the university?
Me: philosophy
VO: why do you want to change from philosophy to liberal arts?
Me: I’ve always desired to study liberal arts which my present university could not offer me.. besides liberal arts will help me in terms of peace keeping,
disputes settlement, peace building in individual and in the nation at large.. it will also help me in the ethical aspect.. which is the science of moral conduct to impact morals on every members of the public.
VO: why do you want to change from your present school to the US??
Me: my present school could not offer liberal arts as a course of study which I’ve desired to study all my life..my present school could only offer classroom education which education is far more than that.. we have little exposure to wide range of knowledge apart from the classroom.. the administrative processing is kind of slow due to low employees..
VO: why don’t include your present school in your Ds-160 at first??
Me: I thought it was not needed due to the fact that I was admitted base on my high school transcripts and results..
VO: what are your plans after graduation??
Me: I intend coming back to Nigeria and work with the law enforcement agencies.. the police department to be precise..
please help me make a good addition and subtraction from the above proposed transcripts
Thanks
God bless y’all

Why not just listen to these guys and be patient? You can go for your MSC when you're done with your bsc. There's no problem with that, it's just patience.

I can bet you don't want to leave the country as much as I want to.

I'm also still in school, 4th year/5 years course and waiting to complete my bsc before going for MSC.

You can get your visa alright but my advice is just to be patient.

The reasons you gave made me laugh. Why are you struggling to distinguish between Philosophy and Liberal Arts? There is no need for this.

Note that there is nothing wrong in desiring studying abroad, as long as you (or your parents) can afford it.
