Just curious ma'am, there's a need to know, it's more or less an additional knowledge for me.

I read through a post here whereby it was stated that the SOA has to be an original copy and not scanned when going for an interview. But since his bro resides in the States, how would he get the SOA , by mail or still scanned?
Pardon me for being inquisitive

I actually got the scanned copy and it was approved by the school. However, I don't know maybe the scanned copy will be accepted during interview.

Well, i did my findings and i know little if not all about the school. i also exchanged several mails with the graduate coordinator even before i applied, my reason for posting that is just to know if there has not been issue at the embassy for people that choose this school before me.

reading the wiki of the school .... This not one man school so no , it not a red flag school

Redflag schools are usually one buliding private school with no ranking. So do you expect a public school to fall in such a category?
Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 13 by cojunior: 1:02pm On May 01, 2018
@Lagosismyhome. does that mean I need to tell him to DHL it?

your response sounds like recommendation though not a "must"

i am not a VO so cannot really say for sure . It would be my recommendation to go with original but as for copies . There is a thread where VO attends to questions, you might want to check directly with a VO

This question is best answered if you can spend a little change on data and research different schools through google and individual school websites. there you can compare and contract and arrive at an average.

All US visa is 2years but your stay is valid as long as your SEVIS record is valid!

Both work hand in hand, but its best to talk to the school about your interest in getting funded while submitting application to the school. Anyway, you can still get funded after the admission offer. Some schools can even give you funding after enrolling into the school based on availability but the earlier the better. Talk to professors in your department and Admission coordinators in your school.

Hi guys, I got a lot from this tread and I know it's only natural to give back. Visa approved on the 25th of April and this is how it went.

VO: (with a smile) Good morning.

Me: Good morning sir.

VO: How are you?

Me: I'm fine thank you? How are you?

VO: I'm fine. Thank you. (I have already passed my passport, sevis receipt and i20 to him by now). So, you're here for a student visa.

Me: Yeah.

VO: Tell me about the program you're going for.

Me: I'm going for a chemistry doctoral program at Florida State University. I'd be taking courses in Molecular biology, cell biology, bioinformatics... (he motioned for me to stop).

VO: Tell me about your background.

Me: I have a bachelors degree in Chemistry and Masters degree in analytical chemistry. I currently work at a Pharmaceutical firm as a Medical Sales Representative (motioned me to stop. He was typing all along).

VO: So your 2nd degree is from University of Ibadan?

Me: Yes

VO: And you've being working at a pharmaceutical firm since...

Me: February last year (he nodded).

VO: how many other schools did you apply to?

Me: five others.

VO: five in total?

Me: no. Five others aside FSU.

VO: oh... Six in total. Who's paying?

Me: I got a graduate Assistantship (nods and reaches for white paper).

VO: I have approved your visa. Congratulations and have a good day (I didn't here more than this).

Me: Thank you. Have a good day too.

Thanks to everyone in here whose stories have one time or the other inspired hope.

Please gurus in the house ..help me look into my new proposed transcript
Addition and subtraction is welcomed.. thanks
VO: what has changed on your profile??
Me: I added my current school which means I’m in one of the Nigerian university
VO: what do you study in that university??
Me:: philosophy
VO: why do you want to change from philosophy to liberal studies??
Me: I desired been a public relations specialist and having a university degree in liberal studies will help me in terms of disputes settlement.. peace making, peace building in individual and in the nation at large..
It will also help me in terms on impacting some ethical knowledge on most of Nigerians which are chaotic and people who keeps bad company for the betterment of the society..
VO: how many schools did you choose??
Me: I chose 3 schools
VO: can you mention them??
Me: CSU, ISU and DCC
VO: can you give me some reasons why you chose these schools among others??
Me: they all give a wide range of knowledge about liberal arts among other schools.. like CSU has a play square in downtown which is the second largest in the American district which allows liberal studies and some other social sciences course have some basic education apart from learning in the classroom.. so also ISU has Stephens auditorium which helps provide extra first hand knowledge apart from the one gained in the classroom
CSU Maxine Goodman college also helps the liberal arts students in terms of excursions field trip and lots of researches.. so also ISU also get support from two other universities in Ames and Des Moines in terms of researches ..
Thanks in anticipation
God bless you all
