You have no right whatsoever to attack Covert1 because you have a contrary opinion to his. It seems you just learnt a new word, so why not try it out on Nairaland.

If you have a disagree with Covert1, state your reasons not to attack him.

Are you trying to say he is wrong and the MI-35m isn't the work horse of Russian Aerospace forces in Syria, despite the presence of the MI-28N and the KA-52?
That was never the argument! Stop trying to defend the indefensible.

Brah, you are the one who jumped into the discuss, going nuclear on Covert1...
Instead of making it obvious that you have ax to grind with Covert1 in a discussion you were not part of, you should have just presented your own "fact" on how Covert is wrong.

I believe deserves your apology. cool
Gentleman! As you were!

The price for the 12 Mi-28N delivered to Iraq was $1,2 billion, the 24 to Algeria over $4 billion - more than what you spent on your Mi-35 and Tucano combined.

So, yes, cost is exactly why. There is nothing wrong with that.

If 4 billion/24= 166 million dollars each.

You are a hopeless liar.

Algeria have over 42+ MI28.

Iraq have 17 in service and 19 still on order.

MI 28 might be better than MI35M but price is not the determining factor.

My argument is attacking the personality of any person just because they hold a contrary opinion. That's unacceptable.

The problem is when your opinion is completely false and you peddle it as fact, and then when people correct you(in a respectful manner i might add) you respond with this: See your shallow thinking -- expensive to you mean more modern and sophisticated, sry for u, that thinking (which actually is the problem across the board in ur country)

And which actions led you to that statement. The super tucanos or the helicopters, or is it the OPVs from China or the t72s or whatever. Please explain what you have seen that led to "which actually is the problem across the board in ur country"

Good comparison. Super Tucano is not a jet. It is a slow turboprop aircraft but in terms of accurate munition delivery on to a ground target from stand off distances, it is better than more powerful aircraft

...a multi-role offensive asset that gives the Nigerian Air Force great capability to hit the enemy before they know what hit them...enemy air defences and strategic installations are some of the kill options.

OMG

Do you say these things with the intention of de-railing the thread?

tucanos are for use in uncontested airspace
https://www.airforcetimes.com/news/your-air-force/2018/02/20/a-light-attack-aircraft-fleet-could-it-change-the-fight-or-put-lives-at-risk/

This is my problem with you. You have to constantly pretend things are as they are not. Why cant you accept things are as they are?
Tucano is an awesome LICW platform - leave it at that
The Mi-35M is an excellent medium-cost force multiplayer - leave it at that.

My mistake, i can post the source i used if you want.

It works out to $16-18 million per aircraft, the Mi-35M $12,5

Last I checked this is a platform for African Militaries. Maybe you learn to comprehend my posts in that context and my choice of words.

We are not planning for war with Russia or China that have those kind of advanced and dense air defenses or military installations—such hardly exists in this region and where it does Nigeria has no geo-political ambitions.

Still in this region whilst the anticipated NAF A-29 Super Tucano' may be limited by speed compared to fast jets it's full compliment of weapons system gives it comparative advantage over what currently obtains and can be employed in SEAD from a stand-off position.

For different environments and threats are different solutions. There's always a combination of forces for effect.

Today hardly anyone risks flying over enemy airspace to be shot down but if NAF pilots could do that with Alpha Jets in foreign lands targeting key enemy installations and air defenses under fire then it can do much more with the incoming A-29 Super Tucanos.

Besides NAF' New Mi-35M are not cheap ok! And don't take too much of all you read online. A lot of it is the work of lobbyists. The reality is much much different. You can't dampen Nigeria's pride however you try whatever innuendos you use.

Get over it and get some sleep.

Anyone here ever notice that each time Nigerian Military disclose a purchase, this thread goes nuts and people start hurling insults at one another.
If you little girls can just grow up, that would be nice.

Nice pics; the NA should get these MRAP in large numbers. Another thing @henry I didn't notice any radio antenna on these ARA MRAP, i have't seen any of them with one.

And I think it would be sexy if most of the ARA are painted in desert camouflage since most of them would be deployed to the north east.

His it the NA that would install radio/com's gadget on them. Just observing.

You're right bro. I have also not noticed any. Perhaps they'll be installed by the Nigerian army later on.

I also agree, the vehicles will be way finer in desert cammo. Besides they are going to be deployed in the northeast. I don't understand why Proforce keeps painting the vehicles in jungle cammo.

On the radios, we'll have to wait and see.

Radios are easy to install.
My educated guess is it was deliberate by ProForce.
The Army has their own set of frequencies and will install it themselves.
