We need six (6) nos of a 4++ Gen Heavy Combat Aircraft to balance capabilities. The ability to go from a remote airfield in Nigeria to take out a threat in a neighbouring country or in the gulf of guinea. This is very important.

I also agree

Baba, F7 can't deliver the way JF17 will deliver.

The range of weapons the JF17 can be armed with is another point.

Super tucano will be too slow to respond to certain threats and F7 can't fill that gap.

We've not even talked about protection of air space against enemy aircraft.

This list can keep going on and on

As i've said earlier, Nigeria will be more interested in the JF17B variant.
However you don't need the F-7 to do that job anymore, the Super-Tucano will now do that. Have you seen the range of weapons and bombs we are getting with the Tucanos?......... It's incredible. It makes the F-7 useless in ground attack.

F-7 will fill the gap in the interim while a proper capable jet is sourced. The Tucano and F-7 can and will be able to respond to the threats we are likely to face. The Tucano is sub-sonic, doesn't mean it is slow. The aircraft can fly at 7000km an hour.

The F-7 will do all the protection until a good jet is bought.

What is the benefit of moving from 3.5 - 4, when you already have an aircraft that can fill that gap between 3.6 - 4. We should instead focus on 4.5.

I would have agreed with this, but only six units don't really change anything. 18 units of the same type of MIG Egypt got should be our absolute minimum.

Combat range at this point no longer makes any meaning. We don't fly our jets far from the border, so that's no longer an advantage.

Looking at tomorrow, a purchase of the JF-17 today is an unacceptable waste of money. In fact i think we might be wishing and waiting for a JF-17 that will not come.

As at this time, we know that the Nigerian Air Force has budgeted for 3 units of JF-17 for the last 3 years. Yet no jet. We did not budget for the Tucano but we've paid in full. The Super Mushak that was budgeted at the same time as the JF-17 have all been delivered.

We should be looking at the JF-17 Block III, J-10B and C, MIG-29M/MIG-35 or the SU-30SM.

The NAF won't like to look foolish. JF17 is new and only Pakistani Air force use them for now without a 2 seat variant. No one will just take the words of manufacturers as fact without hearing other users experience or flying in them. The three(3) requested for by the NAF might just be to see how effective they are and what gap can they fill. After all that, you can decide their worth, the quantity required and what more will you require to close gaps they couldn't fill.

Sensitive information. While their is some general info out there the NAF ain't gonna give u cheese on what makes it's systems behave and work intelligently the way they do in combat.

Except you want to act smart behind your computer like many wannabees do on here, sry ain't got nothing for you.

The specifications of the Mi-35M are well documented.

As are the specifications of the Mi-28NE.

The mi-28 has an HMD identification and indication system slaved to the weapons systems
The Mi-35 does not

The mi-28 has the KRET package that allows the filming and transmission of footage via datalink
The mi-35 does not

The mi-28 has KRET’s airborne radar system
The mi-35 does not have any radar at all

I feel sorry for you, not only do you pretend to be in active duty service (stolen valour) but you need to pretend equipment is better than it is.
Augustine, you need to be better.

In your dreams that is. Not unusual as your country is known for punching above it's weight even when everyone tells you in black and white that's not the reality.

Not bad to dream so keeping dreaming though hopeless with that tin pod of a helicopter. You might want to look at some affordable upgrades for it. Nations have moved on.

Btw we are more hopeful with your new president who appears to know better and apparently is looking to cut his coat according to his size.

You want to get banned again for off-topic posting?

That's an error, the Tucano can do 600km/h. Not slow, that's a sub-sonic speed.

Any purchase of a JF-17 Block II at this time will be redundant. We are better off waiting for the Block 3.

Instead of waiting for block 3 we better go for MIG-35 like Egypt did. If we go by what is on paper, JF17 block 2 would be wonderful for the price. we can then compliment it with MIG-35 that uses same engine and carry similar weapons.

MIG-35 is still far better than block 3 and block 4 that is to come. We can always use MIG-35 to fill gaps the JF17 can't fill. Just that JF17 need to prove their worth first.

See your shallow thinking -- expensive to you mean more modern and sophisticated, sry for u, that thinking (which actually is the problem across the board in ur country) is why ur airforce is stuck with expensive hardware it struggles to maintain and therefore inefficient.

Pricing is a matter of lobbying by the various entities involved in the production of the different types Mil-35M, Mi-28NE & Ka-52 which is offered for dedicated specific roles.

But to burst your bubble the Mi-35M is still considered the sturdier of all three and remains presently the work horse of Russia's Aerospace forces and other elements of it's armed forces.

Nigeria's military planners don't buy for the gallery but what works, easy to maintain and cost effective. That way you don't only exist on paper. Copy that..!
God forbid that you actually believe the sh1t you type!

Although a nice idea but knowing NAF brass hats forget it,we'd wait at least 2years to see tyres
NAF should get the damn JF17b first and we can shore up from there

This guy.

When Russia adapts a standard Mi-35M for export they change the designation.

Mi-35M2 ----> adapted for Venezuela
Mi-35M4 ----> adpated for Brazil
Mi-35O ----> adapted for Mexico

If yours is designated Mi-35M it means it is a standard Mi-35M.

Go back to pretending you were a soldier. At least that is entertaining.
