We keep wanting players who can deliver now, forgetting there was a time now was the future. We need to do more for our youngsters so that we would have players who can deliver when the future is now.

Finito.

What do we have age grade competitions for?

I will pick Iheanacho over Simon as a WF. Iheanacho can be unplayable if he plays from the Right wing.

However, V. Moses and Iwobi as the first choice wingers if Mikel plays the AM role.

I must give a shout out to Iwobi today but this also goes to his performance in the last league game. I think with the departure of Arsene Wenger coming close, Iwobi grew mentally. He got injured in the previous game but kept running and fighting for his team. He took his time to control the midfield by making careful and tidy passes. Something he followed up with today's performance. He also did not gas out for ninety minutes in both games, covering laps towards the dying minutes of both games.

I hope Iwobi continues on this path and reach the heights he can achieve.
Bravo young man.

Sir...the Algeria match ought to have made you know that nancho can't play as a winger....
he does not have the pace and trickery to play that role....
replace nancho with...iwobi, Moses Simon, musa....
Spot on. I was just about posting this.

It could be our own Busquets-Iniesta-Xavi or Casemiro-Kroos-Modric combos.... this is no hype. The possibility is right there in front of us. Ndidi-Mikel-Iwobi could be a masterclass against opposing sides.

And with that kind of midfield, I will go with an attack of Iheanacho (WF), Victor Moses (WF) and Ighalo (CF).

I tell you, this could be our killer card right here... but.... *shrugs*

tbaba1234:

Iwobi and Mikel would be lovely in the middle with Ndidi playing in front of the defence. We will be able to create more chances.

As a WF (Wing forward), Nacho will also thrive. And In a Elder Sir Kog45's 4-3-3, Nacho will play WF and not winger.

Of course I am not surprised it is coming from you. cheesy You showed me before that you don't know about some formation terminologies .... so this is no surprise at all.

A wing forward and a Winger are not one and the same. Go do the research. I won't waste my breath or energy tonight aiit. wink

The word winger is used for wide midfielders. e.g 4-4-2

But in my thinking, ideally, a winger should be able to operate as a WF and vice versa, although the roles are not exactly the same, but the terms are interchangeable when we dont mean to be exact.

Which of the trio give away balls easily?
Ndidi, the master tackler
Mikel the master holder and sprayer of long passes.
Iwobi the master distributor of short passes

The solution of the equation tells me the contrary

MetalJigsaw:
Then we'll struggle to hold possession in midfield.

Chelsea 1 Liverpool 0: Nigeria's Best Moses Outshines African Player Of The Year Salah

Chelsea moved within two points of fourth-placed Tottenham after grinding out a hard-fought 1-0 win over Liverpool in their Premier League clash on Sunday.

Super Eagles Victor Moses made his 24th Premier League start for Chelsea in the encounter while Nigerian Football Federation target Dominic Solanke started on the bench for Liverpool.
Liverpool duo Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane were the other Africans on parade at Stamford Bridge.

The Nigerian looked electric for much the opening exchanges, racing to the byline after 14 minutes to pull back a low cross which Tiemoue Bakayoko and Olivier Giroud failed to make the most of.

But the Super Eagle would then create space for himself on the right yet again, turning away from Andy Robertson to find Giroud with an inch-perfect cross which the Frenchman glanced home with 32 minutes on the clock.
Dominic Solanke who came on for the last 16 minutes nearly grabbed a dying minute equalizer for the Reds, getting onto the end of a Sadio Mane cross but agonizingly sent it wide off target.

Moses who picked up a booking in the 81st minute was replaced by Davide Zappacosta in the 89th minute.
