There were bids of 13.7% on 365 days the last time so there's no harm in trying cool

Not true.

Not true.

I didn't say the bids were successful, there were bids above 13% last time. Except you mean he can't choose his rate with 1m and has to go with the bank.

You should have told him the correct rates in the last bid. He is a new investor. We all know that anything above the last CBN rates may not be successful in the next bid.

first bank

first bank

That's good.

Just approach customer service when you get to the branch and tell them you want to register for Tbills. A form will be given to you to fill.

I don't think FBN will allow you choose your rate so you'll have to go with theirs.

Also, I'm assuming you've made up your mind so don't listen to any lecture on fixed deposits. Good luck and happy investing.

You can't know the exact rate for now, no one can. I'm expecting it to hover around 11% or less.

Please this reduced rates of TB, is there any hope of it coming back to normal soon?
This is the real normal. 18% was windfall.

Very bad o considering where we were coming from.

Besides, you could have gotten the same rate on FD depending on the amount you're investing.

4% discount is part of where where coming from. This time 2016, rates were lower.
FD rates should have been reviewed downwards. They don't make such delays.

this is not really a liquid instrument. Itis best for someone who wants to put their cash away for a while , rates for the last savings bond was in the environment of 10-11% coupon as well
It's actually trades on the exchange daily, so if there'll be buyers, liquidating'll be easy.

Be very very careful about investing your funds in Micro Finance Banks.

It's actually true that you can get 20% for N5m or over BUT you MAY not get your money back at the expiration.

Usually, they come begging you to role over at expiration and if you insist that you must have your money back, then they start telling you stories and give you promises. If at all you will get something back from them, you will be lucky to get only a fraction of your investment and you will be asked to convert whatever you're owed to own share in the company or their board as non sitting director.

This is what a stubborn friend of mine is going through for over 3yrs now and they are owing him over N50m.

So shine your eyes before you leap o and avoid unnecessary suicide because of greed expecially if the money is not yours.

The good thing I know is that you won't come back to tell us here if and when you get your fingers burnt.

Usually, some of them would pay you once or twice to lure you and later come out in their true colours.

Story of Fortis Micro finance bank, those guys are too unregulated for anyone to invest more than 500k with them, anyone can call it demarketing but majority of Nigerian destinies have been demarketed by those losers.

Yields are recovering. The stop rates may not fall much in the next PMA.

U wish ba, I wish too but if wishes were horses beggars...............

Seeing 10% and below on the secondary market is an indication that rates are tanking....

Good morning all. I'm thinking of investing in treasury bills and I have so many questions. First, what is the minimum amount I can start with? Secondly, does the interest rate depend on how much I put in? I use first bank. In fact, can someone please break down the whole thing for me? Thanks cry
