Obviously he isn’t literally a baby, baby... It is quite puzzling and creepy how you’re so pressed about what I called mines.

Funny how trifling creatures be quick to tag someone they know not “minor”....

Further from the truth and interpretation of my response you are........
What we call ours on this thread is spouse/husband/wife........
When issues are raised on this thread, it's best to probe deeper, to avoid confliction in interpretation.....
Literal interpretation in the past, has caused the wrong type of advice/suggestion offered.......

If your baby is 11, then I would politely suggest you apply in about 7 years from now ......

Good morning,

I came across this thread whilst seeking information on this process as I am about to go through it in less than 3 months.

Now that you cleared that up, My SPOUSE is coming into Nigeria to marry me.
I really need to know if the legal union must be done in Abuja or Lagos?

Secondly, would it be advisable to apply via premium service in the UK(on a visit visa) or apply from Nigeria?

You can use any registry of your choice in Nigeria. Ensure they issue you a local government marriage certificate and take pictures backing the registry insignia....

You cannot apply for a spousal in the UK, while on a visiting visa. You would not be granted a marriage licence. Marriage would have to be conducted in your home country.....

Best to apply via priority application, if the extra funds is not too much financial stress and also depends how quickly you want to be in baby's arms.......

Aunty! It was a joke! Learn to pick humour, it will help you to become less rigid!

You can’t come to a public forum and call your husband “baby” and expect us not to ask for clarity- that pet name is for you and your bedroom! What lexus said to you is exactly what I said in my mind amidst laughter.. however, we obviously knew you were referring to your hubby!

Is your girlfriend in the uk already? Is she studying working or a citizen? If she is in Nigeria and both of you want to move to the uk to work and then get married, I don’t think this is the right thread for you. If she is studying, you might be able to apply (if it’s a PhD only), if she is working, you might be able to apply but you won’t be able to work for 6 months. If she is a citizen, you will be able to apply but won’t work for 6 months. The visa application you will be applying for is the fiancé visa to allow you get married to her within the 6 months you will be granted entry in the uk. However the chances of a successful fiancé visa is low. I’ll advise you to marry her then apply.

I disagree with some of the points mentioned above. A first degree student is also allowed to bring his/her dependents to the UK if there is proof that their welfare will be taken care of. For instance, a student sponsored by their employer whilst still paying their salaries.

A Fiance visa is pretty much same as the spouse visa. The only difference is that the fiance visa expires after 6 months and then FLR follows. The chances of getting this visa is NOT and has NEVER been low. The odds are the same as spouse visa. Please get your facts right to avoid misleading others.

Hello my people, just curious if anyone has had to replace a lost or stolen BRP card? Any idea on the time frame for postal application? Thanks.
Re: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by deebaby05(f): 6:18pm On May 11, 2018
It took about 4 weeks before I got a replacement. After I reported it lost online and posted the replacement form, I got a letter telling me to go for biometrics on the 3rd February. did biometrics on the 6th February and got my brp on the 7th of March 2018

Hi everyone,

I've finally made an account after being a silent follower for the past few years; it's only the right thing to do as you all have been my virtual family throughout my 5 year long distance journey.

If it wasn't for this forum, I wouldn't now be able to finally deserve some peace after all I've been through. Being in a long distance is one thing but being young (we in our mid 20's) and being from two different cultures (Hubby: Nigerian and me: Caribbean) added more to rollercoaster.

Nevertheless, my husband was finally granted his visa today. There's no words that can describe how I'm feeling right now.

Here's our timeline (standard):

Online Submission: 9th February
Biometrics: 13th February
Documents sent: 19th February
Decision made: 11th May
Passport ready for collection: 11th May
Passport collected with visa: 11th May
Total: 61 working days

God bless everyone who contributes and good luck to everyone who is waiting for a response.

I am about to apply for my second settlement visa. My first one was refused last year when I was pregnant after 6 months due to English requirement. P.s I have a masters degree from a university in the Uk. I wanted to ask that can I apply using priority this time around? Is it adviseable?
Thank you

When you had you initial rejection, had you bagged the Msc from a UK university?
We have known people apply using priority at the second bite of the cherry, and had spousal visa granted.....

You can take the gamble and update the forum........

That is 4 weeks excluding the time to receive the biometric enrolment letter. How long after posting the replacement form did you get the biometrics enrolment letter? Thanks.

I didn't submit my original certificate cos I was to do my graduation in July but I applied in may. However I submitted a letter from school like an academic reference which has my full name, degree awarded, my transcript and that my certificate will be dispatched in 6 weeks but it wasn't acknowledged

Hello all...

It's me again smiley

Laat week, my work place agreed to extend my contract (as I was on a fixed term contract that was due to finish in July 2018). I got a letter as confirmation.

Should I send this letter to Sheffield? Or is it too late or is it not advisable?

I did include a letter in my supporting documents explaining that if the school did not extend, that I would be looking to secure another job that continues to meet the financial needs.

Many thanks!

Good morning everyone, I have also been a silent follower for some time. I'm hoping to get some further insights please.
I'm soon to complete my online application and go for biometrics but I wanted to be sure of some things. Is it true I only need to take application form and passport to the appointment? What of previous passports I have? Do I submit them with the supporting docs to be sent to Sheffield?

Another question please. My UK husband says he wants to use Royal Mail to send all our docs to Sheffield. I will first send to him via DHL but he wants to use RM after that. Is this allowed? What experience do members have of this?

Thank you all so much for your assistance!

Hello house. Good morning.

Please, is inclusion of tenancy agreement a must to meet the accommodation requirement?

Hubby lives in a rented apartment and we presented landlord's letter, property inspection report and utility/council tax bills.

I've been really bothered since I noticed we omitted the tenancy agreement... Do people get refused on this basis
