Whatever your point is, take it elsewhere. I'm clearly not interested in spoon-feeding anyone anymore by explaining simple things over and over. smiley
I've just spent my entire morning reading from the beginning and to be honest, that part is still confusing but I'll pass on it.

About Immigrating
No doubt Nigeria hasn't lived up to its potentials as a country. And deciding to leave Nigeria for greener pastures isn't a bad thing.
But it's only fair for people with professional jobs in Nigeria to know that immigrating means doing very difficult menial jobs that can break ones back for a living, and moving over to a life of uncertainty as an immigrant.
In many countries, not getting a job after studying means you have to return to your country. That's when the "criminality" in average Nigerians unveils itself and we begin to do anything illegal to remain there by force.

About Our Bad Treatment Outside
Is Nigeria the only backward country on earth experiencing bad governance?
Why are people from Benin, Togo, Kenya, Ghana, Uganda, etc. not ill treated at airports, or for travel visas, or abroad generally, as badly as Nigerians are treated?
Because Nigerians are the ones always are the forefront of doing criminal and illegal things outside Nigeria.
Because majority of Nigerians don't hesitate to do wrong just to get their way through situations, thereby spoiling the reputation of the good ones and the country at large.
We think we are sharp people with what I call Negative Smartness, so we must find another way out to circumvent any system.

About Nigeria
So Nigerian people is what is wrong with Nigeria.
Nigerians find it extremely convenient to blame the government, forgetting that Nigerian citizens in all spheres make life difficult for each other. For most people, the government is the President alone. All they see wrong about Nigeria is Buhari. Not the corrupt civil servants manning various positions, the legislators, the council chairmen, the judges, traders, etc.
The annoying thing about Nigerians is that, those who find it very convenient to do wrong and criminal things criticise the government the most. I have lots of "friends" as examples both here and in Nigeria.

About Our Politics
For the bitter 2015 election losers, their best phrase has become "Nigeria is a zoo". All they do is curse Nigeria since after 2015. I've seen a lot of it on this thread.
But it wasn't a zoo when Jonathan, OBJ and his party goons were looting the treasury with reckless abandon and not giving us a future to fall back on. Nigerians are largely ignorant honestly. They don't even know anything about their economic revenue sources, so they can't adequately hold the leaders accountable. The currency here also depreciated due to slump in oil prices and no one strangled the government.
The only thing I care about is for our infrastructure to be largely built and I'll probably return home. That's what I desire from any government in power for now, as Nigerians won't stop doing wrong and making the country more reasonable for the good ones to survive.

This was my post when I went to Nigeria during this past Christmas holiday...

The festive period is over, fuel queues automatically disappear. A few greedy filling station operators were able to make their Christmas money to the detriment of the remaining 180 million people.
Till December 2018 again for the next scarcity. Filling stations will as usual sell products at midnight at higher prices only to black market people, who adulterate the product with unknown liquid and resell at higher prices to fellow countrymen and also knock down their engines just to make quick money.
Govt receives the bashing while a few selfish people achieved their aim - A wonderful Christmas!
Everywhere you turn to you see people trying to make money by making others suffer; airport staff, passport office, electricity distribution companies, policemen at extortion points, traders selling fake items to unsuspecting customers, one car blocking the road and hindering hundreds from moving forward, road contractors, etc.
Each person only cares about himself and his pocket. The rest can suffer!
Go to other countries and see how people behave, then you know why such countries are functional.
Elections will come and people will start talking about parties and candidates, forgetting that even the best candidates have to deal with over 100 million selfish people who will do anything to keep their pockets increasing irrespective of how many other fellow citizens suffer from their actions.
What a wonderful people!

If you are 100% sure you are totally a different Nigerian who doesn't fit in to the wrong way of getting things done, please feel free to leave for your own sanity. You can return when majority of Nigerians are ready to do the right always.

We Paid NASS 17B Naira To Have 2015 Budget Passed.- Okonjo Iweala

When you see stories like this, how can anyone possibly wonder why people are leaving Nigeria in droves? The very people that make laws for Nigeria are stealing the country blind and we are talking about sacrifice??
How the heck can Nigeria EVER develop when all 3 arms of government are made up of criminals?? They rape and pillage the country and they do not even leave crumbs for the masses.

The saddest part of the story is that instead of stoning these vagrants that call themselves senators and government officials, we applaud them. For goodness sake someone in this thread was justifying the sad state of the power sector!

I do not curse my country but Nigeria will NEVER develop as LONG as these criminals remain in power.
If you have the opportunity to leave Nigeria LEGALLY, PLEASE LEAVE!!!
....And they will blame whites for their self inflicted woes.

Personally it all depends on your background and your assets back home. If you emigrate to another country and prefer to be part of the rat race in a world where your skin is always seen as the worst class of the human race; then i guess you are satisfied with being another man's bitch.

Generally and unarguably, Nigerians in Europe are the most successful Nigerians in diaspora mainly because 70% know what they came out for and know that it can be taken away from you at any minute. So in btw less than a year to 5 yrs, a newcomer who's focused acquires a few assets back home eg. property, businesses, shares etc and they've got money working for them while they work. Plus they get money by all means necessary.

America is a "wash" world. They sell you a fake dream, keep you in slavery digitally and labour-wise and all your dreams are under the fingers of the caucasians. Don't believe me, check every damn company you work for, how many black people are the presidents, vice or even third place? None

Black people are pimped for over 30 yrs only to retire tp some lousy pension and continuous payments.

I emigrated to Europe 18 yrs ago as teenager and I've got two to three more years to complete my conquest. In the meantime, i love my king life back home and i detest the system i once saw as normal.

In Naij, I am free to do whatever the hell i want without being audited or ripped off or the govt pinching into my hardwork and selling me debt. Besides the healthcare, organization and civilization, at this stage of my life, i prefer a place where my colour isn't a reflection of my personality, where my money works for me and not me working for my money. Most of all, a place where the boss life never ends if you use your street smarts and your foreign packaging to sell your ideas and sell your products.

Nigeria is a shithole but a goldmine for a hustler. As much as i hate my passport and keep myself enclosed from my people emotionally due to their atrocities, I love Nigeria. We are the toughest hustlers in Africa and we can sell you anything including the American dream. No other African nation is that sharp.

Simple Question:
Did you migrate legally?

Why is your case different from those that moved there and are comfortable?

Are you enjoying basic amenities in Nigeria?

As a citizen in a sane country, are you supposed to be generating electricity for your home individually? Isn't that what NEPA (PHCN) is for?

Money isn't success, unless Nigerians edit this mindset there would still be massive corruption, scams and rituals in Nigeria.

A country that worships rich criminals and lynch hungry thieves.

A country where having a car is an achievement.

A country where you have to bribe your way through everything just because it's the "normal way".

I would rather leave this country to retain my sanity.

Your brain is either dead or non-existent.

Theamerican, please continue the gospel. Hopefully these backward facing minds in Nigeria might have a change of heart and actually want progress.

When they can't reply with facts they jump to personal questions. I read the other guy's post asking why you weren't at work if you're actually employed. I can't help but laugh at the ignorance oozing from the supposedly "Saviours of Nigeria".

If Nigeria is left for them to fix, I definitely don't want to imagine the outcome.

You are smart so I hope to see you on Quora. Half the slime balls on here ain't worth the time.

Out of curiosity, lets dive deeper. We are learning here so don't take nothing to heart

1)How many yrs have you worked and how many yrs left until you retire?
2)How many figures are you set to make when you retire and I mean tax-free?
3) How much can you say you could save up in 10yrs and be debt-free?
4) How much do you have left on your student loan?
5) How many years would it take finish the mortgage?
6) How easy would it be for you to set up a business and how much would it cost you? I'm talking architectural layout, registration, taxes etc. The whole lot
7) How much would be your tax return as an Entrepreneur, annually?
cool How much do you think Nigerians contribute to the US i.e. education-wise annually and how much do they get in return
9) would you raise kids in a school were they are taught that kissing another man is normal or that gay people are just naturally born dat way; or would you prefer to have options where you can decide where they study and how they study in any place of the world?
10) Lastly, how often can you take trips in a year. And what limits you from doing so at times?

Lets start with these 10

Love how you spoke your mind. Yes i did migrate legally and invested in the country too. Twice.

Mine is different because I see the west differently. Its full of opportunities but I can't get caught up forgetting my purpose in life for the sake of comfort, better healthcare and security. Truth is all those can be bought anywhere u are in the world. Hate me for saying that but i stand on it.

America itself is the most corrupt nation in the world yet people do make it in there and I don't say this from personal hate. Since the history of America, its always had corruption back to back, yet the hardworking people managed to protude from it and emerged victorious.

India is populated and worse off in crime yet they are the top spot for tech companies and credit card companies to source cheap labour and the best hands in I.T.

Nigerian leaders fail the country yr after yr but if one could sit and think about it, nigeria never did shit for you since birth, so why sit down and focus on things you already knew a long time ago.

I find success in opportunity. Nigeria has shitloads of it especially if people in the west could make use of the opportunities they have.

Microfinance emerged from a slum far far far away and Mohammed Yunus still isn't celebrated for his humanitarian efforts or his contribution to society. But that does not stop him from utilising the opportunities he has left in his "dumpster" country as some may put it.

Don't get stuck in the "Bleep nigeria" syndrome if not a lotta y'all will be lost.

The anger and frustration oozing from your comment goes a long way to show how frustrating your life is in nigeria. Mind your biz, keep your dirty busy body in your bedroom. Mind your biz

Again, your best defence is insults. angry angry

In other countries I hear about the 1% ruining it. In Nigeria 96% are ruining it. Only 4% are sane and the number is reducing daily.

Nigeria is an IQ Reduction Center.

The more you stay in Nigeria the more your mental capacity reduces due to harsh conditions, but hey, some people here still love it so what's my business. cool grin

PS: Stay if you want to, stop spreading bitterness or lame attempts at sarcasm cause you're used to sufferness and have lost your sanity in the process. cheesy cheesy
