Cashew is the fastest growing agrocommodity in Nigeria but unfortunately this goldmine has not been maximized by Nigeria.

With the global demand exceeding 5 million tons valued at about 6 billion dollars.
Sustainable wealth can built with investing in this low risk and money spinning crop.

1. Over the years, the demand has always exceed the supply with the local price rising steadily from N110,000 per tonne in 2011 to N650,000 per tonne in 2017.

Only 25,000 tons out of about 200,000 tons local supply requirement was accounted for in ogbomoso, oyo state in 2016 which happens to be the best quality nut in Nigeria.

2. It is however mind boggling to note that this market is built on mostly unplanned and inherited farms.

Lower nut count per kilogram, high kernel output ratio(KOR) and better taste are the major reason why exporter prefer ogbomoso cashew. This is primarily due to climate, and the local seed quality.

Individuals that produces Cashew nut from other regions like kogi (the largest producer of cashew nut in Nigeria) prefer to bring theirs to ogbomoso to be diluted with cashew nuts grown in ogbomoso to improve the quality of their products
This is the level to which the ratings in terms of quality of ogbomoso cashew nut is.

There is fertile, arable land in ogbomoso for the cultivation of cashew. cashew cultivation is guaranteed to yield huge profit for bold and savvy investors.

The increasing high global demand for cashew from ogbomoso giving its undeniable superior quality such as lower nut per kilogram, high kernel output ratio and better taste are the reasons why cashew merchants and exporters are arriving in their droves to do business in the small town in southwest Nigeria.

It is clear to see that the ogbomoso cashew stands out with its quality and the industry stakeholders testify to its value in the international market.

It is key to note that at this point that the cashew industry in ogbomoso is still at its infancy spanning less than 10 years and have seen significant growth in the past 5 years with more international buyers trooping in driving the demand and cost of the commodity.

3. The current demand for cashew comes mainly from Asia, but the possibility for growth are boundless with technological advancement finding more use for the nut and more people turning to healthier nut consumption will see an increase in the international demand and export potential for ogbomoso cashew.

Cashew can produce its first fruit in 30 months and will continue fruiting for at least another 50 years.

We are focused in assisting investors maximize the advantage the ogbomoso terrain offers in the cashew trade globally by providing investment option especially the ones that will reduce risks and put the investors at an advantage.

There are 2 ways to get into cashew business
1.either through farming/producing cashew nuts or through
2.Trading of cashew nut which covers local trading and international trading (export)

I love farming and personally I don't like getting involved in other area of the cashew business.

There are lot of advantages you can derive from being a cashew farmer; you can determine the price as related to other crops where the price is determined by the buyer because of other crop"s perishable nature

To get started, the first thing to do is to acquire your farmland.
There are cheap farmlands you can acquire starting from N150k per acre in ogbomoso and from N250k per acre in ogun state.

You can contact me for that if you need one.

The second step is getting a good hybrid seedlings
you can watch my YouTube video to see how you can grow your own grafted seedlings.

My Experience on cashew
It is better to have a cashew farm where you can source your cashew from than just buying from random sellers expecting to resell to other large exporter.
I had some pretty bad experience recently buying some cashew nut from the farmers. After purchase, drying, we weigh, bagging and storing.
Days after storing, I discovered that the weight keep reducing.
a 80kg cashew might have lost up to 70kg within days.
so I called everybody and told them we need to find what is really happening.
We later discover that most of these farmers plucked the cashew nut before its ripened, so the more they are dried, the more they loose weight.

if you are a farmer, you will be able to track your the source and determine the quality compare to buying them from source you don't know

Although ogbomoso produce the best cashew nut in the world,and command a premium price in the cashewnut market;
Nevertheless, ogbomoso is not the only place where cashew is being produce in Nigeria and I am not saying you should buy or farm cashew only in ogbomoso.

Cashew are being produce in ogun, nassarawa, abuja, kogi etc but the purpose of this thread is to provide real time information on where you can get the best, or farm the best nuts.

The general condition in ogbomoso is still favorable to cashew nut than any other place; from the cheaper farmland, to the weather condition to the good quality local seeds etc.

I hope you get my drift.

No doubt about it, cashew business remains the fastest agrocommodity business in nigeria.
With local price on the increase from N110,000 per ton in 2011 and reached N650,000 per ton this year.

It also provide major foreign exchange for the country last year and expected to generate $880 million for cashew farmers in Nigeria this year alone.

Unfortunately, the massive opportunities in the cashew industry is yet to be maximised.

The video below on my YouTube page will shed more insights into how you can maximise the opportunities in cashew farming business.

A honest observation here, bro.

Despite the claims that the demand for cashew nut is high, why is it that many folks keep advertising cashew nuts for sale on almost every cashew thread?
Take for instance, the person you quoted above, who is looking for buyer for 500 tons!

I'm seeking your honest opinion. Not being cynical.
