FFK Questions Why Naira And Army Coat Of Arms Have Arabic Inscriptions On Them by WotzupNG: 2:46pm On May 30, 2018 |
Former minister of aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode (FFK) has questioned why Nigeria has Arabic inscriptions on it’s bank notes, on the Army’s coat of arms and also why the Nigeria Police had to make Arabic language part of a CBT examination. In a new tweet, FFK wrote: ”Arabic words on our bank notes.Arabic inscriptions on our Army’s coat of arms. Arabic language part of the Police CBT examination. What is going on? Is Nigeria an Arab colony or Saudi Arabia? Are all Nigerians Muslims? Must we bow to the Arabs too? This madness must stop!” However, a follower of the former minister questioned to know why he never did anything to change the observation when he was in government. @Kingjoelagho wrote: ''True sir. But here is my grouse with this your lamentation; Most of the areas you highlighted now seems to have existed long before now and you were also a key influence in previous govts. why didn't you note this and change them when you had the time and powers to?#JustThinking.'' Replying the follower, Femi Fani-Kayode pointed out that he wasn't a president but a minister and that he was among those who urged former president Goodluck Jonathan to remove the Arabic inscription from the Naira notes. He wrote: ''I was not President. Just a Minister. And I left office 11 years ago. However @GEJonathan,who I supported in 2015, removed Arab inscriptions from our money after we urged him to do so and we created awareness. Ur assertion that I did nothing is therefore false. What have u done?'' https://www.wotzup.ng/ffk-arabic-naira-army-coat-arms/ 19 Likes 4 Shares

Nice one FFK. I hereby dub you a Crusader. The Arabic inscription on the Nigeria Army coat of arms is Nasrunminallah. It means ''Victory Comes From God Alone''. Checking closely, you will notice that the word we get as the English word for God in the translation is Allah. Lying Muslims will also tell you that Allah means God or is the Arabic equivalent of the English word God. This is a big lie which I will prove below. In the Islamic Shahada, which is the words you swear when you want to become a Muslim, which most of you are aware of cos that's what this forum makes you swear before you comment on an Islamic thread, we find the word for God which clearly isn't Allah. Look Below. The Shahada: There is no god but Allah In Arabic: La ilaha illallah The word for god is ilaha. If Muslims lie by saying that allah means god, then the appropriate translation will be 'There is no god but god''. This doesn't make any sense. Hence, the reason why they put the name of their god Allah there. Can you all now see that Allah is not the word for God but the name of a god, the Muslim god? Why do we have the name of the Muslim god on the chest of our soldiers many of whom are adherents of other faiths? Is Nigeria an Islamic nation? Are the Christians, Atheists, traditionalists who are soldiers in the army now to be called soldiers of Allah? This must be changed. As a Muslim, before you go on the defensive, ask yourself if it is fair to other faith. 383 Likes 53 Shares |

Femi Fani Kayode, your hands are full, you have four strong boys to cater to. How you find time to type and raise dust is something I can't decipher! Between you and Reno Omokri, I don't know who should be given treatment for mouth diarrhea. The Youth will fight non-stop because of these politicians while they go behind close doors and hug themselves. Their kids marry themselves. I stopped putting myself between any political fracas after they gave me 2 hot slaps during 2015 election. 65 Likes 10 Shares |

The only reason an Arabic inscription is, in combination with English, on Nigeria's currency today is the influence ofhistory. It has been so from the very first time paper currency was printed for Nigerian use (either for British or indigenous Traders). Before the Nigerian pound (replaced in 1973 by Naira and Kobo), the old West African Currency Board (WACB) pound (also known as West African Pound (WAP)) wasin use, first from 1913 in restricted distribution, and then more generally from 1946 until 1959 in Nigeria, 1957 in Ghana, 1965 in Gambia and 1964 in Sierra Leone. Liberia also used the currency until 1943 when it changed to the U.S. dollar. British Southern Cameroon used it too, until the plebiscite of 1961. The WAP - from which the post- independence currencies of Nigeria, Ghana, Sierra Leone and Gambia were derived - also had Arabic inscriptions onit. The original reason for Arabic was that Frederick Lugard (who was the first Commander of the West African Frontier Force (1897 - 99) and later the first High Commissioner of Northern Nigeria (1899 - 1906); and later the Governor of the protectorates of Northern and Southern Nigeria (1912 - 1914); and finally the first Governor General of post-amalgamation Nigeria (1914 - 1919 ); identified Arabic the only written "indigenous" language anywhere in Nigeria/West Africa, particularly among the widely spread Hausatrader classacross the region. (See Lugardreportto Parliament, 1919) Arabic inscriptions were, therefore, used as symbols, not only for currency but even on official West African Frontier Force badges etc... which persist until today in Nigerian Army badges etc... In themind oftheBritish colonial administrators in Nigeria - whoseadministrative experience was heavily influenced by their military service in Northern Nigeria and other parts of the sahel belt of West Africa - rightlyor wrongly, Arabic writing was to West Africa as Latin was to Europe. In addition to English, therefore, they used Arabic to domesticate British instruments meant for local use. The fact that such symbols still exist is one of many scars of the era of colonial rule. However, not all former British West African colonies still use Arabic translations on their currencies as a footnote to history. Nigeria and Gambia do. Ghana and Sierra Leone do not: Victory is from Allah alone. 54 Likes 8 Shares

FriendNG:By beheading and forcefully Islamizing innocent people abi? Is it fair to have allah written on the coat of arms of a secular nation? You won't have an answer to that cos all you Muslims want is to conquer the world for Allah. This itself has made you all lose your soul and conscience to the point that other people's rights do not matter to you. Mathew 16:26 For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul? 180 Likes 5 Shares |

Sorry, mr. FFK, Please is that Nigeria's problem? Why cant we address issues that deal with the development of Nigerians individually and collectively. FFk was an irrelevance even during his own dead service to Nigeria, now he comes to the internet to make himself relevant. mtchewww 10 Likes 2 Shares

A young man sitting in a taxi received a text from his gf asking "SEX 2nite??" He quickly types YES! Just then, a thief snatched his phone from him through the window, he quickly jumped out of the car and ran after the thief not asking for his phone back but rather shouting "press send, press send" 11 Likes 1 Share |

The day Southern Nigeria grows the balls to stop indulging the north, from that day Nigeria will really become a prosperous nation. Since the South has the likes of Tinubu, they will continue playing second fiddle and pander to the whims and caprices of the parasitic north... 37 Likes 1 Share |
