JOHESU EARNS MY RESPECT

The National leadership of Johesu and the grassroot members of johesu have earned my respect.

Nigeria is a beautiful POLITICAL country, where ONLY "breathing efforts" flourish amidst political heats.

Nothing moves without political stimulation, but the unfortunate receives political frustration and retard. Ask a market woman, every sector receives this political influence - towards good or to the otherwise.

The Johesu strike was necessitated by reasons I may not be fit to justify since I'm a Pharmacist, (to avert bias) of course its a Nigerian uniqueness that Labour unions embark on strikes as their only means of reaching our "supposed-reachable" government!

One of the days I cried as a youth, was caused by a strike that kept me at home in 2001 for one-year, yet Nigerians still cry and suffer the effects of strikes.
When NASU or ASUU goes on strike, the younger Nigerians stay at home, loose focus and yield to some of the "available" practices (drug use, armed robbery). NMA or JOHESU goes on strike, poor masses especially the elderly ones die due to the poor or no management of their chronic diseases. WHEN WILL OUR SAVIOR COME?

Our "supposed" leaders after two years in office no longer listen to any topics not related to NEXT ELECTION (God why us!)

JOHESU has displayed exactly what Mr Goodluck Jonathan did in 2015 "for the sake of humanity", hence they deserve my ink.

Biologically, when two elephants are fighting, especially a type of fight that requires WIN or LOOSE, the adrenaline levels of each elephant hits-top to defeat the opponent, but it takes wisdom for one elephant to yield, and save life of one (since one must die for the other to win) Johesu was wise!

During this preventable strike, I lost an Aunty, who was so dear to me, "the only Aunty that calls me" Pharm Chuu", a friend lost younger brother, and the other person lost his dad., and we cried and they were gone! Of course those unknown to me suffered similar bereavement. (may their souls rest in Peace)

An average Nigerian would have chosen to remain in battle lest he be-called a coward, at least we all Praised Jonathan for bowing - Johesu was wise!
.
ASUU was not popular until it was known for severe strikes.

JOHESU similarly was seen as "not useful" in the health sector, until their strike proved to Nigerians that the demise of an aspect of health sector is capable of truncating efforts of other aspects... THIS IS A GREAT ACHIEVEMENT fellow JOHESU members.

Although the pattern of negligence our government played during this strike would register scorn in the minds of health workers against each other... But I want to still plead with johesu members to-be the reason peace existed in our health sector, (at least the Bible recognizes lovers of Peace) while calling on NMA to join "let us play team and help Nigerians".

I have been to the health sector, and can confirm that aside the inter-professional and government-stimulated rivalries, there exist intra-professional wars, all adding to the stress that weigh down the job SATISFACTION health workers in Nigeria achieve.
I want to specifically call on HEADS OF DEPARTMENTS, both in medicines, pharmacy, nursing, medical lab etc, to find ways to curb these intra-professional differences, ensure that the welfare of your team members is primary. When every sect is mildly satisfied, the extension will reach the whole hospital, and the Nigerian masses will enjoy to some extent,a hitch-free, glitch-free and scorn-free health care.

Long live Pharmacy My Pride!

Long live Johesu!

Long live Nigerian health sector!!

Long live Federal Republic of Nigeria!!!

Kia, I am in my 4th decade of life and I can say I've never seen a set as disgruntled as Johesu. Enjoy ur Doctor, but it will add no extra duty or responsibility on u in the hospital. It's should be clear by now that u earn the same with ur Bpharm colleagues, but spent 8months extra doing an inconclusive research. Johesu is a failed group and everything will be done to keep them out of circulation.

That the stupidity of these courses. The Civil service system is not sustainable. Soon like most other sectors health will be privitized and all redundant "Consultant Pharmacist" will be retrenched, and let's see where in the private sector Doctors and Labs are paid equally.

A consultant pharmacist in Nigeria is a liability. Outside the shores of this country he will be seen as a stupid person, allocating titles and portfolios that cannot compete on the global scale.

Be here and be speaking grammar treating malaria and typhoid while other professions are growing. In the US all Pharmacist are PharmD holders, and the government sponsors their residency training. Also in the US Physicians don't go on ward rounds without clinical Pharmacist

I do my research, but Johesu members are confused lots. What is the role of Consultant Pharmacist in Nigeria. The organogram for the chief consultant pharmacist says he is to dispense monoclonal antibodies. Which hospital has those in Nigeria and even if they do, ur role is to dispense and u are given consultant by Lagos state. Note that the Consultant is based on years of Service, meaning that no aptitude is involved. If u get to level 17 u automatically become a consultant. If it's so, I for don be deputy consultant long ago. Abroad residency is done in Pharmacy, just like Doctors u are not a staff but a trainee during this period. After this, u leave the hospital and search for a job as a Consultant where ur service is required. This is the real pathway, so whatever Pharmacy consultants we are having in Lagos state are at best mushroom consultants.

No 1 reason why I may doubt ur research is dt consultant pharmacist role is not to dispense monoclonal antibodies. Dispensing is not even in d picture. If u r sincere and u want to learn and not been biased, I can forward articles with valid references 2 ur mail
No 2. Nigeria has a structure for consultancy program and they also undergo rigorous residency training in selected accredited centers only that d 'ministry of doctors' fails in acknowledging their presence.
No 3. If u look at the circular released by Lagos state govt keenly, u will see that it was Consultant ii/assistant director i.e for those that have gone thru West African Postgraduate College of Pharmacist and residency will go thru Consultancy cadre while those that didn't go thru will assistant director, deputy director and director cadre. And besides Lagos state won't just approve such things without due consultations and deliberations. Niger state have such system in place long ago and assuming it is not working or fruitful, it will have been scrapped and discouraged. So pls Rx.......accept it in good fate.

How has Niger state health indices changed since it was adopted. Let stop deceiving ourselves. Wanting to be consultants here is for pecuniary reasons and it doesn't bring anything to the table. The only true Consultants in the hospital setting are Medics and they consult directly to patients need.

All weapons fashioned against our healthcare system and our physicians will fail.
JOHESUS is a crazy idea started by my classmates in med lab tech school, now galvanizing low esteem nurses, confused therapists, and semi-educated pharmacists with the sole purpose of agitating and getting the same salary as the physician. Not to do same work as the physician, but to get same pay. Evil and corrupt in every sense.

MrBigiman, I really do appreciate ur concerns about the health of Nigerian believing that it can't be trusted in d hands of JOHESU consultants but have u ever wondered why Nigeria is no where to be found in d world as regards to healthcare delivery in the hands of the 'Trusted Medical Consultant'. There is a Yahale Ahmed report, and Johesu are the only one kicking against its implementation. Sadly the same Johesu that is speaking about international best practice.

Truth be told, the health sector is Nigeria is not totally collapsed because of the Tenacity of the Doctor. If it was only Johesu, Nigeria would not have a health sector at all.

When the ignorant string words together you wonder if dey even know what dey talk about.

A consultant pharmacist and a consultant physician do not do the same work. Where one is busy offering advice as regards decision making in managing patients, the other does not see the four walls of a ward round neither does he review a patient with tenacity and temerity to profer care. You are confused with your job description.

I suppose you think a consultant economist can carry out orif or follow the atls protocol of resuscitation.

You have failed to realise that a physician was sworn into the only profession were you are given the option of inflicting harm.

Let me be the one to disillusion you from your fantasy that a medical scientist professor dares not handle patients so also a pharmacist is not licensed to manage cases.

Those dudes are only playing on the fact that Nigeria is still Civil Service based. When the hospital is privitized most Johesu member will be lobbying to protect their jobs rather than equating themselves with Physicians.

cheesy overlapping oversabi ppl. You pharmacist should learn to respect the relativity.

I don't believe this pharmacist on ward round story you are constructing cheesy it sounds ludicrous as it is stupendous.

Pray tell what contributions a pharmacist intern will contribute on ward rounds grin
