Throwback:Trash!! You are irredeemably du.mb indeed. What is the population of Benin republic, Togo, Ghana, Liberia etc on the ECOWAS you want to compare with Nigeria? Why would Lagos ports be too congested and the spill over going to Cotonou when a responsible government would have given incentive to importers for using other seaports in Nigeria other than Lagos? If having five international airports in Nigeria is too much for the country, then why not close Kano airport and let the Abuja airport serve the whole north since they don't even travel out except to go for hajj in Saudi Arabia? How is having a functional River port at Onitsha, one of West Africa's most commercially inclined cities a problem for you? Do you know that if each of the six regions should stand as individual countries that they would still be bigger than most of the countries in West Africa?? Would you be comfortable if the Lagos seaports and airport were to be closed for any reason and you hypocritical lots from that end are told to travel to Calabar before you could either travel out or import your goods when common sense will tell you that it's more convenient, less expensive, less risky, saves time etc for you to use the ones within your domain?? 12 Likes 1 Share |

BreakupNigeria: Your own problem is that you believe your village must have an international airport so you would not need to do any local travel. Same way state governments are all engaging in white elephant projects of building airports that are useless. Is there no international airport in Port Harcourt. If you hate Lagos so much, who has prevented you and the airlines from flying through Port-Harcourt? I already mentioned that there are 2 viable international airports in the North and 2 in the South. So why then are you suggesting that Kano be shut down so that you have only 1 in the North and 3 in the South? Why didn't you suggest that the one in PortHarcourt be closed down so another can be opened in your village? Even the most active airports are all in cosmopolitan cities and serve all Nigerians. The ones that already exist, has the federal government managed it well? Who ever said each region must have international airport? The ones available are already well spread. Now that you have an international airport in Enugu, why are you still lamenting? If it is not viable, whose fault is it? Finally, what stopped a Southerner Jonathan from attending to your grievances in a government that Igbos dominated? 8 Likes |

Ttipsy: I have told you what we have already and the land mass that people have to cover is OK for the number we have. 4 international airports are very suitable for our population. Is there only one seaport in Nigeria, or are you even blind to the topic of the thread? Must every coastal state have a seaport? Must every state have airport and seaport to develop? What kind of twisted reasoning is this belief that international airport would suddenly bring development. If there is no viability, the airport remains just a museum as many airports already are in Nigeria. People just have this foolish belief that their tribe too must have an international airport or seaport. Thankfully we have a SouthSouth man as minister of Transport overseeing both Airport and Seaport, if you cannot get any parochial compromises now, then it is better you perish your parochial thoughts forever. 7 Likes 2 Shares |

He is directly involved and by his assertions he is of the opinion that clearing used clothings in Onne is harder than Apapa port.. And please don't always believe whatever you read online. The calabar seaport from what the Port manager said is handling mainly Petroleum products and cement.. Untill we see cars and other goods being shipped through that Port, then we will believe its being well utilized as it should. Stop being an ass hole.. 8 Likes |

BreakupNigeria: And who has stopped you and the most traveled Africans from using Enugu Airport? Who has stopped your river ports? Those with sea port are still asking for improved depth, you are asking for river port that will fly over the shallow seaport? Thankgod Jonathan was president for 5 years without any Yoruba influence in his government. None of the WestAfrican nations has our population which explains why we have 4 or 5 viable international airports while they have only 1. Or don't you understand? Our airports do not suffer from excessive traffic and we don't even have an extensive landmass that might warrant littering the nation with international airports even if the traffic is low. 3 Likes |

Ttipsy: I am saying that even the 4 well known international airports in Nigeria are well distributed and not overpopulated. If we were an ethnically homogenous country, we won't be having most of these complaints. We just have this belief that our tribe has not been recognised as important yet that is why we did not have an international airport before or that is why the one we have is not viable. Parochialism is our problem. Anyone from Abia or Anambra or Enugu should be able to fly locally to Port Harcourt and fly internationally. Just as some will fly locally from Sokoto or Taraba to Abuja or Kano to fly internationally. Same way some will fly locally from Ekiti or Osun to Lagos to fly internationally. The viable international airports are already well placed to handle the traffic out of / into Nigeria. I repeat that our problem is tribal. As for seaports, the topographical challenges that some of the other coastal ports have are well know, thereby limiting what vessels might come in. That has not stopped them from being operational and being useful within their capacity. Yorubas did not limit their capacity or prevented anyone from shipping to wherever they like among the coastal ports. IGR from federal ports remain federal, and not benefitting the state in anyway, besides the strain it puts on the state roads who have to bear the traffic of trailers. Lastly, Igbos should stop blaming Yorubas for whatever shortcomings they feel they have in Nigeria. We are not responsible for your problem and do not need to hold any one down to progress. 15 Likes 3 Shares |

Calabar port is working again and these people are crying. Why are they always unhappy when others make progress? They're here crying like barren witches but the Governors in their 5 states have done nothing to increase investors confidence and stimulate growth in the region. Look at Ariaria market, Igbos are waiting for Buhari to clear the gutter and construct the market inner roads. There's an International Airport in Owerri, they have not yet figured out how to use it. Lagos is presently building the Lekki Free Trade Zone and Lekki Deep Seaport. Ogun is building the largest energy city in Africa. Kano is building the 2nd largest trading city in Nigeria but what are the Igbo Governors doing? Umahi is the PRO of hersmen Rochas is erecting statues And Ikpeazu the worst scum of all is mixing mud with cement to construct roads in Abia. Stop any Igbo man and ask him to mention just one economic project his State Governor is embarking on, he won't be able to give a sensible answer. Meanwhile, these same Governors are bringing money to buy properties in Lagos and Abuja. If the Igbos don't pick themselves up and elect visionary leaders, 20 years from now, they'll still keep blaming everyone but themselves and hawking gala all over the place. 9 Likes 2 Shares |
