Yes there is. Keep checking, you should be able to get a date in August, especially for Abuja.

Congratulations and all the best!

Hi Guys

Please I will like to seek your opinion on a matter.

I have been trying to conceive for about 4 years. I got pregnant this year and I am currently 18 weeks gone.

I applied for American Visa two days ago and get an interview date scheduled in September 24 (For Abuja In Fact). The sad thing is that I will be around 34 weeks by then which leaves with me about 1 week/ or less to prepare and leave Nigeria (and that is if I eventually get the visa).

I am a little worried that the fact that the travel date and the interview date are so close may reduce my chances of getting the visa. My plan is to ensure that everything I need is ready even before that interview date such that if I am granted the visa I can leave immediately without stress.

I have started speaking to a doctor and he has accept to treat and deliver me while I am there. Alternatively, is there a chance to get an earlier interview date?

Hello guys,

Please I need your opinion on something.

1. I'm gonna be travelling at 35weeks plus 2 days. I've read conflicting information on this thread about flying with Emirates. Is 35weeks +1 say equal to 36weeks ? Do I need to fill the medif form to fly at 35w+2days? Or is my doctors fit to fly sufficient?

2. For those that used Dr Xydas/HNWMC, do I need to do labs here or are they covered in the fee paid? As much as possible I don't want to incur additional cost in the US on labs.

Thanks a mill for your response.

Thanks dear kiss I’m going in November my baby is a December baby so hopefully I get better deals in December grin. When I saw some items that’s are like 210 I converted to naira and started having double mind as to if I should purchase or not
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by Mamajayjay: 1:05pm On Jun 08, 2018
December is even a better sales period . Stores like babys r us, carters, gap, even Burlington. You will buy more than enough. Nigerian stores will still add store rent money, flight money. Plus the food they ate before they went shopping to the price . My sister, save your that headache. Wishing you all the best.

This should help for question 1. IMO you should fill MEDIF and still have the fit to fly.

Please who knows any good paediatrician in Houston preferably Richmond or Sugarland area that can do circumcision very well at a very reasonable price. Hospital circumcision is quite expensive. Thanks

I’ll personally advise you to wait if you can till you’re in Nigeria because it’s wayyyyy cheaper here compared with the 300-500usd you’ll get as the cheapest over there.

When I used Dr.Xydas even if u have labs from Nigeria, they also do their labs for u including pap smear, which is incurred/ added in ur doctors bill already.

Pls not u will still do blood works in the hospital if going for CS, so please bear in mind u will pay that fee too, for urs and ur LO.

Best of luck

But i wanted to know did you produce any Nigerian doctor letter stating you have high risk pregnancy as stated in news and forum as a pre-requisite to get medical visa for child birth ?

The Embassy outlined some conditions which have to be met before such a visa which falls under medical tourism category is issued.

This it said, is necessary to encourage applicants to be truthful during visa interviews.
One: The applicant has to show proof of available funds of at least $140,000 (about N22 million) to pay medical fees, and secondly, the applicant has to show proof of the need for medical attention in the US such as high risk pregnancy and the likes.
US Embassy Chief of Consular Section, Ms. Carol Cox, in an interview with select journalists in Abuja, yesterday disclosed that it would cost at least $60,000 to have a baby in the US.

I was there, a short queue but wasn’t moving.after almost 10minutes, First cpb shows up and called my name, Yetunde, please come with me. My heart skipped.he said I’m supposed to go to the secondary inspection first before coming down for baggage inspection. On our way back up, he asked if it’s my first baby inUS and I said yes but I have other children already, then he asked if I was using oakbend and dr F, I said yes oakbend but drZ, then he said he must be new there cos he doesn’t know him.he was very friendly. We got to secondary inspection and he said I should sit, he pointed at me and handed my passport to another cpb,Not many people were there but we’re all looking serious. I sat with one Nigerian lady that we flew together and she wa whispering to me that this place is hot o. I kept a straight face too. After about five minutes, he called me and said let’s go.he took me bag to baggage inspection, on our way, he said make sure you pay all your bills, don’t accept Medicaid, insurance or tip. Make sure you read everything before you sign and get al your receipts. We got to baggage inspection, he took me straight to the front, asked me to go sit down and handed over my passport to the cpb there, who called baggage people to go get my bag, after about 15 minutes, he called me, gave me my passport and asked me to proceed to the custom then baggage inspection, they asked me if I have dried ponmo, I said yes and they opened my bag and seized it and that was all. I checked my passport and saw that I was stamped for 6 months, I didn’t even know the point where it was stamped , like I said I read this thread from part one and learnt everything here.

Congratulations!

Dear expectingmum,

Please you only need to ask your question once. You don't need to quote so many people just to ask the same question. It's called spamming!

To answer your question, the interview you quoted was from five years ago (2013) and many women, including Me, have successfully obtained visas and birthed with far less than $60,000.

Walmart. they're still quite cheaper in the US. We produce nothing in naija...So most of those things you'd see in jumia and konga were imported. So, what i did was to compare the prices on jumia and konga with the Walmart prices and concluded that it is cheaper to buy abroad.
