End-user contact doesn't seem to have made much difference. I have never received a positive reply. It might have contributed to one or two of the low $ sales I have managed in all these years, though.

Pretty much my story, although I have been around for longer and registered more names. I had to run away for about a year thinking it was all a scam.

I returned - just as someone said on the NP thread that many people do - when I saw even guys that appeared to be newer reporting sales here on Nairaland. Made my first sales, but none has been more than 199 bucks.

This is why I sometimes called those reporting sales here the lucky ones. It takes more than knowing what names to register and how to compose mails to succeed, I must say.

The money I paid someone here on Nairaland on my return to domaining didn't make any difference. The filters I had come up with from research for expired domain names were even better than what I was provided with. I felt I wasted money, but it was a token.

Such is life, and my luck.

Guys in registering a domain do u guys consider WBY and ABY and if you do give us d reasons.
Some domains might never sell after all your research so parking it might come in handy, do we need to check WBY and ABY before considering a domain.
I just got a new laptop and i am back for good.

Domaining isn't scam. It might take you a lot of time to profit/success but it isn't scam. It requires hard work, dedication, patience and luck.

I relate to your story because I've been in your shoes before. I started domaining about 5 years ago but took me 3 years to make a profit.
Even if you get a lot of sales, you can still get turned off when sales disappear . So please, i urge you not to quit but to rethink strategy. I invite you to PM me if you will.

Paying someone is like looking for a handout, you'd hardly get far. There's free flowing information just on Namepros alone. I still learn alot on the site

People who consider (WBY, ABY, ZBY, CEO, LOL, 666) when buying domain are those who still think estibot is the most efficient way to appraise a domain. They are metrics, just metrics, nothing more

I think you've spent a lot of time hand regging domains. I invite you to check out platforms where domains are recognized by the number of bids, increasing prices and auction close date.

So I started reading this thread around this time last month (May 2018), after getting to about page 50, I got motivated enough to buy some (10) domain names on namesilo costing about 26k in total between 18th and 24th of May 2018.

I did outbound for about a week and I didn't get any response from potential buyers so I lost my motivation and totally forgot about domaining around May 30th 2018.

However, exactly 1 week ago (June 7th, 2018) I got an email from namesilo telling me that my domain name has been sold for $300 and I am left with $277.5 after commission.

I have bought 6 more domains since then (making my portfolio 15), and the payout of my $277.5 will be enabled today.

What I have learnt within my 1 month of domaining;

1. Read this thread very well and take the advises seriously.

2. Don't buy domains with very high advert rates (domains where the end users are already advertising on Google and other websites).

3. ALWAYS INCLUDE A BUY IT NOW BUTTON ON YOUR SALES PAGE.

4. The business is real, if it is slow, don't loss your motivation.

5. Make EXPIRED DOMAINS DOT NET your frequently visited website.
