Hello Seun, kudos for the good job here.
I have issues with my AC... Blowing hot air.
Vehicle was withdrawn from the driver (Uber, careless and a story teller) sometime last month. He had issues with the AC and he said he fixed it at ikeja (after driving on Uber and taxify with defective AC and getting suspended). I believe he refilled the gas.
Barely a week later the AC was blowing hot again. Took it to a guy at gbagada who said there was a leak (no leak test done) and that the condenser was bad and needs changing. As a stop-gap he refilled gas and oil with assurances that it'll take me for the next 3 months when I'll be ready for the major fix... AC was chilling after this.
Fast forward a little over 2 weeks after we're back to square one. Abeg wetin make we do. Car is a Corolla 06 bought tokunbo around this time last year.

Thanks in anticipation.

Cc. Gazzuzz

You will need to find the leak. Diagnosis required.

Hello Oluwaseunla,

Kindly recommend a locally used car make and model suitable for e-hailing (Uber) with buying pointers to look out for.

Thank you.

Cc. Gazzuzz

If you can get one that is not abused, 2003-2008 honda city.

For what to look out for, check the thread below:

My engine oil level is giving me headaches. I regularly add 1 liter of oil every two weeks. The oil level always gets short despite no leaks wherever I park.
The emission of the car is still as expected without color.
It's a Toyota 2007 Camry, straight 4 engine.
I have been advised to change the engine. What do you think?
Cc @oluwaseunla
Does anyone know the cost of a 2007 Toyota Camry complete engine?

Any history of overheating?

Have someone stay at the back to watch the tail pipe while engine is revved. Observe tail pipe emissions.

Any traces of oil in coolant compartment?

That particular car has a factory default of oil shortage.
Most Toyotas use 5W30 abi 5W20(never owned a Toyota and never intend to) so you are using a wrong oil weight which could be complicating d factory default.

If you have an early model 2GR-FE vehicle, you may want to take a look at this thread:

https://www.nairaland.com/4528370/2gr-fe-oil-cooler-pipe-replacement#67952309

Implicated vehicles include:
2008 Toyota Highlander, Venza V6, Camry V6, Avalon, Sienna, Solara V6 etc.

Today's tip: Coolants limits the spread of rust within your vehicle's cooling system. Long term, it is much more advisable than water.

I have a budget of 900 for Yaris 2008 or Camry 2001(very neat), I would have love to obtain corolla 2003 but seems it is out of reach.
The question here is: out of the Yaris 2008 and Camry 2001, which can be maintained well on a low monthly budget, pls need your advice.

Since you are buying a Nigerian used car, maintenance costs will be more dependent on the state of the car at point of purchase than the brand of the car.

Yes sir..on the 4 cylinder option, EX has no leather, but EX-L has leather, I am very sure about that

You are wrong. All 4 cylinder EX has leather. EX-L is simply the V6 version of EX.

Yeah I was wrong but not completely wrong, let me explain
On the EX option.. Leather upholstery is an option, fabric upholstery is standard.. Hence you can get Ex with leather or without leather
While the EX-L comes with only leather upholstery and comes with all options(we call it full option in Naija grin) but navigation is still optional sha

My car is EX-L and it's 4 cylinder so you were also wrong grin grin

Is it advisable to buy a Nigerian used 2008 or 2009 honda accord? I love the car. I'm just trying to be careful, I was using a 2003 Toyota matrix (bought as tokunbo) before I sold it and that car traumatized me cry I'm not into the Toyota hype any more angry apart from that, honda cars have nicer interiors.

Tread carefully @bolded. In these parts, we seem to have a bad habit of abusing cars. Have a tech inspect before paying.
