I have never supported the dullard from Daura, but this time around the lawmakers went too far, they do not have any write to add anything to that budget, their job is to vet not to draft a budget. Drafting a budget remains an exclusive job of the executive.
But this finally exposes how weak, dull and inept our president is. If things like this happen, stamp your foot on the ground, punish whoever that is culpable and stop claiming to fight corruption on the pages of newspapers and social media.

You don't need to be told what would have happened if the president sent back that document to the NASS, definitely by September we'd still be talking about signing 2018 budget; and I don't need to tell you who would take all the blame if that happens.

His "ranting" is very much in order. He's only trying to educate us on how the NASS is so bent on sabotaging his government but real lovers of progress and truth know that Buhari means good for this country but unfortunately he can't do it alone without the support of you and me and the NASS. NASS is full of corrupt elements with selfish interests but what is most problematic is the fact the citizens of this country will rather support and hail thieves than identify with real progressives

point of correction, getting the budget signed as quickly as possible is in public interest, and when you go against public interest and welfare, you get yourself on the wrong side of the public. So whether you argue that he signed it for fear of public scorn, or whether he signed it for the sake of public interest, the most important thing is that signing the budget as quickly as possible is for public good.

And yeah, there is something called supplementary budgeting to correct any issues with the budget without having to keep the economy of the nation on standstill. Some extracts from the budget signing speech below:

Was it of public interest to sign a budget that was allegedly tampered by legislators and padded? If he cares about the peoples welfare all he had to do was withhold assent and exploit the relevant constitutional provision to factor "our" welfare.
