All the projects are meant for States and Local governments, but the lazy lawmakers went ahead to criminally insert the projects for the Federal Government. See for yourself. fiizznation: As in: Most of these projects are so patheticly elementary that a common financially stable individual can donate. Even some former beauty queens and youth corners are donating bigger projects. If these are the dividends of the house of assembly and reps, despite the obscene amounts of funds it cost to run it. It's like pouring $10 billions yearly on feeding 323 pigs who do nothing but get fat and squeal and pupu all over the place. Goddamn the senate and house of rep! 112 Likes 14 Shares |

The issue is not just reading about this looting strategy by the national assembly members but stopping them from actualizing this very fraudulent act in the budget. PMB can only inform the public about such but he cannot stop them. Only the people can stop them. Everyone should join hands with trakka or any other NGO in fighting corruption by whatever means. 60 Likes 7 Shares |

I have never supported the dullard from Daura, but this time around the lawmakers went too far, they do not have any right to add anything to that budget, their job is to vet not to draft a budget. Drafting a budget remains an exclusive job of the executive. But this finally exposes how weak, dull and inept our president is. If things like this happen, stamp your foot on the ground, punish whoever that is culpable and stop claiming to fight corruption on the pages of newspapers and social media. 28 Likes 5 Shares |

CilicMarin:As much as I hate to say this publicly, NASS guys have shown to be greedy and selfish bunch. Those ridiculous projects were inserted for them to have their own share of loot, that's all!!! If they really care about the grassroots they shouldn't have voted against local government autonomy. Shame to them! Now my question is, WHY DID BUHARI ASSENT TO IT? 13 Likes |

TonyeBarcanista:Tonye, the answer to that question is visible to the blind and audible to the deaf. Today is the 22nd of June, in 8 days time, half of 2018 will be gone, but we're still battling with 2018 budget? You don't need to be told what would have happened if the president sent back that document to the NASS, definitely by September we'd still be talking about signing 2018 budget; and I don't need to tell you who would take all the blame if that happens. 54 Likes 3 Shares |

PDP is yet to speak because the people that perpetrated this evil are PDP and their members in principle. The one that concerns Nigeria PDP will not speak but the one that concerns them of charging their members to court for corruption they'll start disturbing Nigerians with useless press statement and writing letters to UN, US and European union. NASS leadership that perpetrated this evil are Saraki member nPDP, Dogara nPDP, Ike Ekweremadu PDP, Senator Goje appropriation committee chairman nPDP, vice chairman appropriation committee PDP from South East, Dino Melaye nPDP, Abaribe PDP, senator Shehu Sani PDP sympathizer. You all can see why PDP is yet to speak on this evil committed by this NASS because those majorly involved are their members and members in principle. Never again will God allow PDP to come back to power. The PDP we saw before, and PDP we see now, we the children of God and good people of Nigeria will see them no more. 38 Likes 5 Shares |

TonyeBarcanista:His "ranting" is very much in order. He's only trying to educate us on how the NASS is so bent on sabotaging his government but real lovers of progress and truth know that Buhari means good for this country but unfortunately he can't do it alone without the support of you and me and the NASS. NASS is full of corrupt elements with selfish interests but what is most problematic is the fact the citizens of this country will rather support and hail thieves than identify with real progressives 44 Likes 7 Shares |

TonyeBarcanista:Lol... I know you know better than this, but you just have to practice your political profession diligently. ![]() ![]() point of correction, getting the budget signed as quickly as possible is in public interest, and when you go against public interest and welfare, you get yourself on the wrong side of the public. So whether you argue that he signed it for fear of public scorn, or whether he signed it for the sake of public interest, the most important thing is that signing the budget as quickly as possible is for public good. And yeah, there is something called supplementary budgeting to correct any issues with the budget without having to keep the economy of the nation on standstill. Some extracts from the budget signing speech below: http://punchng.com/president-buharis-speech-at-the-signing-of-2018-budget-into-law/ 2. When I submitted the 2018 Budget proposals to the National Assembly on 7th November 2017, I had hoped that the usual legislative review process would be quick, so as to move Nigeria towards a predictable January-December financial year. The importance of this predictability cannot be overemphasized.I hope you now understand why it would be detrimental to keep hanging on the budget till September even as the economy is left on standstill?.. I imagine that is something you would crave as an opposition politician, i.e. for the economy to be in a mess so you can ride on that in 2019; funny man! 15. Notwithstanding the above stated observations, I have decided to sign the 2018 Budget in order not to further slowdown the pace of recovery of our economy, which has doubtlessly been affected by the delay in passing the budget. 28 Likes 7 Shares |

If he return this also, that means no 2018 budget. And that is a perfect game plan of nass. Buhari will only implement his own. 12 Likes |

TonyeBarcanista:I pointed out the importance of quickly signing the budget and the economic detriments of continually having it delayed. I also pointed out clearly that in order not to keep the economy on 'freeze mode' indefinitely, it was important to sign the budget so the economic train can start moving, while the option of a supplementary budget (to correct the errors) can be exploited later. All these issues were very clearly explained in the budget presentation speech, extracts of which I showed to you in my last post. Tonye, I'm sure you know comprehend my points very well, but are just trying to raise an argument for politics' sake. That explains why I find your arguments amusing. 26 Likes 2 Shares |

TonyeBarcanista: 2018 budget was submitted in November 2017 and NASS sat on the budget waiting for the year to nearly end before approving it and you know very well it was deliberately done to frustrate PMB's government. The year has gone half and you still expect PMB to withold signing the budget and send it back to the thieves at NASS who will probably take another 6 months to do something. When then will the 2018 budget be implemented?? Simply put, he signed the budget in the interest of the masses because when 2 elephants fight, the grass suffers. I will refer you this brilliant post to enable you further understand truth of what the NASS has done: https://www.nairaland.com/4576212/unethical-conduct-national-assembly 17 Likes 4 Shares |
