After printing the statement is it compulsory I must leave the money in the account before I get my visa respond or can remove some of it for other personal us?

Yes. Infact remove ALL the money and use it for your “personal use”.
Use the balance to play Nairabet.
Matter of fact, get an overdraft and let the account read a minus (-) balance.
You ask silly questions, you should be ready to receive silly answer.

Good day dear house ps my step sister wishes to apply for UK student visa from Nigeria for her master and she doesn't know how to go about it. Ps I really need someone that will be able to give us all the guidance she need and the procedures. The most important thing is that we want to know how much she can have in her savings account to procedure for all these. Will 4 or 5M be okey ps

Tell your sister to come on Nairaland travel section and go the first page of this thread and read through. she is coming for MSc, she needs to carry out research herself and if she has specific questions she needs help on, then she can ask.

@laajiblik @justwise and every other experts, please can i get an urgent reply on this question. So i just got my mums statement of account for a tier 4 visa , but my mums account name doesnt have my surname or any prove to show she is my mother, she used her business name to open her account. Please will this be a problem?? She has a business card also though, and her business card has her business name and her real name(a name with my surname) as well. I am thinking of attaching her business card with her Statement of account, what do you think?

Hello dear, since she is your mother, tell her to transfer all money to your account, trust me it makes life easier for you.

Hello everyone,
Apart from having a NIN do i also need to get a letter from my uni to open a bank account?

what is your bank demanding from you? 2 proof of adresss? if YES, then you will need your NIN0 and a letter from your international department confirming your adress.

I also think it is possible for international students to open accounts without NINO with some banks. When an International student provides their passport, BRP and a student status letter (or a letter written to the bank on your behalf) from your school which confirms your home address.

How much is her school fees and where in the UK is her school located?

Dear Justwise and all, am new to naira land but I have been reading and following up on all UK thread. I had my masters in the UK and came back in 2016, got married the same 2016, and then started to work as I saved for my PhD. Now, I applied and got 4 admissions in the UK. Paid a part if my tuition fee.

Now I want to travel with my husband as my dependant. He works as a lecturer in an institute and recently concluded his masters. We have 15million for our bank statement. 5Million for him and 11million for him. I also work. We also have money for our visa processing. I also have a US visa that is still valid to expire next year. He has not travelled before.

We have been together since 2013 but officially started dating in January 2014, truout my stay in the UK we always talked and skyped a lot immediately I came back, we got married.

But our bank statement was given by our both parents. Can my dad show for the both of us or does the money need to be transfered to my own account.

My questions are as follows:

1) What is the chance of us getting the visa (we are not bearing the same surname but we have a court marriage certificate).
2) whose account should the money be in?
3) Do we need to show pictures, house rent receipts, bills, and other things or landed documents to show we have ties?
4) what other ties can we show? Do we need employment letters (for both of us) or what?

My school resumes in October.

Please I need these answers quickly as am about to burst from anxiousness.

I will really appreciate all answers gurus of the house. Thank you.

I am not a guru in this matter, but I have some little experience.

If I am to offer my 1 kobo suggestion, I’m afraid I will punctuate it with a lot of questions.

1. Can you effectively process YOUR own Tier 4 Student visa independent of your husband?

2. If I were you, I will focus FIRST on the T4 Student visa. The T4 dependent visa can be ‘Story for another day’

3. I think you need to do a lot of maths. 15,000,000 not be as big as you think. Though I don’t know how much tuition you have already paid. If we conservatively say that you are required to show evidence of maintenance funds of £9,135 that amounts to ~4,400,000 naira. x 2 is about 9,000,000 naira. So I think you are good on that. Since you have 15,000,000 already.

4. The most confusing aspect of your question is the part where you said your bank statements were given by your respective parents, after you initially said you were personally saving for your PhD. However, there is a solution.

I know that the rule allows for parents account statement to be used for their children. If I am an ECO however and I see married couples deciding to now become “Children of their parents” for the purpose of T4 visa application, I would simply refuse the visa - without thinking twice.

Simple advice:
Your respective parents should transfer the monies into your respective accounts. Then you use those statements.

As to evidence of the marriage, a legal marriage certificate is required.
Then you may wish to garnish it with photographs of your wedding, photos of your honeymoon, photos of you together, maybe at public functions... some conversation evidence such as whatsapp messages may be used, but to be honest, I don’t think this is necessary. But sometimes, it’s better to have more than less.

I hope that helps...

Good day.
Please a quick question.

Will $17k from my sponsor (mom) be sufficient enough for my application?

I look forward to your feedbacks.

Thanks in anticipation.

Thank you for your reply, its both. money earned 9 million and parents helped with the remaining.

Thank you so much for this. Also, not all the bank statement was raised by my parents. When I mean we have been saving, that includes for tuition, visa processing, flight, accommodation. We raised 9million for the statement and our parents assisted with the remaining. They can also pay it into the account by Monday but in whose account?

School: City University of London

Tuition fee: 12,500

Amount paid: 4,000

The 16 million, sorry its 16 not 15million.

5 million is for my husband's living expense calculated at 10,000 pounds as against 9,135 while 11million is for me.The remaining part of my school fees which is 8,500+12,000 living expense as against 11,.....something for students in London so, i used 12,000) totalling 20, 500 and used 500naira=1 pound.

Absolutely Nothing bad if you want your boo with you.
Usually, the “rate limiting step” is the funds.
But since you already have enough in your PERSONAL accounts to show that funds is not a problem, just prepare to greet GrandMa Lizzy and Mummy Tessy.
When you reach London, also help us greet Uncle Sadiq, Oga Jerry Corbyn and Ogbeni Boris Johnson

Ok you will be fine financially, for your hubby you need to show that you have £845 per month for 9 months which is £7,605(N3,589,020) + your own maintenance money £1265 per month for 9months.

Get all the money in your own account and count for the 28days before making an application

Thank you so much for this positive answer, I feel more calm now. God will surely bless you sir.

One last question please what questions are we expecting? Especially my dependant?

I already read almost the whole thread from page 1 and I have an idea of the questions they will ask me. But since its PhD, if they ask me what courses am going to take. What will my answer be?

Cc@justwise please help out sir

Happy new month to you sir, may God bless you and your family in this new month. amen.

OK sir, we will do just that. The money will be paid into my account.

What questions are we expecting?

Will we be interviewed separately and on different days?

Do we need to include pictures when its not stated? (Will it not seem like something else)?

Are our chances of getting the visa high?

I have read the thread from page 1 though i have not finished, and have good knowledge of questions that they can ask me but am oblivious of his own possible questions.

I will also appreciate insight of other questions I have not come across and I might expect

Also, should we are not applying for a priority visa hope its OK or do you advise we apply for priority or super priority.

Good morning sir and happy new month to you and your family. May you be highly favoured, amen.
