Absolutely spot on. We always want the latest 2018 model and when it is 2020, your friends are already buying 2021 and you want to upgrade, 'so they dont laugh at you', even your wife will say 'honey, my friend's husband just got her the latest Range Rover for her birthday', then as a 'rich man' you buy it, to make your wife happy, so you can have peace of mind. Then you sell out the 2018 at half the price, a truck designed to last for 15yrs, we want the latest stuff. And we steal to get the money to buy it. And then we say we are lucky. We call it 'opportunity', and God's doing. But a white man of first generation, will drive that 15yrs old car for 16 years and customize it to a classic and drive another 5 years. Then plants a garden for all his food and budgets for cloths once a year. Impresses no one and walks around with boxers, but he is worth over $50m in assets, split into 401k, CD, ROTHIRA, Sovereign Bonds etc. Then he writes the family Will and plan for the transfer of wealth from his kids, to grand kids and design a brand, for the family business to last for 100 years. In Nigeria, there is no Will, when the father did not even save enough to take care of his liver and kidney issues at old age. Africa ? Just have some money and all your relatives have stopped struggling. Your mother in-law will move in, then your sisters will battle with your wife and be asking questions like 'Do you know how he went to school ?' Africa, una wahala na stupidity and ignorant be una problem and the funny thing is, if you explain, they tell you that you do not know God. That God will always provide. Even the Gods, as powerful as they are, still need our Tithes. 22 Likes 3 Shares |

We are poor simply because of our leaders poverty is designed for us because dey know dats d best way to control us or get us to vote for dem besides out colonial masters too have a hand in it we are their business centre which our african presidents are their puppets it would only take unity of the masses to fight dis bondage. The last hope is gone that is the judiciary n religious leaders and God sef is tired of us too its left for us to do the needful if we really want to come out of dis i dont blame people leaving in droves dey care for their sanity n wellbeing |

Ask Nigerian Gunment to show you any weapon they used to fight the Biafran war and see how useless they're. But Biafrans kept and preserved theirs. Ask them again the casualty figure on their side during the war and watch them shout.. 'Igbos lost 3 million souls during the war'. They kept the record of Igbo casualties during the war but are unable to keep their own casualty record...what a country. The so-called religion and culture are not left out. We Nigerians deceive ourselves a lot, all in the name of religion and culture. I am really interested in adding "Uncontrolled Birth Rate" to the list. With the rate at which our population increases, if the birth rate is not controlled, the percentage of "Very Poor" people will continue to increase on yearly basis and this will also increase the crime rate. Nigeria News media reported about two weeks ago that "6 Nigerians become very poor every minute". I believe we need a policy that will control birth rate. 2 Likes |

Organism000:You see, modernity was thrust upon us. We did not prepare for it, so we're finding it hard to adjust. At heart and in our mentality we're not culturally different from people who lived in 1905 in Africa. Forget churches, cars, cell phones, flashy accessories and the apparently modern way we seem to live. In the past a man with many wives and kids and therefore able to have a large farm was a provider for many. In-laws, cousins, uncles, aunts and others would come to his barn to carry loads of yam. To dig up cocoa yam and cassava, pluck pepper, harvest rice and beans and such and carry home. We were told a story as kids: an elderly woman went to collect free yam tubers from his junior brother's VERY large yam barn in his farm. The brother asked her to pick & choose which rows of yam she wanted and she picked the best & biggest tubers. But on the floor of the barn were tiny broken pieces of yam. The lady wanted to have those broken pieces but too shy too ask. The brother couldn't have known that someone who collected the best yams would still covet tiny broken pieces on the floor. She left the farm inwardly furious for not being offered those tiny pieces of yam. For that reason she used her witchcraft to kill her generous junior brother. She later confessed what she did. Morale is you can do your best for them but the little seemingly irrelevant stuff you didn't do is enough to turn them against you. Farm produce were not really sold but stored to survive through the year. At most you might swap one row of yellow yams for three rows of white or water yams, two rows for a goat or sheep, etc. So once one family member rises up financially a little bit, he comes the Red Cross, UNHCR & UNICEF of the entire extended family. Many will now rely on hand-outs from him. Many will call him stingy & some will even try diabolical/juju things against him for alleged neglect of their financial needs. Many relatives who could have gone out to hustle, create wealth and be independent now all sit idle. This creates massive poverty all round. Sad thing is should the worst happen to the "one-man" charity organisation, his nuclear family suffers the most. Most would assume he left truckloads of money behind. To the point that his widow may never have peace because of his family. Very sad situation. 13 Likes 2 Shares |

Organism000: Well, hopefully. First step is to have limited number of kids. 1-4 max. So that we can train them and equip them better for life. We will also have less poor people as jobs will go round better. The more self-sufficient people are, the less burden on others. Family planning, personal independence, financial education & investment/Wealth Creation should be taught from around primary 3 in schools. And drummed into brains as early as possible. 4 Likes |
