awesomeJ:Election as the name implies don't caused downfall, but what follows election causes market downfall. Bombing of oil pipe line the moment Goodluck looses election in 2015, resulted in reduction of the amount of crude oil Nigeria pump per a day, from 2 million barrel per a day to about 800,000 barrel per a day, this can be seen as a pay back to boko haram distraction during Goodluck administration, and northern gang up to pull him off, this couple with fall in international crude oil price joined to sent Nigeria into recession, which Nigeria is yet to recover from. Why did some bank like Oceanic, Intercontinental bank, etc mainly own by southerner has problems during Yaradua administration, it goes beyond what an ordinary man can view, some might not know that it has something doing with his second term bid, before he met his untimely death. Whether one like it or not, there must always be an opposition in politics, and each party as far as Nigeria concern must always try to reduce the influence of the other, in order to win election, most at times, direct attack on the business of perceived oppositions are carried out. Election building up, use to be period of political fight, which Nigerian politician go extra mile, in their quest to seize power. Foreign investors don't usually gamble their money during this period. Now, Boko haram has graduated to herdsmen, Niger Delta militant has not started their own, all this factors posed fear of unknown to investors, thereby affecting the market. |
