My comment went over ur head. I am not talking about the different tribes trying to communicate with each other. I am talking about ppl within the same tribes talking and still preferring to speak pidgin. I see it a lot in ppl from delta.

Gerrout of here. So you think Yorubas don't have different dialects?

Those are not dialects! They are separate languages and regarded as such. They are not mutually intelligible whatsoever.

Never ever compare the Yorùbá situation to the Edo situation. You know nothing.

I didn't say everybody in Bayelsa though not the rural area just Yenagoa and you know Portharcourt people has the cleanest English Delta also has some intonations they all seem to have that Urhobo accent even if they not from the tribe or speak it. Maybe it's because you're from there and you've been hearing your fellow deltans speak for long so it's sstarting to feel normal. listen when they pronounce Sh and Ch sounds like Chop they pronounce it as Shop. that's Delta accent even Bayelsans too share that Shosh for church accent too. Most Bayelsans in the Southern most places where they speak Izon and Nembe you'd hear them saying SOS for Church. But for New born Yenagoans it's not like that although they sometimes say Jejus for Jesus but it's just a few people the ones that stays near or are Epie Attisa speakers. But really I tell you the Yenagoans who speak pidgin as a first language don't really have tribal intonations like me.

There are still debates on pidgin being a proper language

Stop to dey misyarn before Okere juju flog you there.

Nigerian Pidgin is regarded by linguists as a variety of West African Pidgin Englishes! Infact, in the Sapele-Warri axis, Pidgin is undergoing creolisation. There are dedicated scholars of Nigerian Pidgin, notable among them is Professor Egbokhare of UI. There are even groups devoted to the documentation and standardisation of the orthography and linguistics of Nigerian Pidgin.

Do you even know there is a dictionary of Nigerian Pidgin?

I bet you don't know there are many books, including literary works, published in Pidgin?

How would you know? You just carry phone dey observe opata like lizard wey neck dey pain. Better go and educate yourself. Keep forming good English with your ignorance.

I beg to differ. If you can speak English, you can speak English. It doesn't matter if you speak pidgin frequently or not, except you are struggling with your spoken english already.
It is like saying speaking creole or patua will spoil your English.

Black Americans that murder the English language, is it pidgin that affected them? Once again, I reiterate, if you know how to speak English, you know how to speak English.

yoruba is not the original yoruba....if you want to hear original yoruba, you have to go deep into abeokuta.....ijebu stuff....

infact, their are no original yoruba language....even back then yoruba had dialects....

and dont forget too...yoruba language is not only restricted to nigeria....dahomy,togo...ashanti,ghana are the same ethnic group....go to togo today and you will hear people talking a strange dialect of yoruba......

this is una problem....una concentrate too much on maps that whites drew to you...mostly igbos do this mistake....

igbos have no slightest idea that they are related to people from south cameroon....
