This is not for you, PRincessUy but for whoever clicked 'like' for that your post. I see that some garbage people can quickly click like for any nonsense comment posted here. What she said in that post makes no sense and shouldn't warrant any like unless you're a nonsense being.

Now, this is for you. Like I told, career-wise, microbiology (applied science) is unrelated with nursing (healthcare). The only courses you would have taken before, which are also required for nursing are basic maths, general chemistry and general biology. Microbiology student (either bs or ms) don't do psychology, human anatomy & physiology and sociology. All of which are required before entry into direct msn program. This is what I mean by the vo knows you will need some prereqs to start msn and so he wasn't asking you about why you don't go for a masters in nursing. He was asking why are you going from one BS to another BS and not masters (microbiology).

Those repreqs I listed there are not part of microbiology (msc) curriculum. They can only be taken outside microbiology department in any school at anytime. For you to know I know what I'm telling you, I did my bachelors in biochemistry in Nigeria (took many classes with micro students), I did my masters in biochemistry in US (took advanced microbial physiology with micro students), I did my Post Bac for prereqs for PA school after my masters. And I did it in a large class that consist of all healthcare/medical students but no science major students. Now I'm doing masters in PA, this is the only time I don't take any courses with nurses because mine is medical field. In the nearest future if you want to do a direct msn program, you will have to follow the steps I followed.

If at this point you're still not clear, God help you when you're facing similar question next time.

Please someone should help me out here.. I have done my first degree here in Nigeria and i want to study another course in the USA as an undergraduate.. My question is what are my chances of getting a visa since is not masters program am going for..

My opinion

Nobody can accurately calculate or predict your chances.

That you asked this question shows how sceptical you are about your chances.

Why are you going for another bachelor's? This is a 1 million dollar question that requires a 10 million dollar answer.

Morning people, kindly criticize my proposed transcript

VO: Good morning

Me: Good morning ma or sir

VO: I will be approving your visa.

Me: Thank you and God bless

There are many good part to start with but no VO would give you time to say all you have there. You need to shorten your answers to question, be specific and direct. One or two reason is enough for a question. You can also shoot yourself in your leg by talking too much. I wish you all the best

Good day all,

Initially, I wanted to post my Transcript when I collect my passport at my preferred collection centre, but the thought that some fellows here might have visa appointment(and can equally learn from my experience) before I finally get my passport has propelled me to post it now. Also, since my status has changed from 'Administrative Processing' to 'Issued' leaves me with little need for worries.

I was among the last ten persons that were interviewed that day so you could imagine the kind of patience that was displayed that day.‎

My Visa Transcript on Thursday at US Embassy Abuja. Was called to Window 9

VO: Pass me your passport and i-20, fast please
Me: I passed them
VO: How did you hear about this school?
Me: I got to know about Michigan Tech University when I was researching on top chemical engineering schools with research area on membrane separation technology

She was busy looking at my i-20, and immediately raised her face and said to me"wow..you are going full scholarship!" I smiled back blushingly.

VO: How did you get it?
Me: I had Skype Interview with my potential supervisor after which he recommended me to graduate committee for consideration

VO: Can I see your offer letter?
Me: I took my time and found it in my file and gave it to her

She read it for a while and continued..
VO: How many schools did you apply to?
Me: I also applied to University of Texas, Austin and Auburn University, Alabama
VO: How many admits?
Me: This is the only admit I got
VO: Where did you do your Master's?
Me: I am interested in Research that was why I opted for Direct PhD
VO: What will you be specialising on?
Me: I will be specialising on membrane separation technology, we will be researching on the use of membrane in treatment of water and industrial wastewater, and also for gas separation.

VO: The two other schools you applied were they Masters or PhD?
Me: I applied for PhD in all of them

VO: Do you have any family in the US?
Me: Not yet

VO: What will you do with this degree?
Me: On completion of my program, I will have equipped myself with research expertise and necessary knowledge that will enable contribute to evolution of Engineering in Nigeria. It will also make me more productive when I return to lecture in Unizik.

It seemed she asked another question but I didn't hear that......she typed for a while and told me something I didn't hear completely, ".......... pick up your passport after 4 working days, congratulations and be careful..."She gave me the white paper and my i-20..

More grace to those about to go for their appointments..
Thanks so much to everyone who has posted or commented on this thread; your inputs served me greatly during my preparations. I am most grateful

When was your interview?
Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 13 by NefT: 3:10pm On Jul 22, 2018
ajxii:
Vo: Good Morning
Me: Good Morning (Me not looking at him focused on bringing out my documents)

VO: Why are you going to the US?
Me: I am going to the University of Oklahoma for masters in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. I will be concentrating on Control and Power systems.
Were you interviewed in window 9?

VO: Why this course:
Me: The biggest problem in the Nigerian power sector is Energy tracking and Energy fraud. Disco **stammered here and said** Distributing… **sorry** …distribution company can’t track the amount of energy consumed by their consumer. They …blah blah blah (I lost my train of thought).
Me: I don’t know why am nervous.

VO: Smiles and lean forwards then replies … Calm down, I don’t want you to give a rehearsed answered
Me: No, I am not, I am just trying to articulate my thoughts.

VO: OK Good.. go on
Me: Genco… I mean generating company needs to be paid for energy produced and if the disco can’t track the amount of energy consumed by the consumers then we have a problem with revenue collection. I believe this course would provide me with the right skills to solve this problem. I would be providing automated tracking systems, smarts meter and … (Vo cuts in)

VO: How many schools did you apply to?
Me: 3

VO: List them?
Me: The University of Oklahoma, University of Tennessee, Tennessee Tech University.

VO: Why OU?
Me: Sincerely, rankings. In terms of Quality of education, research interest and facilities, these schools meet my requirements. OU is ranked above the other rest, I have friends in Oklahoma so settling wouldn’t be an issue and the control in OU is combined with instrumentation, so technically OU provides me with more options.

VO: Are you married?
Me: No

VO: Kids?
Me: No

VO: How would you be funding?
Me: (bringing out my prodigy award letter) I secured a student loan from prodigy finance.

VO: (Reaching for the letter) is the amount stated in the letter?
Me: Yes

VO: What is the interest?
Me: 10.8% per annum

VO: And how will be …. Never mind…I will be approving your visa (circles the white sheet)
Me: I was confused…did not hear anything…. I heard … 3days and VI. He passes me my I-20 and kept my passport in among other passports. I was confused and stood there waiting for my passport to be returned before I realized oo I might have gotten this Visa.

I actually went through some past threads of this Topic but I couldn't get my answer as most of the students applying abroad are graduates. Please kindly answer my questions

Are there schools that admit students into their undergraduate programs without SAT/TOEFL but just WAEC?
Also, Do I need to write TOEFL? Cos I wrote English in my WAEC and passed it.

Hello, please am really nervous about my interview that will be coming up by next week ... Have been denied twice under B1/B2 Visa application ( first interview Dec., 2016 and the second interview June 16, 2017)where I am member of a musical band to come and perform in New York but the VO advise us to go for P1 Visa

Now I got admission into Lincoln University in California for MBA in International Business, am applying for F1 Visa, I graduated in year 2015 as an accounting student, finished my Nysc in October 2016 and got a job last year May as an Accountant with a telecommunication company that partners with the network providers (AIRTEL,MTN ) as a major distributor and production of airtime ... My GRE Score is 277, GPA 3.26, my parents sponsoring me ...

Can you please put me through on what to do and my chances, what to say and what to avoid..

If you really care about getting your visa, avoid this school

Public announcement! Let us all be careful of what we post here. This is a public forum that anyone can have access to. I believe interview is getting tougher by the day as a result of some people's comment here.
Don't come here teaching or requesting for how to tell lies. Whatever you want to do, let it be within you and be ready for the consequences. AP is now common here because Ezeigboifo, -or what is that his name- copied lagosNiv and AbujaNiV on someone's misrepresentations and lies on this forum. Don't wash your dirty linings in public, a word is enough for the wise.

Now to this person,

Goldmia:
THIS IS MY 2ND VISA TRANSCRIPT AND I WAS STILL DENIED AGAIN ,PLEASE HELP ME AND REVIEW IT AND PLEASE TELL ME THE NECESSARY CORRECTIONS AND RECTIFICATIONS I HAVE TO MAKE AS I WISH TO REAPPLY FOR THE FINAL TIME.
HERE GOES MY TRANSCRIPT

V.O:WHAT WOULD THIS COURSE DO FOR YOU ON YOUR RETURN TO NIGERIA?
With the advanced knowledge ,I will be able to carefully compare and contrast the difference b/w the course curriculum of that of Nigeria and U.S and try my possible best to bridge the margin b/w the two countries because the education system of the U.S is best compared to none in the world. It is also going to further hone my growth as a writer.

Goldmia, do you know you didn't actually answer this question. Let's remove the word "Nigeria" from the question and forget about comparing the two countries or their education, in a few sentences, tell me the skills and techniques you will able to use as a well trained writer after your school.

Goldmia:
V.O: WAS GRE REQUIRED FOR YOUR ADMISSION?
ME: YES
V.O:BUT HERE,IT SAYS YOU DIDN’T WRITE GRE LAST YEAR.
ME:YES,IT WAS WAIVED FOR ME BECAUSE I HAVE A HIGH GPA AND MY SOP WAS GOOD.

It's good that you're not one of those confused grad students that show up with toefl instead of gre at the embassy. But why did you say no to gre last year when "actually" it was waived for you? Or if it's that you didn't take the test last year but just did now for the interview purpose, you could have said so. In fact, that could have been what changed in your application since the last time you were there. The way you went about that part indicates inconsistency and as you can see, all responses are marked down for future reference.

Conclusion: Your responses that I pointed out could be better than that and prevent inconsistencies next time.

Best!

Nothing is wrong with the school. Don't blame your inability to secure your visa on choice of school. VOs approve people to go to Lincoln University and some other schools. Defend your case and pray well.

Remember we have two Lincoln university in USA. One is a public university and one is private university. Lincoln university California is private and is lowly ranked, about 1611 in ranking. Lincoln university Pennsylvania is public university and ranked better, about 146 in regional universities north.

Good afternoon guys.

Why don't you want to take SAT?

From your post, I think you can do well in the exam with sufficient study. These are some advantages of taking SAT:
1) Preparing for the exam makes you a better student.
2) It increases the number of schools you can apply to (most good schools don't waive it).
3) It enhances your chances of getting funding.
4) It increases your chances of getting Visa. VOs like guys that took tests, though it doesn't guarantee visa.

Some guys here took the test, you can contact them for materials and tips.

Contact the schools you want to apply to, some schools waive TOEFL for Nigerians.

Your choice.

Congratulations!!! I did mine too on the 19th of July in Abuja by a middle aged woman putting on ankara. A very nice woman I must add and was placed on administrative processing I hope the next time I open it I would read Issued so I can post my transcript/ thanksgiving.

Thank you.

You are right; I noticed most of the VOs that day were friendly and even gave people enough chance to express themselves. ...

Relax, your status will change to 'Issued' soonest.
