Unpaid salary as main reason PDP was voted out from Ekiti.
This suppose to serve as a note of warning
/noticed to governors to be workers friendly.

Since more than 10 years in Rivers state, teachers has not been promoted, the one done has not reflected in their salaries.

Those employed about five years ago has not been promoted at all, even their steps has not changed.

Those of us whom didn't received their February and March salary 2016 till now, the money has not been paid.

The interest free revolving loan its form was filled, no sign of it coming soon. General election is just only 7 months to go.

As matter of urgency, governor should give teachers double promotion, pay their February/ March 2016 unpaid salary. Give them interest free revolving loan he promised.

Anything done at late hours is considered by the educated working class citizens as fake. This include the late hours promotion, as was done in Ekiti state.

United state recently categorized vote buying with money during election as part of election rigging, (Ekiti state as a case study) educated citizens view it as fake.

Capital projects and human projects are both important, but the most important is human project or human development, which has positive impact in the economy life of the state and her citizens.

Our governor should hasten his feet, to address the workers challenges, most especially teachers who constitute upto half of state civil servants.

Together with their families, they has significant number/ voting strenght in the state more than any other state ministry or establishment.

They should command more attention.

Let's use this holiday period to ask for our unpaid Feb/March salary.. na we hold ourself o! If we enter radio this period go cry out. That money will be paid sharply. Now is injury time for politicians so Wike won't be happy to hear anything bout owing. He will pay quickly. After now nothing will happen. We will keep larmenting on this group n nobody kuku get our time as they are not members of this group.

Nigeria Union of Teachers
The Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) has hinted of its resolve to use members votes against governors that have failed to accord priority to teachers’.

Specifically, the Union noted that the forth coming 2019 election is going to be payback time especially for governors who were owning teachers and other workers and were seeking reelection.

NUT President, Comrade Micheal Olukoya, made the Union’s position known recently.

Speaking during an interview yesterday, Olukoya stated that the teachers were all waiting patiently to head to the election booth and exercise their revenge with their votes.

The NUT President had lamented on the situation in the nation where education was not given the priority it deserved and wondered how teachers who are being owed for months can give in their best in the classroom.

“All states that are owing workers or teachers the time for revenge and pay back is fast approaching. For the governors that are owning teachers or workers, if they don’t want to incur the wrath of teachers or workers, they better pay up now because this is a payback time as we approach, 2019,” he said.

Olukoya therefore urged to the states who are still owning their workers especially the teachers to pay up so as to encourage the them to teach the children which will in turn benefit the state as education is the bedrock of any society.

As at six months ago during the union’s 2018 annual gathering, it revealed that 13 states have not paid their teachers, some for as long as 28 months.

Though the numbers have reduced, it is believed that many teachers are still in the classroom, slaving in the class room not knowing when their salaries will be paid.

Other demands the union had made were the opposition of transfer of the funding and management of primary education to local government councils, need for upward review of teachers retirement age, activities of ASUSS and non remittance of check off dues to NUT and non-payment of pensions and gratuity to retired teachers.

vanguardngr.com Jul 27, 2018 8:00 PM

By Emmanuel Ujah
The three tiers of government, Friday shared the sum of N821 billion representing federation revenue for the month of June.

Children affected by poverty
The Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun, gave the figure while briefing the press at the end of the month’s Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) meeting in Abuja.

According to her, President Muhammadu Buhari has directed a new template for calculating oil revenue remittance by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

This she said, would permanently address the controversy over inadequate remmitances between the NNPC and state governments.

The breakdown showed that the federal government got N315 billion , while States and Local governments received N194. 5 billion and N147, 05 billion, respectively.

The oil producing states of the Niger Delta received additional N42.8 billion representing 13 per cent derivation.

On the new template, the minister said, that the draft would be out by next month and be sent to the states for their inputs.

She also said that henceforth, a pre-FAAC meeting would hold between the Federal Ministry of Finance and the NNPC to consider the figures availablw for remittance for the month before each FAAC.

The disagreements between the NNPC and the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) will soon be a thing of the past as President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the review of revenue reporting template.

The Minister of Finance, Mrs Kemi Adeosun conveyed the President’s directive on Friday while giving a breakdown on how N821.9 billion revenue generated in June was shared among the three tiers of government.

“As you are aware, in the last couple of FAAC meetings, the accounts presented by NNPC were not acceptable by the states and so, Mr President asked to be briefed on the issue.

“Based on that briefing, Mr President asked for further information to be provided by both the Ministry of Finance and the NNPC.

“Last Thursday, he held a meeting with me, the Chief of Staff, the Minister of State for Petroleum and the NNPC team.

“Mr President gave some certain directives; one which relates to FAAC is the need to revise the template.

“It was ascertained that the reporting template between the NNPC and FAAC was not providing the right level of assurance around the figures.

“It is for this reason that he has directed that a new template be generated jointly between the Ministry of Finance, the office of the Accountant-General, NNPC and RMAFC,” she said

Adeosun said Buhari also directed that henceforth, before FAAC meetings, a team from the Ministry of Finance and the NNPC should go through the figures and agree before presenting it to FAAC members.

Giving a breakdown of the allocation for the month of June, Adeosun said that after deductions for cost of collections, the Federal Government received N283.54 billion.

Adeosun said in accordance with the revenue sharing formula, the 36 states governments received N143.81 billion, while the Local Government Councils received an allocation of N110.87 billion.

In addition, she announced that N37.4 billion representing 13 per cent of the mineral revenue generated in the month of June was also shared among the oil producing states.

To this end, Adeosun said the nation generated N393.17 billion as mineral revenue and N294.17 billion as non-mineral revenue in February.

She said that in the spirit of saving for a rainy day, N100 billion was transfered to the Excess Crude Account, making the balance 2.27 billion dollars.

Meanwhile, the Chairman, Commissioners of Finance Forum, Mr Mahmoud Yunusa, said the state governments agreed with the decision of President Buhari to review the revenue reporting template of the NNPC.

He said that the Committee will closely monitor the development, to ensure that it achieves the desired effect.

Earlier, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) introduced the Accountability Index to the representatives of Federal, States and Local Government authorities.

The ICAN President, Mr Razaq Jaiyeola told FAAC members that the Accountability Index was an initiative of the Institute to ensure prudent management of public funds by the three tiers of government.

He said that the index will focus on policy based fiscal forecasting and budget, scrutiny and audit, budget credibility and management of assets and debts.

In summary, Jaiyeola said that the initiative will improve quality of governance in the country and tackle corruption in the public sector.

During 2015 election I will support your opinion that our governor Wike don't need our PVC, to rig himself into the office of governor, because he uses power from Abuja to do that.

The Abuja power is currently in the hands of APC, so therefore presently Governor Wike need our PVC, Nigeria election of today is the highest rigger, which include both power from federal, and PVC manipulation through INEC.

Peoples support also determine how far their rigging will go, protest is part of election. When there is high tension on anticipation of riot which might occur and lead into war from a particular state, as a result of massive protest from the supporter, the Federal government has no other option than to allow the state be, and give peace a chance.

A case study of Kano state in 2003, Then incumbent Governor Kwankwazo of PDP party which control both state and federal, lose to Shakaru of ANPP ( with massive supporters from people). Anambra 2010, prof. Charles Soludo from PDP party that control the center then, who finished his tenure as CBN governor, lose to the incumbent governor Mr. Peter Obi of APGA ( who has more support from the masses). These and many others show the strength of the masses support.

If the workers are totally against a governor, and show their rejection to his government, it's a plus to the opponent whose party control the center. A case study of Anambra 2003, between the incumbent Governor Mbadinauju who was not workers friendly, whose his style of leadership forces the secondary schools to close down for complete 1 year, due to teachers strike. This make the masses to reject him, and he losses his second term bid.

In summary governor Wike need workers support, as for now, he is not workers friendly, and many workers are prepared to work to his advantage.

He should act fast, with double promotion, implementation of the promotion, with fast processing of interest free revolving loan to the civil servant, to stand a chance of winning 2019 election.

As for federal, Mr president will lose his seat if he contest.

It is the federal government that sets minimum wage for the entire country then state can determine wethwr they can pay same or something lesser than that, how can Lagos state set a minimum wage while federal has not? You want to tell me the Lagos state government love civil servants so much more than federal ? There are many things to consider before a state can set her own minimum wage when the federal government has not approved a national minimum wage... All of you posting sensational jargons should desist from this.

It's a pity that some people don't know what is called minimum wage. It's simply a bench mark to which no establishment especially public can pay below it but can pay as higher as dey wish based on their income and revenue. Currently Edo state minimum wage stands at 25k which was raised by former Governor Oshiomole. Whereas current National minimum wage is 18k.

My dear all states are constitutionally forbiden to pay lesser than the minimum wage once it's set and passed as a law by the federal govt but are allowed to set their own wage even up to a million naira if they so wishes. Note, states MUST NOT, I repeat, MUST NOT pay below the minimum amount set by the federal Govt but has the freedom to pay above it. Thats why the term MINIMUM WAGE and not MAXIMUM WAGE.

we have just about 270 Senior Secondary Schools and more than 270 Junior Secondary Schools, but lets just say 270, =540. I believe we have more Primary schools than Junior Secondary Schools .....say 300. 540+300= 840

.. so its basically supposed to be 1 teacher per school, with some schools having 2 teachers.
