....."the fish and water are best friend yet it is water that cook fish"

I have not been following keenly for a while now but here I am. I admit plainly that you have indeed step up your game.

Some came with a bang, continue with a bang and end with a bang....other came with a bang and fade woefully as time pass on making the audience extremely bored and lost interest completely..other came within what looks like this an uninteresting story but clicked into gear as time progress holding the audience to ransoms.

You belong to the third category!

Now this is what I am talking about...it was not rushed..it flows,it click,it is natural..
Should I say badohemmy has arrived?
Certain not...not yet.

But at the rate in which you improve geometrically, I can say in absolute certainty that it is just a matter of time probably in your next story before you become a recognized giant sought after by many. Only a lack of inspiration will stop you.

A certain Bibi294 capable of changing her facial look with make up took the same path way.

You have my undivided attention henceforth.

Chapter 48

The Book Of Revelation

Ken tried to be a good friend. He was not the type of guy who kept a lot of them but the only blemish was that he had a secret life. His meeting Badoh was arranged. Right from the first day they met, he was meant to be on a job. His task was simple - meet Nnabundoh, get close and report back. When he started it was quite easy because there wasn't much to report. Badoh was relatively quiet and had a life that can be categorised as boring.
However, since the current semester, things seemed different, he had soiled his wild oats, been in a fight and clashed with cultists. Suddenly there was a lot of things to report.
Kennedy hid his true identity from Badoh, with each passing day it became more difficult to reveal his true self. But that very day he knew he had little choice because if eyes were gun Badoh would have shot him dead. He was forced to reveal the the things he knew.
He told Badoh that he was not a Jew as he made him and the rest believe. He was a member of the Black People's cult. This revelation shocked Badoh to the bone. Although he always felt there was something different about Ken but he always brushed it off. Being in a cult was however the least of Ken's revelation.
Ken's father was a driver before he died years ago, this meant that Ken learnt how to drive even at the age of 12 years. One day, Mosenge, an older friend of Ken who belonged to the same school of thought told him to drive them to a mission in Ibusa, a town 10km away from Asaba. Ken did not have the full details of the mission but considering that his mother had turned a drunk ever since they lost their dad and he had learnt to fend for himself and his two younger siblings, he took the job with no questions asked. His mindset was that it would involve going to bruise opposing group members but he was wrong.
On the day of the mission, Ken arrived their take off location and discovered that Mosenge and the 3 other guys had guns. He wanted to protest but decided to get it over with. He took the wheels as they hopped in and zoomed off. Mosenge and himself were blended on the same day but Mosenge was more highly placed than himself, the guy was notorious for starting fights with rival groups and even arranged for his own brother to be beaten to pulp simply because he questioned him. He rose among the ranks and file faster than most because he had money to spend, pretty soon many members were looking up to him.
So on that D-day, Ken drove them to Nkpanyala street on request, he parked opposite Nkpanyala community Town Hall which was adjacent to Umejei community Bank. Mosenge instructed him to keep the car engine running which he did. He monitored their movement from the car side mirror, that was when he realized that he was drowning in deep shit. He saw Mosenge and his 3 man crew enter into the Bank, that was the moment he realised that the mission was not a fight but a bank robbery.
To an extent, the mission was successful until the police van showed up. Everything went south and downhill from there. Damn he thought. Somehow they wrung tteir way out of there but not without losing Mosenge who sat back exchanging bullets with the cops. He did enough to help his rob mates get into their getaway car as they waited for him to join them. As he ran towards their car, he was hit several times at the back, they watched Mosenge fall to his knees and collapse to the ground and as it is said, kill the shepherd and the sheep will scatter.
Ken drove off as fast as he could his heart pumping blood quicker than a sumo, he beat the policemen in speed and talent even if it was just a moment. When they got to the express road, they met a checkpoint mounted by the Nigerian Army, the sight of the men in camouflage sent chills into their spine as Ken stepped on his brakes. The screeching sounds jolted the military officials as the car stood standstill face to face with the military personnel, silence enveloped them until Fabulous, one of Ken's crew screamed at Ken to do something. He froze unable to move.
As a soldier approached them with his A.K 47 riffle by his side, out of fear Fabulous jumped out of the car as he made to run, that was when the officer opened fire on him. The sound of the gun awakened Ken who put the car in reverse swiftly as he drove back to the direction from which they came. The few persons on the road jumped out of fear as people ran for safety. Ken meanwhile kept pressing the throttle of the golf car till he got to Federal Government Girls College before swerving to the gate and hitting the brakes at the same time. Immediately he hit the gear and put it in gear 2 as he drove fast past St Thomas Catholic Church connecting to Umejei Road. As soon as he hit the main road he swerved towards Ogwashi Uku. That was how they escaped temporarily. They abandoned their car and went their separate ways all man on his own.
The 15 years old Ken knew better than going back home. He went to his grandmother's house in Achala village. The news of the foiled robbery was all over the town. The extra news was that one of the robbers was taken to General Hospital Ibusa where he had serious gun shot wound to his legs. While in custody of the Military, Fabulous confessed thereby revealing the identity of Ken and the two other accomplices. They were apprehended that night, while Ken was caught days later in Achalla.
He spent over a year in Ogwashi-Uku prison awaiting trial before he met someone who changed his life for good. GentleLion was incarcerated briefly in Ogwashi-Uku prison when he met the kid Ken. While in Karacuta republic, Gentlelion protected Ken until his remand order was upturned upon appeal. Before leaving the prison he promised to get Ken out. While there wasn't much to be hopeful about, few months later Ken was released on probation due to the fact that he was a minor. How Gentlelion did it eluded him, all he knew was that he was free and was indebted to the man he knew very little about. He was helped with money, as well as support academically. The man helped him register in a Special Centre in Abavo where he sat for his SSCE exams and passed.
Ken knew he was so much indebted to Gentlelion and could not say no when he was asked to monitor Badoh in exchange for his tertiary level sponsorship. That was how his meeting with Badoh was arranged on the day he came to buy Post-UTME form in school. Since that day he had consistently fed Gentlelion information on Badoh. While he did not like what he did, the feeling was that there was nothing he would do that would sufficiently pay back his benefactor.
When Badoh heard Ken's story, he felt disappointed. He could not believe that his bestie was working with someone else behind him. This clearly shows that if Joseph could be sold by his brothers for a few shillings then friends would do worse for a cup of tea.
When Badoh left Ken in the room he felt ashamed of himself as he buried his face six feet deep inside his hands. Tears poured from his eyes as he reminisced about his life so far. Not long ago, he didn't believe he would go to school. But here he was in school except now he is paying his school fees by snitching on his friend.
As Efe burst into the room, he raised his head to look at him, his eyes red. Efe put his hand across his shoulder while he sobbed silently. Where do they go from here? He wondered as he sobbed some more.
