Guys on AP,

Once it more than 5 working days and your case hasn't been updated, I'll advise you contact your bank immediately.

I contacted my bank on the 6th working day for inquiry only to find out that the confirmation mail has been sent to them 3 days earlier and no one attended to it

They replied on Friday - Aug 3 and my status changed to issued today

Do you have the idea of the message content?
Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 13 by Differentials1: 12:25am On Aug 09, 2018
The receipt is usually available for you to print from your SEVIS profile or status the VERY moment the payment is made and has gone through. So Yes you can have the receipt printed before 7 am Nigerian time. However, the visa officer might not be able to verify if or not you have paid online as it take about 24 to 48hours for it to be activated online. But I am sure once he / she sees your receipt, it would be jst fine.
fabyom:
Please house if I pay for my SEVIS today can I obtain the receipt before my interview 7a.m tommorrow morning. The person paying for me will pay around 6p.m american time i.e 11 p.m- 12p.m Nigerian time

Hello everyone.
Please my wife who just arrived US walked into a bank today to try if she could pay for my Sevis fee since she has some cash with her, then the black man who attended to her gently whispered in her ears "GENTLY WALK OUT OF HERE, WHAT YOU ARE DOING IS ILLEGAL"
And with the fear in her she went and missed her way back to the hostel, in fact she roam for over 3 hours.
Please why can't she make the payment?
Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 13 by Differentials1: 12:35am On Aug 09, 2018
She doesn't have a US ID yet to make bank transactions. I know she can open a US bank account with her international passport but I am not sure if she would be able to send money with same. However, the fastest way of paying SEVIS fee is via western union and NOT going into a bank and I suppose her Nigerian Passport can suffice for an ID because they would still ask her for an ID at the western union shop.

Not everyone understands what SEVIS fee is here. I suppose the black man didn't know what she wanted to pay for. Even at that, bank was a wrong move. There's nothing illegal in it. Even some western union shops or agents don't know what SEVIS fee is as it's not a common or an everyday transaction they see.I hope this helps.

they started early last year at Abuja embassy while it kicked off on 11th December last year at the Lagos consulate. although chances of being under AP is more in Abuja compared to Lagos.

I’m very sure the black guy doesn’t know the meaning of sevis, and again Sevis is not to be paid at the bank, tell her to locate the nearest western union office she can easily pay if from there with her international passport as means of ID.

I know they verify bank statements, but I’ve never heard of bank sending mail to embassy and vise versa

Lol . This reminds on my first time making a sevis fee payment. The WU guy said it was a scam, even after showing him my documents and ID. I had to go to another WU outlet to make the payment.

they do scan and send it to the banks HQ to verify and the bank revert back to the embassy. it's a very confidential process but it's good for the system

The black dude must be drunk or high on something. If she's legal and has address, she can pay your sevis for you anywhere in US. She should go to those small businesses doing western union and send money to international countries. Case: Closed

hey, the best way to find out if they offer funding or not is to mail the coordinator of the program you are applying to and enquire from them. they are the one in best position to tell you the truth, you might not get answers here on nairaland.

when i was applying to alcorn for mba, i couldn't see any funding information on their website and i had to inquire from the director of MBA and he made it clear that their is no G.A at the school of business,, i had to checkout another school. mail the coordinator of your program and ask questions. otherwise, you may be waiting in vain

Please when is the best time to send the school this mail, is it after getting I-20 or before finalizing application. Please can I send you a mail,

Gosh what a horrible person she met at the bank. Maybe he didn't hear or understand her , even with that what gives him the right to say such rubbish . Some people associate western union with internet scam but the bank guy is still an idiot

Sevis is paid in western union centres not in a bank. Let her go online to west union and put her zip code to find which is closest to her hotel .

Morning fam! A quick one.
My Aunt helped pay for my SEVIS fee yesterday and sent me the cheque. On visiting the fmjfee site for confirmation, it was clearly stated that there was no confirmed payment yet.
My question is, how long does it take and moreover is there any expedited action I can take as my visa interview is in 2day's time.
A kind reply would do.

Not trying to sound discriminatory, rate of refusal is high among female VOs than Male VOs. This is based on the transcripts have read here

I had my first hand experience at the embassy this morning and it was terrible. Denials everywhere. Someone in front of me with full funding and good expression was denied.

The vo was just cutting me 10 seconds after each questions. No chance to express myself, no chance to prove why I chose my school, course, and my post graduate plans which I have prepared answers to. 57,600 gone just like that in 2 minutes.

Honestly, our leaders need to work on our universities and make them world class. The rate of humiliation at the embassy is so high that grown up people are seen crying out of the exit door.

Its well with everyone.
