neurosci: There was a time this was mention / promoted here as an option but what usually left out is what the future implication. And this is a very wise thought process to think not just about immediate but what happens in the future I personally don't know because I didn't use this or know anybody that did . I hope someone in nairaland who did can share their experience so we can be informed 1 Like |

Lagosismyhome pls check this out....pick out the flaws in itPls guys...I really need your opinion on this my mock transcript VO; Hello, good morning Me; Good morning, thank you Vo;passport and I20? (Passed) Vo; what is your intent? Me; Am going to st.cloud state uni for my undergraduate degree in computer engineering Vo; Why U.S and not your country? Me; Sir,the tertiary education in the U.S is top notch and regarded very high in every part of the world. I need the best possible education for my undergraduate degrees Vo; how did you hear about the school? Me; I saw it on the internet when I was looking up for good schools with small class size,it came up in the list and after my evaluation,I chose the sch and few other schs as well Vo; So.....why the course? Me; My fascination with this course has led me to realize that there is general lack of knowledge about the potentials of computer technology, and due to lack of solid implementation of computer skills,we experience technological failure all the time. So with this course,I will be equipped adequately with the knowledge required to improve efficiency in computer technology here in my country. This creative course will also give me brighter opportunities to work or partner with good companies like glo, mtn, etc Vo; Tell me about the course? Me; computer engineering is a branch of engineering that integrates several fields of computer science and electronic engineering required to develop computer hardwares and softwares. It is also a branch of engr that deals with almost every of our day-to-day engagements: the smartphones we use, elevators, computers, space travel, etc Vo; Did u take any standardized test? Me; yes....SAT,1030 Vo: who is your sponsor? Me: my uncle? Vo: what does he do? Me: He is a professional lawyer who owns a law firm. Beside that,he has acres of land in 2 different location that he leases out to commercial farmers and mini mall....they all generate him heavy income Vo: hmmmm......why your uncle and not your parents? Me: He is trying to pay back my parents for training him in college and making him who he is today. This also coincides with the fact that am his favorite nephew(smiles) Vo: What is your plan after graduation? Me: After my graduation,I will come back to my country, apply for job, hopefully i will get one easily because their is a very high demand for computer engrs. Our skill is really needed for the growth of the nation. Maybe i will also go to part-time lecturing 2 Likes |

Flaame: It has a good foundation so work on the delivery and prepare for a wide range of questions. Also how old are you and when did you finish secondary school ? |

neurosci:I won't be surprised if you are the only one with this scenario. First, most people who might have used this are typically masters students who might not to need to renew their visas before the completion of their programs. Secondly, this is quite dicy because no one can say for sure or not if this will be a problem. If I were you baring any emergency, I will stay put in the US till I finish my program and able to change status. You don't need a visa to be legal in the US as a student so far you have a valid i20 and your sevis is in status. |

alaga4040: From your transcript, the v.o helped you to know the reason you were refused. You chose schools in the same state your brother is staying who is also a US citizen, it means all your intent is to immigrate to USA using student visa. Also saying it was a coincidence is a lie because you were aware that your family members are in the state and applied only to schools in the same state. I don't think reapplying with same school will help, look for schools in other states and apply. I guess Austin peay state university gave you graduate assistantship, didn't see any mention of that on your transcript 1 Like 1 Share |

[quote author=YoungIncredible post=70121480]I had my first hand experience at the embassy this morning and it was terrible. Denials everywhere. Someone in front of me with full funding and good expression was denied. The vo was just cutting me 10 seconds after each questions. No chance to express myself, no chance to prove why I chose my school, course, and my post graduate plans which I have prepared answers to. 57,600 gone just like that in 2 minutes. Honestly, our leaders need to work on our universities and make them world class. The rate of humiliation at the embassy is so high that grown up people are seen crying out of the exit door. Its well with everyone. The denial yesterday was soo much that almost all the windows student's were coming out with blue papers...I guess coming back there is a means of making some funds for the embassy....jux my thought on that though 1 Like 1 Share |

Ubah1: Thank you for your reply. I've told my brother severally to allow me choose a school in other states but he refused. he is still insisting that i choose a school in Tennessee. he said i should defer the admission to spring semester and apply for the visa again APSU actually didn't give me GA. Please what can i include in my transcript when i'm reapplying? |
Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 13 by Ubah1(m): 8:37am On Aug 10, 2018 |
alaga4040: Your brother is not the person that will approve your visa. You can get visa with other schools and transfer to schools in Tennessee when you get to USA. Better you play safe than allowing your brother dictate for you. I won't advise reapplying without any tangible change as your case is obvious you are immigrating using student visa 1 Like |

V.o: cut him and next was blue paper. Reason. It was written that he has no ties in Nigeria 241b or smtn. But he was not asked any question along that line. His school will resume on the 13 October. segunjames82: While I'm not a lawyer or expert in cases like this, I just wanna give you my 2 cents. This may be a very unpopular opinion but hey, it's just an advise, so feel free to ignore it. The law is not a black or white thing. This is why for cases you're not sure of, the advise is primarily to consult a lawyer. You'd be surprised how easy it is to get through situations that look super complex to the ordinary eye. That being said, IMO, there is absolutely NO beyond-reasonable-doubt proof that your sister or her husband lied to the VO during their first visa interview. It's not like they have proof of a conversation they had to support a preconceived plan to do the above. People change their minds all the time. People come here just to visit for a week, meet a girl with asss so fat, decide they're not going home again, marry the girl and apply for GC, say their plans changed after they got here. Oga mi Sir, they get their GC. In your case, maybe your sister and her husband honestly had no intention of having their baby here or visit the doctor. Suppose I were in her shoes, and I woke up one day with blood coming out of me, you think I will risk my life and die because I told one VO that I won't be seeing Doctor? No sir, I will call 911 if needed and get the best treatment and that's not a crime. This case is not as impossible as it looks, and also you didn't tell the whole story. If they paid all bills out of pocket or whatever the case is, tell them to take all relevant documents along on their next visit to the embassy. He also has to state clearly that "No Sir, we didn't misinform the previous VO. Things happened that way because..." If the matter pass you, your sister abi her husband, consult immigration lawyer. Better one o, not 200 Naira lawyers under bridge in Ikeja. But if I were you, I'd handle this myself sha. It's not a big deal. Disclaimer: This is not legal advice. Please consult a lawyer for legal matters. 5 Likes 2 Shares |

Ubah1: Haba! Fear God. Which kind logic is this na? How can you know for certain what someone's intent is? It's not as clear cut as it looks Sir. For what it's worth, he could get admitted into CA and still find his way to TN or wherever else if intent is to immigrate. All the VO had was a suspicion, it was the applicant's job to clear that suspicion and he probably did a bad job at it. I read the transcript, he needs to do a better job. His brother's life decisions doesn't ban him from ever staying in TN. It'd raise red flags, that's all. It's his duty to explain those red flags. Saying it's a coincidence though is a weak defense. |

Visa approved this morning at Lagos consulate. The way V.Os were dishing out blue paper eh I got scared to a point had to run to the toilet. Will post my transcript later. neurosci: Don't do it!!! Unless the situation is absolutely terrible and that's the only option available to you. You don't wanna use small issues to mess up the big picture lol. If you're facing financial hardship, Oga... rough am jorr. No do omo mummy. You don't wanna give them yeye ideas when it's time to go big! I'm not saying you can't get authorization to work full-time due to economic hardship and still renew your visa or get GC later o, I'm saying it makes no sense to plant that seed in their heads later. It's good to know you're proactive, and foreseeing potential issues. Some odes will just go ahead and use short term benefit to damage future potential. Remain smart. 5 Likes |

Ubah1: Lol, don't mind them. Naija people have used the "Na student package sure pass" to spoil everything. You'll see unqualified, undercooked, people posing as students trying to outsmart VOs, that's making them scrutinize students like kilode. Smh. Everybody always shouting "them no dey check account jare" and doing stupid things to abuse the system. Now see the result. Back in the day, you'd hardly hear of Administrative processing in transcripts. Some Naija people can abuse everything. 2 Likes |
