Oga mi, e better to dey prepare now. Lemme say the ones that I know now
1. GRE: 50k + TOEFL: 45k both BY Mafit ==> 90k
2. Average of $60 to 5 schools: $300 ==> 108k
3. $205 ==> 74k (There are quite a number of schools that don't require WES)
4. 57,600 * 3 ==> 173k

1. Contact "ponpon". Search for the name as typed on the search bar or look up his previous posts. His rates are cheaper than BY MAFITs.

2. Keep ~ $400

3. I always advise people to bone such schools as the stress is never worth it. But $212.

4. N57, 300 × 3

5. $200-205

6. Free

7. $500-1500 depending on how far off the actual time of travelling you purchase it.

8. Depends on school/state but your TA/GA/RA barely kicks into effect until you actually start and even then your paycheck comes in after the first 2 weeks of working and after every 2 working weeks subsequently. So except someone accommodates you for free till you find your footing, I'd say have ~ $1000+

I want to thank everybody on the forum - the founding fathers, the gurus who took up the mantle...everybody. I have been a silent reader since last year. I took the GRE exam on Friday. Although it has been mentioned so many times here, but there is nothing that can actually prepare one for how tough that exam is. Infact, apart from using materials like NOVA, Manhattan to have the knowledge of the basics, i think one should not even bother with them. In terms of how tough the exam was, only few materials like Magoosh, ETS big book(RC) have similarities. The first Verbal and Quant section were 'bitter', very very bitter and downright evil to set an exam as tough as that. The next Verbal was easy, so much so that I was suspicious...then the last Verbal section was medium regarding how tough it was. All in all the sequence was VQVQV.
My unofficial scores are Verbal - 161 and Quants - 155. I got distracted a few weeks to the exam due to having confirmation of Canadian permanent residency because there were some series of full tests (Princeton) that I was getting better scores. Nevertheless, I will take the score and be grateful to God and man for the help rendered.

Undergraduate - Biochemistry 3.38/4 (WES CANADA)
Graduate - Industrial Chemistry 3.62/4 (WES CANADA)
No publications, research experience restricted to thesis for the above degrees. Was able to send scores to the following quartet -

PhD Polymer Chemistry - University of Victoria,
PhD Engineering Chemistry - University of British Columbia
PhD Polymer Chemistry - University of British Columbia - Okanagan
PhD Engineering Chemistry - University of Alberta

I'll suggest you tell people how you prepared for the verbal cos most people have issues with the verbal. You did just fine. All the best in your application process...

Please, did the questions go outside the regular scheme or did they touched on other topics that is not included in Manhattan 5lb

They were tougher than what is in the Manhattan 8-book series. Only Magoosh's Quants and verbal sections were comparable. Never had issues with TC and SE, so was always using ETS Big Book RC compilation with timing to improve RCs - it worked like magic, those practice questions were of the same level as the real test itself.

Cheers.

4. Visa application assuming you get interviewed 3 times max.: 64k for each application
5. SEVIS fee : not sure how much
6. 1-20... I think only statement of account is needed
7. Flight ticket.: around400k depending on airline.
8. Amount you are to have assuming you are fully funded with a T.A or G.A: different range.

cheers

@Wetherbell. Due to popular demand, I think you should upload the Magoosh materials on Google drive or Dropbox so people will stop spamming this thread with emails.
