hmmm your analysis tho *thinking* America's debt does not exist in the real world Tell me about it The thing that troubles many of these emerging countries is that the C component in the four sector economic model is not as strong as it supposed to be (like say in Western Europe or North America) That is why they are always jittery when the US makes some moves That's my thought any ways Boosting the C component will reduce America's (demand pull) influence really on your economy [/quote Dollar is like a commodity A commodity is an item that an be xchange for a value In the past most nations of the world domiciled their foreign reserves in gold All commodities in the world retain their values in $ Which is backed by their trust n faith in the US Now, take for instance, the crude oil produced in Nigeria has no real value until its xchanged for the American $ The debt of US is only a theoretical one coz the $ replaced gold as the no 1 Reserve currency, therefore our country produces oil US produced $... Oil for $ Gold for $ Automobile for $ Technology for $ Agricultural exports for $ US print out the $ In xchanged for all US economy grows, once there is a control mechanism to restrict the spending of the $in US economy, spend it outside as offshore investments, recall the $ back n weaken all begging nations dt depends on US for foreign aid or grants U thought it was a coincidence that US v the highest billionaire in the world? Nope.. This is the agenda of putin, to challenge the $ in collaboration with the emerging economy The Americans are aware of dz 50 yrs ago and the counter measure was aggressive investment of $ in most economies of the world. By the time the $ are recall, the faith of Venezuela will be awaiting such nation that underate US I. e Zimbabwe, turkey BRICS alliance Nation... QED |

MSCI- NIGERIA MOVEMENT FOR 13 AUG 2018/GENERAL COMMENT MSCI Nigeria maintained a clean slate again for 13 August 2018. The critical point again will be last week in September when FOMC (in USA) will decide whether to raise rates or not. If rate is raised dollar may rise in value against other currencies. The good thing is that oil although slightly down, is not collapsing. This has been supporting our market. Market breadth is still negative. I am not interested in putting any money in the market this moment in time. I see no good opportunity yet. There is too much ark cloud hanging over the market. Using the fund’s portfolio as a guide, “green” mean buying while “red” is selling. Caution: This is for information purpose only. Data used are assumed to be correct. However, you may want to verify the data from an appropriate source. N:B Due to the fact so many new people are coming to this forum and may not know this use of following the “big monies that move markets”, I will be indicating why/how to use the information. This will be a permanent future of my post to reduce some comments which may prevent the people that understand the system from confusion by people who have not followed how this started. My comment for today for anybody who is doubting the efficacy of following the fund is to look at my recent recommendations for the past 2 months. 1 Like |

Mcy56:Most analysts on Nairaland focus mainly on the economics of wealth not on the politics of it. If the giant Leman brothers could collapsed under the watchful eyes of the republican, then Dangote is at risk if the. contagious global trade war infects t Nigeria as Turkey is already sweating We do not pray for the war to persists, The world should cooperate with the chief strategist n protectionist of America order. Jim ovia definitely knew the secret, when he mentioned in a recent BBC interview that Nigeria v witnessed worst economy environment and stil emerged stronger, The absolute truth now is that the world need US more than ever, cooperate with Trump n grow your economy, fight with Trump and contracts your economy. |

Godlylifeoneart:Dangote is not at risk of any collapse. The company is doing just fine. Its portfolio investors that are leaving, thereby reducing share price and making it even more attractive. Nigerian economy and companies in the exchange are not doing as bad as the drop in share prices might suggest. |

Godlylifeoneart:You are probably hyping this bear session unnecessarily. Lehman brothers is more into investment banking and is not necessarily compared with Dangote, which is into manufacturing etc. Lehman invested a lot into real estate in the US, dubai etc which eventually nosedived and led to bankruptcy. The truth is bear and bull session is a xteristics of the stock market anywhere in the world. So, lets endure and make good opportunity of the bear in anticipation of the bull. The kind of huge sell off going on in UBA in terms of volume with the way the price is nosediving looks like some people has seen the H1'2018 results and probably below expectation. I might be wrong though. Any opinion in the house. |

When I made mention of Agba using Jazz in addition to his FA/TA skills, we all laughed over it. He said 2nd week of August go bad, it's looking like it will be so. If only he can agree to share his talisman with me. Just for a year! |
