Frankrobbn1: This guy has extensive travel history, so he is not a clear case study for study gaps. Study gaps of 10 years usually beg the question that at such an age, is the applicant a genuine student or simply using the student permit as a way of entering Canada for other things other than studies and not leave when his stay has elapsed. I think this applicant clearly answered that question in the affirmative by his extensive travel history of having abided by the immigration law of numerous countries he visited. I know a few people with 10 years study gap who clearly showed progression in studies and still were denied. That tells you that it is not simply a question of academic progression, but one at the heart and soul of the genuiness of the applicant’s intention to study and depart. A person with 10 years study gap has to do significantly more to succeed than say someone with a 1 or 2 years study gap. All who have 10 years study gap do themselves significant good in concentrating in showing in their SOP or in other places, their devotion to learning and reason to beleive that if the privilege of a study permit is extended to them, they can be counted to study and excel and leave at the end of their studies. I think this person you referring to did all these in effective ways. His extensive travel history of having never contravened his purpose of visit to other countries, made his job earsier. 2 Likes |

When I see multiple invite from Nairaland, I know someone don cast something. Lol. How una Dey? As I have always plead, student applicant are advised to check express entry. Trust me, The benefits are more than lower school fees. For those going for masters without scholarship and would like to get a professional job afterwards, please volunteer and network well when schooling. Use your 20hrs/week off-campus permitted work to explore causal or part time professional employment in your field/desired organization. For those with scholarship, it is Kuku not your money. Otherwise, IMO, same advise apply. I am sorry to break the news, “man-know-man” dey Canada but they call it referral. All the best. 9 Likes 4 Shares |

Ensure you state that your application has spent X no of weeks with them, which is way beyond the normal processing time. Wish you the best |

The house I reside now is my personal building and I forgot to include the document in the application but It was used in the registered company as office address. About 2 people came to the house shortly when my status changed to "Background checks is in progress" to ask my wife questions. It shall ALL end in praise for those waiting IJN. Amen. Note that "Waiting time is not a wasting time" Pray and seek for God's favour in your waiting time!!! 3 Likes |

wiz3: It is not that unusual waiting six weeks after medical passed for approval and passport request to come. Yesterday someone I had been communications with from here was approved after 11 weeks since medical was requested and passed. Your chances of approval is great! Congratulations in advance. |

Biakwa: Different schools have different refund policies. Where you to be denied and request refund, expect to loose some of your money. Other schools give 100 percent refund, others charge you a fee for asking for refund. Ensure to acquaint yourself with your school refund policies. On the hand, if CIC approves your visa but school admission letter has expired, they will demand of you a new one. So just wait for that decision no need to disturb them at this time. If your current resumption has passed without you hearing from CIC, go ahead and defer to January and if CIC requests the new admission, you will have it ready to flash it to them. Good luck! |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by mightyola: 7:51am On Aug 15, 2018 |
Yea I got the mail. I will email them today, attaching a snapshot of my online profile and asking them for more time. I checked my online profile early this morning, still nothing, no update. I will mail CIC later this week. I have deferred my admission once, this will be the second time,so it has to be the last resort, as I intend to buy more time with the school. I also believe that lectures does not start till the 11th of Sept or so, that's me speaking of my program. Biakwa: |

Good morning house, i’m a newbie here and have gone through majority of the pages. I must confess you all are doing a great job. Please, I need an advice. I have my first degree in Microbiology and have 7 years experience working as technical consultant with NGO on immunizations. The thing about my organization is no matter the number of years you spend so far u’re not a Doctor/ Nurse in the health section you can never become a specialist. I want to be relevant in my field as I feel somehow inadequate hence my resolve to do a nursing degree of like 2 years. I’m considering Canada because of affordable tuition and the fact that some institutions give admission for after degree nursing to international students. Please my gurus in the house, do you think I can be approved? I asked because most of the pages have read seem to be on Masters program. Thanks you all for your kind response. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Mistamajesty: 8:26am On Aug 15, 2018 |

It depends on your resumption date. Write to your school to notify them of the development, and for an updated admission letter, or request for your admission to be deferred to another term. Then send a case specific enquiry to IRCC using the web form. |

shegxyt: What kind of people showed up at your address? Whites of blacks? Embassies are known to do such random physical checks. Recently I talked to a proprietor of a school who told me an embassy sent some men to come check the validity of transcripts submitted by an applicant. This is the first time I heard Canada does such physical checks. Please can you explain more what these people wanted from you? 2 Likes 1 Share |

shegxyt: If what you wrote above is true about CIC officials coming over to your house to physically inspect then these guys have a lot of time, resources (both human and financial) on their hands. No wonder application takes like 4 months to process. 2 Likes |

Hello guys. Just a little question. I was asked to go for my medicals last week which I did last Tuesday . Unfortunately when I log in my CIC account it doesn’t look like they’ve received it. Upon calling the hospital they said it’s been sent already. Moreover yesterday CIC sent me an email with nothing inside the mail. I don’t really know what to think as resumption is fast approaching & I still need to submit my passport for stamping when approved.
