Farm business...

Sorry for the late response. first make sure you have enough cash in your account(personal/company), then try to explain on your sop as much as you can that you run a company but yet to register it. Adding company's recept and rent papers will go a long way as well. Just try and add anything that shows the company exist and do the rest on your sop.

@jnyuwa @frankrobbn1 @mcobex and all other experienced gurus

Pls, I did upfront medicals and same has been updated as passed since last Wednesday and eligibility review commenced just immediately , but since then I haven’t heard anything . I thought eligibility review doesn’t take longer than 72 hours if upfront medicals have been updated.

Pls what could be wrong my Ogas

And pls, can I send them mail for update on my application as it has also passed the normal 9 weeks just yesterday at the time of submission of my application because my school resumes by September .

Pls advise me accordingly. Thank you all

goingforward , my good MALE friend , where are you
Eligibility can take as long as CIC wants, so don't be scared about the delay. But since your app has exceeded the processing time you are free to contact CIC, just send them a message stating you will like to know how far your app has gone since it has exceeded the processing time and school will resume soon(do it politely). You can send it to their Lagos office as people here said they respond faster than others(check previous pages for the email address). Best of luck

Hello everyone, Greetings to you all.

Please this is going to be my first time posting here.
Am 23 yrs old, graduated last year October B.sc Computer Science with a 4.79/5. Currently on NYSC, and would be through this year October.

I read the whole of part ten and currently reading from the beginning of this part 14.

I intend applying for a research based Masters in computer science with funding. After searching through the list of universities in Canada n their tuition fee for CSC.

I intend to apply to MUN, UBC, USASk and Queens university this September when admission application for fall 2019 begins.

However, MUN and Queens require contacting/getting a supervisor before applying.

My question is how do I go about this and when should I begin to contact them. And I hope my lack of work experience wouldn't be a disadvantage in getting funding?
I saw the links on "tips on contacting a supervisor" on the first page of every new part.
I have read it, and don't know if I just have to do what is written their alone, or if there r some other things I need to do.

Am just trying to be very careful and not make any mistakes. Your replies would be appreciated. Thanks.

Please any student from UBC, USASK , MUN or Queens university? Would also like to get in touch and ask for information regarding admission.

Thanks
Visit the CSC department page of each school you have in mind and look for the prof whose research interest is related or same as yours then email him and let him know you will like to be part of his team and tell him what you will be bringing to the team(sell yourself wella but don't be too desperate sha).
Also, you can start contacting them now as the earlier you do the better

I am happy for you but don't forget God you still need Him on your journey. Thanks to your Mum too

Naijaforeigner:
Let me start by thanking all the gurus of this great thread, you guys rock. Thank you so much jnyuwa02 and Frankrobbn1 and the guy that made that list on the first page, God bless you guys.
I make a special prayer for you today Jnyuwa02, as you have been a blessing to many People on here, God Almighty will perfect everything that concerns you in Jesus name (amen).

I started my journey late June and had to read close to 50 pages of this thread within a week.

I got all documents and applied July 10. My application to Canada was a last minute try. I had a 2:1 in business but the only school I could find as at late June was Fanshawe college and I picked PGC logistics and supply chain management (LSCM), got admission and paid first term fees.

Documents submitted - Paper Application - submitted July 10

All IMM forms

My personal statement of account - mum transferred over £16,000 in 3 tranches via an agent.

A sponsors letter from my mum - I actually wrote this letter for my mum ( I saw sample on the first page) and strongly emphasised how she has been the one who sent me to do BA in UK and paid for 4 years without owing. I made sure this letter was not more than a page and straight to the point.

- Letter of explanation (LOE) from me - I detailed the course I was going for, focused on how I have had a good record in the UK, no criminal convictions and always obeyed the rules. Also mentioned how I never missed classes for 4 years and completed my studies without any issue. I stressed on how I love challenges, stating how I moved from Nigeria to UK alone (culture change, new people et al) and how I would love to try a new challenge in Canada and try education over there and then concluded with, once I am done with the PGC LSCM in Canada, I would come back and take over my mums company. p.s my mum owns a company in Nigeria.

I wrote my LOE myself using the sample on the first page and then sent it to my brother who is a PHD holder to proof read for errors. I Told him I am satisfied with the content all I needed was proof reading for errors. If I remember correctly, I made sure my LOE was not more than 600 words.

- birth certificate, my passport page, mothers passport page, C of O of my mothers house, CAC documents for my mothers business, proof of payment of first term tuition fees, BA certificate, transcripts.

All these documents were photocopied and no original was collected at London Canada VFS office.

- no medicals (not needed for applicants in UK) and no Police certificate.

The things that scared me were;

(1) I forgot to explain the lump sum. I honestly cannot tell how I forgot to explain this after reading this word for word before submitting my documents.

(2) Difficult convincing the VO in my SOP why I would be leaving UK with a 2:1 with the option of doing masters here in UK in a university but decided to do PGC in Canada when the fees were almost the same? To make matters worse, the course is a very common course in UK in almost all Universities.
Infact, my application was screaming this guy wants to run away.

(3) I am a matured student - 31 years.

(4) I also forgot to show my USA visa (still valid till Dec 2019), Dubai stamped passport page.

After I submitted, I fasted day and night for at least 9 days. I have never fasted more than a day in UK in my 4 years of being here. This whole process taught me many things I will never forget.

Finally let me say this, on 10/08/18 (Last week Friday), I listened to a convention online by Pastor EA Adeboye and once he was done with his sermon, he asked everyone to stand up for prayers. Just before he asked people to pray, he paused and suddenly said
"the lord said there is someone here, that one breakthrough you need for your joy to be full, receive it. Something in me told me that word was for me, I jumped up, claimed it and kept on praying with it.

I sincerely pray for as many that are still hoping on God for their visas, your joy would also be full before this month runs out if you believe. this whole application is just Mercy of God. p.s I am not saying don't put in work, put in maximum work, put all documents and then pray.

Thank you to wheyme, galala123, lagos2canna, bismo, ezriela, mightyola, shizzleadedapo, bbclue and every other person. I am so grateful.

IELTS/TOEFL is not a prerequisite for granting TRV. If you think you have a good chance with those scjools, apply. I know quite a number of people that got admission (Full scholarship) and TRV without writing any exams.

GOODLUCK!!!

Anchillary101,

Canada study Visa is based predominantly on the four (4) following factors:
1) The applicant primary intention to study further after such a long period of time (study gaps applicants).
2) Is the applicant proposed program reasonable inlight with their current employment or previous studies and further represent a logical progressive step in their Career goals?
3) The applicant must certify the visa officer that they will return to their home country at the end of their authorized stay in Canada.
4-) Financial Sufficiency, ability to pay for their first year tuition and living expenses (the visa officers will also put into consideration the applicant/sponsor probability for future funding).

The visa officers are not after the applicant age, either they are after the applicant serious intention to study and the relevance of their chosen program with their career goal.

Cc: My advice to those applicants out there that have study gaps -------- is that you should try as much as possible to provide sufficient ties to your home country like: landed properties, investments, shares certificates, buildings rented to tenants, or business assets etc.. under your name, because this will go a long run to prove to the visa officer that you have achieved something tangible while in Nigeria and you're currently travelling to Canada in order to enhance your career prospects back home. Make sure your SOP is solid and airtight that will highlight your career progression between your current job role and previous studies. Let them know that you're not using study permit as means to facilitate relocation into Canada. Explain why you want to undertake your proposed program in Canada and not Nigeria and how its going to help you to achieve your career aspirations. What would be the final outcome?... What are the demand for that job in your home country? Is the pay scale financially rewarding that would offest the cost of your studies in Canada? Etc...

Furthermore, considering that you've been working (study gaps applicants) for a very long time, you should also provide a personal/salary bank statement in your name to evident that you've made substantial savings for yourself over the years while away from school. This will further convince the visa officer that you've a high paid job here in Nigeria and with another academic qualification (certificate) from Canada your pay scale in Nigeria will be great.

I rest my case!

Someone asked me privately an important question. I thought to share the response to the house so others can benefit. That is why we encourage people to ask their questions here on this forum so others can benefit:

Thanks for contacting me. Many people make the mistakes of thinking when delayed on insufficient funds and that is the only thing ticked on their forms, then the visa officer must have nothing else against them. So they refire, tackling only insufficient funds. Only to discover that having tackled insufficient funds, they are denied on other grounds.

This is because visa decision is a two pronged analysis and the first and foremost analysis is a determination of if you are able to fund your education without resorting to employment in Canada. After you have shown so, then the visa analysis must proceeds to a determination of other stuffs like your purpose of visit, your ties that will induce your return to your home country (assets and financial standing, family ties, job prospects in home country, etc).

So if you are denied on financial ground, on reapplying it is a mistake to just tackle only financial ground. Your previous application did not even cross the first prong of the visa analysis. So on reapplying it is imperative to bear that in mind and do all within your power to tackle not only financial ground, but proceed also in tackling the second prong of the visa analysis. Because after you meet the first prong, the visa officer must proceed in accessing the second prong of the visa analysis. You do yourself a lot of good to tackle everything on reapplying if delayed on financial grounds. Hope this is clear.

That said, on your questions about contacting a VO, those who have told you it’s a sign of desperation, don’t get it . Please feel free to contact CIC with any urgent concern after your processing time has elapsed. Processing time is measured as the average at the time you filed your application, not the average indicated at the time you are contacting CIC. In certain circumstances you can even contact CIC even before your processing time has elapsed. Those circumstances that have to do with the submission of additional documents or a change in personal circumstances like your address, change in name or marital status, the birth of a new child. The listing is not all exhaustive.

On the submission of a receipt you recently paid of your school fees, please don’t wait. Without further to do, please use the webform to send your receipt immediately. It’s a very important recent development. You can send to Lagos office because they tend to update the profile quicker there within a day. CIC web-forum in comparison, takes an average of 10 days. Lagos contact: lagos.immigration@international.gc.ca

It Shall End in Praise!!
