Forget this western ideology. Court in Africa is the government itself. If you beat them at it, they let go willingly. If they are bent to finish you, you will even go to jail afterwards.

When I hear people talk court when the government is involved, I laugh. The judiciary is a tool in there hands.

This is why touts with no visible assets end up in politics. Many buildings were sealed or in worst case scenario demolished because of political differences in many states in Nigeria. El Rufai did the same thing in Abuja. Politics in Nigeria must be approached with the spirit of a mafian to survive. This is what happens when those with little/no wisdom are put in position of power
Their only thought is how to better their own lives and continue to impoverish those that thinks of them as anything.
Apart from the case being in court, is it not d same Oyo state government that gave all necessary documents/permissions that were necessary for such a building to be erected.
You might be governor today, but u can't be one forever. Despite all troubles that befell Ayefele in his lifetime, he bounced back powerfully and the only way the `pegunrun` of Oyo state will compensate him is by taking all his sweat away from him....just like that.
One of the biggest mistake Oyo state has ever made is the re election of Ajimobi for a fruitless 2nd term in office.

Ayefele will definitely bounce back (and even powerfully better) but....Ajimobi will loose his political ambition and go to oblivion in the political arena of Oyo state.... his shame is very much around d corner, even Ayefele will pity him.

Court or no Court the Governor has the prerogative & last say,once the land is required for overriding pubic purposes,the certificate of occupancy can be revoked without question by the Governor and compensation paid in accordance with the provisions of The Land Use Act 1978 by recommendation from the land use allocation committee.

Many youths here are just being unnecessarily emotional without being realistic & objective.

Firstly, Ayefele has many properties in Ibadan. As at 2010, I know three of his properties (one hotel & two residential buildings). These buildings are not located where they could be destroyed, hence intact.

Secondly, during Also Akala's tenure, houses were destroyed. A particular woman claimed Akala victimized her for political reason when her residence was destroyed. I don't believe her,

Thirdly, in demolition exercise, a building cannot be singled out for demolition. Are there houses beside Ayefele's office that is not affected by the demolition? Was the house marked for demolition about 8 or 9 years ago? Was there any government approval for the house to be built on that place?

The lesson here. you cannot be begging government secretly to overlook or waive legal & developmental requirements for you and still go to the media to seek support against government on the same issue.

Finally, on the salient issue somebody raised, Kolawole Olawuyi is not alive, Gbenga Adeboye is not alive, erelu agbaye is nowhere to be found, baba woli (Olowere & others) are elders not available for frivolous issue. Only God knows the best.
