A brilliant game by the girls, despite the loss. It was inevitable from the whole set up. Even if they equalized, the ref would have found a way back for Spain. The future is bright with these girls. Female football with FIFA is still like a cult though. I can predict the winner of each match. Europeans more favoured, then Asians, then America, and then maybe blacks. It got so bad today, some of the crowd were booing the obvious wrong calls the referee made. |

olapluto:This NFF does not care about women's football. In 2014 we were robbed in front of the world they refused to even make a statement condemning the theft. They instead tell the girls it was their fault for being strong. I watched Ajibade say white players were better because they rely on talent while black people rely on physicality with her coach standing next to her. |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Duru1(m): 9:58pm On Aug 16, 2018 |
BascoVanVeli:Is the dumbass coach related to #11? What actually did the #11 gave up to warrant the dropping of Ijamilusi? The #11 cannot even control a ball pass to her. Ajibade should be dropped to full back where she will not think of being a heroine. |

Duru1:You see what I said? She was one of the poorest today and he refused to take her out. The coach is 80 percent of the reason why we lost. It's almost like he wanted us eliminated. |

BascoVanVeli:The leadership constitutes the failure in Nigeria. Whoever appointed this douche bag a head couch of U20 while a couch such as Dedevo is remotely seated in corner of Nigeria beats my imagination. These girls could rule the world of U20 female soccer game if given the proper and adequate care. |

Duru1:The NFF has been very poor with female football. Any quack can coach our women as long as the NFF get to save some money. |

Even the coach of the Falcons is not it. He may bring some organisation to the team, but going forward, we will be crap. |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by PDPGuy: 4:42am On Aug 17, 2018 |
olapluto:I doubt whether the Rita Chikwelu I saw at the 2016 AWCON has anything positive to offer the team at the World Cup. It pains me to say this, but our ‘star’ players, with the possible exception of an Oshoala, Ngozi Okobi or Oparanozie, only shine against African opposition. And most (99.5%) of African teams are merely “kick and follow” teams; they have almost no football IQ. Thus, when our teams face slightly better non-Africans teams who have a much higher football IQ, our players then look bang average, at best. |

PDPGuy:True talk, l also think the female league is deteriorating in terms of the number of quality players they produce these days. |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Schemerkhiz: 1:59pm On Aug 18, 2018 |
PDPGuy:you are wrong to doubt Rita Chikwelu qualities with the ball. Naturally Rita Chikwelu is an attacking minded player but due to her versatility and experience she is able to play as a holding midfielder. Go and check her club ( Kristianstand DFF, SWEDEN ) line up, she is their main threat in the attacking midfield, she sometimes play as a striker from the right wing. |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Daejoyoung: 4:31pm On Aug 18, 2018 |
Schemerkhiz:She's good but then age might be a good factor to consider in terms of her speed. Club football in the female world is different from that of the male, it is not as developed as that of national teams like we have in the male game. For example the top Swedish clubs cannot be compared to the Swedish team. But we all know Barcelona and Real Madrid have almost thesame standard ( or even greater) as Spain in the male game. |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by olapluto(m): 4:52pm On Aug 18, 2018 |
Schemerkhiz:Thats not entirely correct. She plays more as a central midfielder (Xhaka type), than an attacking midfielder. Also, I think the Swedish league is deteriorating. I watch the games weekly when chanced, and the quality is not it. For now, the German and French leagues are top. If we are to develop female football, we need to invest more in our league. Facilities are quite poor, with most teams playing on artificial turf. Also, we need to have an African Champions league for women. If Africa is slow, then Nigeria needs to enter competitions and friendlies like the She-believe cup. We are going backwards with the current NFF. The team that won women AFCON 2 years ago had to riot to get some of their money. Mr Amaju Pinnick is a 419 and pretender. He is not interested in football development. During his reign, we have failed in U17, U20s and Olympics both men and women. He only fronts with the Super Eagles. Even the Super eagles won only one match at the world cup. Every other team is suffering badly. Chris Danjuma should never supposed to coach the girls. Peter Dedevbo should have been made coach of Falconets, while I see no reason to employ Dennerby for the Falcons. Dennerby will marginally improve the team organisation, and that will be it. Swedes are generally laid back people. You should not expect Nigeria to match up against any European teams with Dennerby in charge. |

Daejoyoung:We have more than enough players to replace Rita Chikwelu and other aging players. We have been producing good players since 2012 U20 world cup. Women football is now fast paced, and we cant afford to be slow. We saw how France dismantled us in that friendly with their B team. |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Daejoyoung: 5:53pm On Aug 18, 2018 |
olapluto:lt wasn't their B team at all. They just missed a few players. |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Schemerkhiz: 6:54pm On Aug 18, 2018 |
olapluto:currently the superfalcon midfield is very much loaded with good players... Chikwelu, Okobi, Ayinde, Igbinovia, Okoronkwo... Then bring in few others. I believe as soon as Rita chikwelu hand up her boots, Okobi will surely take up the No 10 Shirt..cus she is the best for that Number. |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Schemerkhiz: 6:56pm On Aug 18, 2018 |
No coach will currently bench Chikwelu in the superfalcon Team.. she is still a good passer, full of energy and experience but the pace may no longer be there... |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by BascoVanVeli(m): 12:27am On Aug 19, 2018 |
Schemerkhiz:I would have her maybe as the first midfielder to come off the bench, I would rather go with Evelyn Nwabouku, Halimat Ayinde and Ngozi Okobi. They played in the world cup together and offer each other balance. Evelyn can sit back while Ayinde marks and Okobi creates. |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Schemerkhiz: 6:17pm On Aug 19, 2018 |
BascoVanVeli:Age is no longer on Evelyn Nwabuoku side, she would be 33yrs old by November though she is still very much active, but I still wonder why she haven't impressed the coaches yet! Evelyn Nwabuoku sits in front of the back 4 and break things up. She does the nasty work that people don't really want to do. she is an aggressive player, very fit and physical and she likes to break up play.

| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by BascoVanVeli(m): 6:28pm On Aug 19, 2018 |
Schemerkhiz:I know she is no spring chicken but I don't see a replacement in sight. If you watch the last AFCON you will see that our DMF had no discipline and the midfield was breaking down time and again. The problem is that I don't see a player in her mold so the coach will have to come around playing her. |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Schemerkhiz: 6:29pm On Aug 19, 2018 |
we so much have the players that can deliver in the midfield positions.
1. Rita Chikwelu
2. Ngozi Okobi
3. Halimatu Ayinde
4. Evelyn Nwabuoku
5. Osarenoma Igbinovia
6. Amarachi Okoronkwo.
young stars like Christy Ucheibe can also come in... |

USA based striker Chioma Ubogagu have also indicated her interest in playing for the Superfalcons, I hope the coaches gives her a chance. the 25yrs old striker plays for Orlando pride alongside Marta and Alves of Brazil, Alex Morgan, Sydney Lyroux, Ali Kreiger of the US...

Schemerkhiz:Yah, Christy Ucheibe and Peace Efih can be tried in those defensive midfield roles too |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by BascoVanVeli(m): 8:45pm On Aug 19, 2018 |
Daejoyoung:Efih is more an AMF and Christy is more box to box. |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Duru1(m): 9:40pm On Aug 19, 2018 |
Schemerkhiz:The worst Nigerian female footballer and captain of a side I have ever watched. |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Duru1(m): 9:46pm On Aug 19, 2018 |
Schemerkhiz:The bolded should be dropped. Ucheibe, Efih, Ijamilusi and Igboamalu should be called up. Also the Falcon defense should be revamped with players such as C. Okeke. Glory Ogbonna and Opayemi Sunday |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by BascoVanVeli(m): 9:53pm On Aug 19, 2018 |
Duru1:We are talking about DMF it is not like Nwabuoku is lacking for pace in that position. Our problem is that there is no DMF in sight. Maybe we can convert Okobi. |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Daejoyoung: 4:42am On Aug 20, 2018 |
BascoVanVeli:lgbinovia we convert her instead, okobi is too valuable in AM to be converted to a DMF. |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Schemerkhiz: 8:16am On Aug 20, 2018 |
BascoVanVeli:Never, Ngozi Okobi is the best we have in our Attacking midfield position, she distribute the ball better than any other player in the team although she has played as a defensive midfielder some time during her U20 days.. |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Schemerkhiz: 8:19am On Aug 20, 2018 |
Daejoyoung:Igbinovia should be the appropriate option for the defensive midfield role, she played that role at the U20 Women World Cup in 2014. Even at her clubside she is been deployed as a no4 or 10. |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Schemerkhiz: 8:25am On Aug 20, 2018 |
Duru1:chidinma Okeke is naturally a striker, she should be reverted back to her position best instead and she can't displace the likes of Josephine Chukwunonye, joy jegede who are been benched for veteran Onome Ebi... ......if it's Osinachi Ohale that is a no go area. As for Glory Ogbonna and Opeyemi Sunday they are not up to the Class of Ngozi Ebere and Ugo Njoku yet. if Glory is that good she won't sit on the bench for joy Duru during the U20 world cup. |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by BascoVanVeli(m): 2:21pm On Aug 20, 2018 |
Schemerkhiz:That's the point we don't have players in that position. She can be like Pirlo creating from deep. We need her there because of her holding skills and passing. That way we can have 2 box to box players on the pitch with her to do the dirty work. Like Pogba and Vidal did for Juventus. |
