TOEFL = 76

GRE = 280

Please can this result get scholarship for an engineering course?

Please house, is it possible to adjust ur old form and submit it for the second interview?

I'm assuming you mean your DS-160 form. It's possible to change some information from your old form without any issues; however, there are information that should not be changed. For example, you stated in your first form that you worked from 2014 to 2016 as an accountant at Price Water Cooper and then in the new form, you state that you worked as an accountant for the same period at KPMG. That kind of change can't be made. However, changes like your sponsor, address, travel plans can be changed.

Sincerely speaking, a score of 280 on the GRE and 76 on TOEFL is quite low as most schools typically list a minimum GRE score of 300 and TOEFL score of 79. However, if you have other things on your application to put your case forward, it will help. A more realistic option will be to get the admission first and then work towards getting a graduate assistantship. Also, for engineering, most schools reserve funding for PhD programmes and most times do not offer funding for masters programmes.

Hi Timotee, I plan on studying environmental engineering in the US. Do you mean there are limited fundings/scholarships for engineering at the MSc level?

Hello NL family,I guess it is time to upload my transcript,my visa wasn't approved on aug 24th. It was my first trial,date was initially on aug 15,2018 but was rescheduled to aug 24th. It was a cold n rainy morning. All aug 14,15,16,17,18,20,23,and 24th applicants were scheduled together to 24th,all 7am,7:30am,and 8am applicants were joined together. Queue was like that of judgement day queue....the one we usually see on jehovah witness books of people going to hell. My time was 7am and I came before that(abuja).
Was interviewed by a nice white guy in his mid-thirties or later than that at window 10. After praying silently not to be interviewed by a mean white skinny woman at window 6. I escaped her though.
Vo smiled and gave me a thumbs up to come quickly,I smiled back and came.
Vo: good mnin,you hear english right?
Me: yes,sure(surprised)
Vo: pass me ur documents(I did)
Vo: so you are going for an F1 visa?
Me:Yes
Vo:so.....where is the sch?
Me: st. Cloud(waited for a sec wondering if he meant state or city)
Vo: No,I mean state.
Me:minnesota
Vo: what are some of the courses you would be taking?
Me:physics,gen.Engr,maths,statistics,chemistry...basic chemistry(was chemistry really there).
Vosadnot bothered)so this sch is a 2 yr sch,right?

Me: he is a professional lawyer who owns a law firm...beside that,he has acres of lands in two diff locations he leases out to commercial farmers...he gets a lot of income from these(both law firm n these)
Vo:what percentage of your tuition will he be covering approximately cos ur sch fees is 29,00usd.
Me: about 60-70%
Vo: how much does ur statement read in usd?
Me: about 55,000usd
Vo: can you approximate how much he earns...like monthly?
Me: i cant be specific but I can assure you it runs into millions
vo: so u said u would be taking statistics,physics n basic chemistry in program?
Me: Yes(guy physics n statistics d dia bt chemistry got me confused)
Vo: why this course?

GRE Score: 8th - 11th percentile
TOEFL Score - 34th percentile
No competitive school would give you admission - not to talk of scholarship - with these results.
If you're considering the Fall2019 cycle, i'd advise you to give your GRE a second attempt. There's still time.

A few schools offer limited funding for masters programmes in engineering, but many of them don't. You can do a search for programmes (https://m.university-list.net/us/rank/univ-20131045.htm) that offer environmental engineering at the masters level and email them about funding for a masters programme and they will let you know if they offer any funding.

Don't get discouraged. Although, your test scores are on the low side, you can still get admissions to a good number of good masters programmes in engineering. Try applying to Prairie View A&M University in Texas. I'm very positive that you will get admitted. Upon getting to the school, you can then apply for graduate assistantship. A good number of folks I know doing their masters in engineering there have a graduate assistantship.

Your sponsor and funding source caused the denial. You should have elaborately stated the means of paying the 70%and the remaining 30-40% of the fees by properly breaking it down for him. Any scholarship? No matter how little.
You should have stated the monthly income in $.

Here is what I was trying to tell you. Be succinct in your response, the V.Os don't have all day. This is evident in the question "why this school". Try to go straight to the point in your responses. Don't paraphrase or try to romance a term. When you were asked like how much your sponsor earns, you should have thought of a fugure and guve it to him straight up.

Work on your delivery anyways.

@ace1995:
An offer of graduate assistantship depends on the school. Some schools may offer a graduate assistantship with an offer of admission while others may not. In many schools (e.g. Prairie View A&M University that I talked about previously), you are not automatically offered a graduate assistantship on admission. Upon registering for classes, you can apply for available graduate assistantship positions all over the school. There is no guaranty of getting one, but if you aggressively pursue your applications, there's a high chance that you will get one. Most folks don't get it before the deadline for payment of tuition fees in the first semester, so they may have to pay the out of state tuition rate for the 1st semester which may be a little expensive.

Your script easily tells all the story: the verbal and the nonverbal exchanges.

Remarks: Your answers were uninspiring and banal; and to think that they had a horde of applicants on the waiting queue, he had to cut you short occasionally and quickly handed down his decision. Worse still, your composure (nonverbal) gave you away too.

Recommendations: take your time out to study just Part 13 of this section and you'll be fine. You will need a real time Q&A session, something like a Mock. This will help you improve on your delivery. Do not refire until you have worked on yourself!

Peace!

For starters, I will advice you don't attempt to appear there with a doctored statement of account (if caught on the spot, it could earn you a very good spot in the gulag. If caught afterward, it will most definitely earn you a lengthy ban).

Your i-20 detail will determine your next move. If your Dad was listed as your Sponsor on that form, then he may need to beef up his savings on that account.

If "family" was the listing, then you could use another member of the family as sponsor. However, you will need to give a very good explanation why that sponsor would be willing to fund your studies.

If "no specific" identity was listed, the recommendation directly above also applies.

Permit me to ask if your studies could really be funded at this time or would it be best you defer. Do you have sinister plans other than studies. Please, make only calculated moves...

, and its study oo nothing more than study, dad had the money, I just don't understand why he could do this to me T this time, am so hating him right now, talked to my uncle today, he said I could use his but the problem is I didn't list him as a sponsor, so an just confused on what to do now.
