@henricson

I contacted my account officer who helped me out after several declined transactions. He enabled my GTBank Master card for international payment.

It didn't work with my savings so I had to moved my money to my current account and it went thru. Make sure you have up to N80k in the account.

You can go to your bank or do it online. To get your account officer number, Log on to your online banking e.g www.gtbank.com, input your details, check for account officers and call any of them.

You should get thru in 30mins with their help and guidance.

Thanks... Later figured it out.

Yes they do, but am sure they just increased their limit. Check with your branch if your Mastercard is 'activated' for online banking or if your account is properly 'linked' to your card. Could just be a minor thing.

Yup... Thank you

Gud p.m House,

Hope we are all doing gud.
The status of my 4 months old app has been reading submitted all this while and my eligiblity has been on since June. However, I just logged in some minutes ago and noticed that the status has changed to app/profile updated.

I understand this could be as a result of the system maintenance of yesterday, but there was visibly no change or anything new on my profile.

So I have been thinking... "Does it mean that my app has been left unattended to all this time and they just started looking at it? Or "Is this new status update for the eligibility they started reviewing since June but status update did not reflect in my account till now? STILL PONDERING!

Hang on guys, what will be...will be.

It can get frustrating when you are left guessing because of communication gap. Frankly, I don't know what it means. Seems you missed your German interview. Dilemma!

Please I'm having issues paying for visa application fees online. Done it thrice now and it keeps saying declined transaction not approved. Tried 2 different banks. And funds are over 75k. Did any one experience this?

Or is it cause it's a naira card and the limit is 100 dollars a day?
Try GTBANK... I had similar issue... But GTBANK worked other banks didn't

MUN has given me a student number despite me applying for 2019/20 fall semester and have been told to submit all necessary documents as soon as possible. But the problem I have is transcript cause my school non teaching staff are known of strikes. Won't the transcript problem affect my admission cause as it is, they may process everything November or late October?
If you have a friend among the none-teaching staff, now is the time to request a favour... I had similar issue. I was lucky to get mine, although in my case I already applied before the strike. He just spoke with his boss who sneaked into office on a weekend to get out mine. So mine was kinda ready before the strike. But yours is workable. Just try. Pele, I understand how you feel.

Pls I need advice on my career path, I'm planning to sell my landed property, car and other accessories to pursue a bsc in Canada (and in civil Engr) Wanna further my education. So I'd like to know if living over there after school is advisable and wanna know how to foot other bills after and tuition fees after paying for the first semester from here. Pls help out
olaxmatic07,

The properties which you intend selling, will the funds be sufficient to cater for your first year tuition and living expenses in Canada? As a Canada study visa candidate, you're meant to show proof of financial sufficiency for your first year of studies in Canada without working and no recourse to public funds. By doing so, the consular officer will also check the source of income and the possiblity of funding for future years of study in Canada. At this juncture, you will need a guarantor that will stand to provide strong financial backing for your proposed 5- years program(Bsc Civil Engineering) in Canada.

As an International Student, you're entitled to work 20hours per week during school hours and 40hours during school breaks mainly towards the spring/summer. Working and paying for your tuition, as well as your living expenses while in Canada as an international student is very difficult. I would rather say it's impossible, considering that you're heading for a lucrative undergraduate course in civil engineering. You will always need continued financial support from your guarantor at least to for your tuition, while you handle the rest of the expenditures yourself like.. Housing, feeding, transportation and taxes etc.. Be guided properly that getting a job as new timer (fresher) is also very difficult, in as much as most employers in Canada require employees with Canadian working experience. Many students stay up to 6-12months prior to securing a job in Canada. Therefore, don't have the mindset that once you arrive Canada, you can get a job straight up and commence work immediately.

Now to the aspect of staying back after studies. After successful completion of your degree program in Canada, you will be eligible for the pgwp program (post graduate work permit), this allows you to stay back and work legally without restrictions as a foreign graduate in Canada, while making plans for your permanent residence.

All the best!
